There is really no reason to drink this stuff unless you really want to get a headache. It is harsh and gross. It is the reason I thought I really did not like tequila. It is the reason I drank really sugary margarita drink mixes to drown out the disgusting flavor. A few years ago, I bought a pitcher of margaritas with Cuervo because it was the cheapest and I regretted it instantly.

This tequila is way over-hyped.   I've taste tested this next to Sauza Gold  (which is a few bucks cheaper) and it loses every time.    Buy a lesser known tequila in the same price range and there's a 90% change it will be better than Jose Cuervo gold or silver.   If you DO need to buy it, get the silver,  it tastes better.   Also, the Gold color and aged flavor in Cuervo gold is artificially added.

I used to drink this all the time until I found Don Valente's Tiquilito Gold.

I know, I know, silver tequila is all the rage and I suppose it is a bit smoother, but I'm a tequila girl and I know I can get this wherever I go AND it will always hit that spot! ummm ummm

Sucks. If you are a college student with a limited budget and just want to get drunk, try stoli. This crap is to real tequila drinkers what mad dog is to wine lovers.

Not the most authentic or best Tequila around but its cheap enough and does the job. Decent enough to use in frozen 'ritas..plus everytime I use it I find myself singing the song "Hey Nineteen" by Steely Dan.."The Cuervo Gold, the fine Columbian..make tonite a wonderful thing...."

Perfect example of terrible tequila. No more than 51% de agave - 49% additives. Anyone who rates this more than 1 star must not know basic tequila information. Drink this if you want a hangover.

Let's say you're a call girl. Ok, but let's say you're a call girl anyway. So. You want to impress your trick as someone worldly and experienced, but you're still at heart a 'rita drinker. What you'd want to order is one of these with Gran Marnier. It's a very good, 100% agave. It has a price to match. That is to say, it's a bit overpriced, but if it's good enough, why count pennies, honey? Me love you long time. Until the next morning when you wake up ashamed, of course. But that's tequila for you, innit mate?

Made with the bare minimum amount of agave to be called tequila and coloured with caramel, as opposed to picking up real colour from barrel aging. It's crap, and it's still expensive.

I used to be a Cuervo gold drinker until I had a taste of the good stuff. Spend a few bucks more and not wake up thirsty in the middle of the night after drinking Cuervo. Lousy after taste and not even 100% agave....YUCK ! Never again

With all the premium 100% agave tequilas available in the US now, this best selling tequila here in the US is one of the worst. If you refuse to spend the money on a premium tequila, at least spend a little more than the cost of Cuervo Gold (Especial) and get one of the lower cost 100% agave tequilas (ie. Cuervo Tradicional, Cazadores). Note Cuervo Gold gets it's color from coloring additives and not from aging in barrels like the good stuff. Also being only 51% agave, the rest is sugar.

How can this possibly be ranked higher than Casadores? (Which isnt the best, but certainly better than this swill.) MAYBE ok for margaritas, but you dont want to use the good stuff in that cloyingly sweet concoction anyway! Yeah, Im a snob.

I dont see what the big deal is. I was afraid to drink Tequila because of all the horror stories I have heard. So the first time I had Tequila was Jose Cuervo Gold. 4 shots...went down with no problem and 4 margaritas. Felt nice and good. I didnt have a hangover or headache at all. Am I drinking something different.

Yes, terrible. I don't even think there's any agave in here! Avoid at all costs, unless you enjoy a burning throat and a hangover.

Good budget tequila, I myself prefer a higher end of booze, but for the money this stuff isn't bad at all I've had it a few times. I like it, but if I was buying a Tequila I would have to go with the 1800 black label cuervo, which cost around $44 a 5th, another good choice would be some Don Julio for roughly $39 a 5th.

If you want to kill a friend get him a CUERVO, if you want to be cheap in a party buy Cuervo The only thing you can be sure of is that they are very consistent....only very bad tequila

One tequila, two tequila, three tequila, floor..as the saying goes. To much of this wonderful drink will make the floor jump up and hit you, but oh, what a wonderful drink you can have if you have Cuervo Gold as one of the ingredients. Margarita’s are wonderful made with this as the base. It’s a great tequila!

Tequila rocks, and as far as tequila goes, this is it. People give it a bad rap because it smells like poop, but once you start throwing back some shots with some lemon and salt, it really helps loosen you up. A big hit with the ladies too, ya know? try it out

The first time I drank tequila was with Cuervo Gold. I was with a couple of buddies of mine and we drank a whole fifth of it. I got sick for two days after that. Ever since then, the slightest smell of tequila gets me ill.

I don't like Cuervo because the taste is too strong. The smell of tequila is overpowering. The only time I can drink Cuervo is when it's in a mixed drink.

Mediocre tequila. Best for mixing. Does not go down smoothly for shots. Fairly common brand, so it proves good for parties (the Budweiser of tequilas).

Has a great flavor and does not seem to bother me as some other tequila's do. Seems to go down easy and is very pleasant to drink. Have fun with Cuervo is what I say. The only thing that beats gold is platinum, but I have not seen any yet.

Jose Cuervo Gold in my opinion is one of the kings of tequila. Jose Cuervo makes a good tequila. The brand Jose Cuervo is a household name for anyone who is a tequila fan. You can't go wrong with Jose Cuervo Gold.

This is one of the best tequila's I've tried, but it is a bit heavy. It has too much alcohol. The taste is too concentrated. It can't be combined with anything. It leaves you with a terrible headache the next day.
