Cutsey, nauseating, bland, boring, campy...what else...oh yes, a waste of our time.

Good cast, farfetched plot, sickeningly sweet moppets. Nuff said.

when this show was on in the 1960s i was the same age as the little girl who played Buffy,{annisa Jones} I loved the show then. Probably watched it every week.I thought it was cute. Wtching it years later, I can see it is sugar sweet kind of goody goody.come on, no kids are THAT good. Yet for nostalgic reasons cannot give it too low of a rating. Sebastion Cabot is great as Mr. French. the british butler, who is now babysitter. Brian keith was good as grumpy but soft Uncle bill. Johnny Whitaker, and Annisa Jones were fine as the goody twins. could not Stand Sissy. Not a horrible show but not a great one either.  sad though for what happened to that darling Anissa Jones. I even still have a Mrs. Beasley doll from way back then. even though she cannot speak anymore and the glasses are long gone.a 3.5

In order to appreciate this show to the fullest is to have been there when it was created for the audience. I can understand why people would ditch it now but we thought it was wonderful when it aired from 66 to 71. If Anissa Jones were alive today, she would throw-up on seeing the badly written crap thrown out for the public. Medocrity is the order of the day. Thirty years from now, the contemporaries of this period will probably be aghast and take enemas to forget seeing American Idol.

While "Family Affair" probably shouldn't be considered terrible from an objective viewpoint, I personally hated this vanilla show. I can't remember any of the characters having any human flaws, from the overachieving Uncle Bill (Brian Keith) to the perfectly irritating Jody (Johnny Whitaker) and Buffy (Anissa Jones). Not to pick on the deceased, but what is it with so many child actors, as Jones died of an overdose as a teen.

Great family oriented show. If the show came back and with the way tv is today it would be about incest.

I watch, and re-watch this type of programme. Today's TV is full of offensive material. I buy a television to be entertained - not offended. I can go to the movies for that. Family Affair may not be true to reality, but it makes me happy to watch it. A bit of wholesome never hurt anyone.

Did you ever see the scenes where the children were on the school playground? Everyone was dressed in Sunday clothes, and they stood as stiff as mannequins while supposedly passing the ball around. It's no wonder Brian Keith committed suicide.

The only episodes I enjoyed dealt with the romantic relationship between Uncle Bill and Mr. French.

This was the CLEAN ERA of television. This is a television show anyone could watch with their children and not be offended. The stories were heartfelt and the series was inspiring and edifying. I loved it and will always!

A rather bland and sappy sitcom. I liked Brian Keith and Sebastin Cabot(he was clearly the best actor as Mr French) The kids were boring goody two shoes, I mean who would call their kids Buffy, Jody and Cissy?

The kids were extremely annoying. It's no wonder Buffy overdosed. Uncle Bill was built though.

Once again, another bad era of television, this show is just so awful. I do not recommend it to anyone.

A show that had nothing going for it. Even the actors seemed bored silly while they were going through their motions. This was a cursed production: Sebastian Cabot keeled over with a massive coronary after the first season, Anisa Jones crumpled face down unto the pavement due to injudicious self-medication and Brian Keith offed himself when he realized he had cancer. They attempted to make Johnny Whitaker a cracker version of little Michael Jackson, which would be enough to warp anybody's brain, and the tramp who played the older sister was probably fated to a retirement life of spreading 'em for her boring entertainment industry lawyer husband. Who knows what other disasters awaited those less conspicuous members of the production?

I liked this show until the kids started to grow up and they kept dressing them and writing their parts as if they were still little kids

This was just an odd show...was it a comedy, drama, who knows?? The opening was scary...you needed sunglasses with all the sparkling crystals. And what was up with Uncle Bill...he could sometimes be downright mean...especially if he was busy at work or had a hot date. How can we forget Cissy's morphed hair styles...from a flip to these huge masses of wigs piled on her head...what was the point of that? Oh and Mrs. Beasley...my parents bought my sister one and man she was even more scarier in real life...the story lines were really dumb, and when I watch the reruns today, I laugh at the scenes that are supposed to be serious. I can't believe that the show is going to be redone I think on the WB...what are they thinking of??

Family Affair was a good idea, but just not such a good sitcom. The solution for why this show bothered me is yet to be found, even though Mrs. Beasley could probably beat out Kitty Karry All anyday of the week.

Another example of an over used film supply of the 60's ! Borrrrrring. the best part of that show was the doll Mrs. Beasley!
