My go to Scotch. Price is not too bad and is very smooth on the finish. I like my Scoth neat, but, no problem if you like a few cubes.

Nice on the nose. Weak on the pallet. Not bad, but almost tastes watered down. Prefer Glenlivet over this. Prefer Islays overall.

In my opinion this is the greatest single malt. It has a rich fruity taste that will quench any pallet. The problem is that many don't know how to drink single malt! You don't mix this with anything except distilled cold water or a few rocks, let it sit and drink. People think that whiskey can be mixed with anything but you will be sadly mistaken. Don’t complicate a taste that needs no complicating! I always have a bottle of this somewhere and bring is out for any reason, but will not allow anyone to destroy it with coke!!! Enjoy, I know I do!!!

I enjoy William Grants blended scotch, so I was looking forward to their Glenfiddich Single Malt. For sipping neat (which is my usual preference) I'll stick with the less expensive blended offering as the 12yr old single malt is heavily steeped in harsh petroleum overtones that completely bury the character of good Scotch. Kerosene, iodine, and syrupy honey are the only flavors that come through straight. BUT, if you toss in an ice cube and let it melt just a bit it is a pleasant drink. Some whiskey likes water and this one definitely does. That single cube of ice allowed the honey, light smoke, and soft malty undertones come through cleanly.

Not bad for the money. Very smooth taste but not a special character. I think superior than brands with the same cost like Johnie Black,Chivas 12 or Cardhou. Good 3,5/5

Uneven with a horrible flavor.   Even a yankee fan could tell the difference.

A nice smooth Scotch for enjoying over ice or straight up. Nice flavor. Sip it slow and savor it.

Some dives that I go into don't have any single malt except this or Glenlivet. I usually choose this. I think Grants distributes this hooch.

This is the entry level single malt scotch. The 12 y.o. "Special Reserve" is fruity with a pleasent typical Speyside nose but is excessively spirity, so go for the 15 y.o. "Solera" which clearly deserves the extra money and would get an additional star.

If it's your first time drinking scotch, try this before you spend the money on something truly great. Most people love this drink, but compared to others, it's merely adaquate.

Good iodine and salt but lacks the zest of other single malts. I have not tried the 15 but it is worth a try.

Great entry-level scotch. Line gets better as it ages so spend a little more get a lot more!

This whisky just can't compare to the better single malts!

In Australia, where I'm from, this was the scotch that opened up a market for single-malt whisky. This class of drink is really only for those who appreciate the particular characteristics of whisk(e)y and is generally too expensive to mix - a practice which some would consider culturally offensive in any case. Glenfiddich is one of the best beginner's single-malts with as it is not exhorbitantly costly, is rather smooth and not too challenging.

When I lived in Taiwan every once in a while a Canadian friend and English guy and I would all get together, get a bottle of Chivas and get "Scotched" as they called it. Which brings me to my point about Glenfidich which is that it's better than Chivas, smoother easier to drink without that harsh Scotch burn that's so common. I first found this out when I was with my college girlfriend in England visiting her relatives etc. We stayed with her parents best friends and from the moment we walked in the door the dad is passing me pints. We walk around the corner in this sleepy little town to a little pub and have few more then back to the house where he decides to crack open a bottle of Glenfidich. So here's me - college kid, beer drinker, thinking he can hold his own (which I did but just barely) and here's him - fifty / fifty-five maybe, parent with two grown kids, car dealer, family man, wife sitting across the couch from us and he's drinking me under the table! I stayed awake bu... Read more
