Its in the ginger ale section but I almost wouldn't consider it "ginger ale" its really more its own thing. Very complex and subtle flavor with bubble gum/vanilla undertones...not overly sweet. I never notice any ginger at all until after the last sip when I notice some ginger flavor and "burn". This isn't something that you would fill a giant drink cup with down at the convienience store, nor is it something you would drink all the time or drink with food. Its more something you savor at a moderate pace(especially since drinking it too fast makes you want to sneeze!!)Good stuff I like it.

Vernor's ginger ale is a nice change of pace beverage. do not drink too often. the vernor's is the best brand I agree that other brands are not the same as Vernor's ginger ale.

This is real ginger ale. Not the junk off brand stuff you find on the shelves at Wal Mart. I bought a 6 pack of it back when I was in detroit and I fell in love with it right off the bat. I still buy it every so often.

The BEST!! It also makes the stomach feel better when one is ill. Nothing else compares, as it should be. Nothing else is barrel aged for 3 years! The ORIGINAL!

Simply supurb, but I am a self-proclaimed iconoclast.

Dreadful soda. Only appreciated by self-proclaimed iconoclasts and old farts. I can't believe there was a soft drink out there that I despise more than Mountain Dew. Probably bottled by lunatic nazis in a horribly dank underground lair.

I grew up in Detroit, where Vernors originated. I missed it for years, until it went national. Always been my favorite for Ginger Ale. I love it.

Not that good of a drink. a 5 star goes to something that is really great, and this is not.

To me all Ginger Ale is gross except this kind. It is more sweet than all the other ginger ales and it even helps when you are sick. Can be served ice cold or hot.

It would be better if they didn't try to improve it and make it like they think the Pepsi generation likes things....it is now a bit too sweet. I wish it could be bought in smaller bottles than the 2L bottles (tried cans years ago, and it tasted bad in cans)...best when it used to be still aged in oak and bottled in glass. Blah, I don't like ginger ale too much, but it's better than root beer.

I travel over 150 miles to buy just a couple of 6-packs every couple of months. And I do so only because it is the best mass produced ginger ale on the market. The rest are swamp water compared to Vernor's. Rest In Peace James Vernor 1st!

Maybe you have to be a Michigander to appreciate Vernor's, though I know it's nationwide now. Three generations of my family love it. It's bold, not like other, paler ginger ales. And when blended with ice cream to make a Boston cooler -- as Elias Bros. Big Boys used to do -- wow!

One of the finest soft drinks ever. Excellent straight out of the can. Certainly all other ginger ales pale in comparison. Strong ginger flavour without making your eyes water like ginger beer. Available here in southern Ontario but still somewhat hard to find.

being 54 and a native of Detroit now living in Fla I have grown up on Vernors especially when sick as child I remember Mom giving me this to settle the stomach. I also would take some on my Fla visit's as hard to find in the area. Now that I am living here it is a rarity to find and when mentioned peole never heard of. How can we get this product more readily available. SJE / Ft Myers,fl

Yes! Root beer is to cream soda as regular ginger ale is to Vernor's. It tastes a lot better than cream soda too, that's just an analogy.

My husband turned me on to this stuff...Nectar of the Gods!! Now whenever we have people headed this way (to NJ) from the midwest they all know to bring a case or 5 =) Wish I could get it here...and I'm almost willing to drive the 6 hours to get a truck load at this point!

A good and unique ginger ale. Is good straight, or with a little lemon. An added bonus is that it can make even rotgut whiskey tolerable when used as a mix. Vernor's is versatile to say the least.

This is by far the best ginger ale and in fact, the best soda pop ever! I've been drinking it since I was a kid and now that I live in Wyoming, it's almost impossible to get! I load up whenever I'm back in Michigan and Ohio. I LOVE IT!!! It's not your everyday ginger ale!

This is the best ginger ale I know of. (aged in wood first) It was introduced to me when I was just a kid living up north. As great as it is, I don't drink it anymore, because it isn't sold down here - plus I changed over to diet drinks years ago.

I grew up with drinking Vernor's at my great-grandmother's house in Detroit. It's incredible that I was drinking the product made the same way as Vernor had made it, from the same bottling plant built by him. Now that I live in Georgia, I just buy it online at the website of the same name. Kinda expensive, but VERY WELL worth it!

Exceptional, in a class of it's own. Like aged single malt scotch compared to a discount blend.

I have enjoyed and appreciated the taste of Vernor's for over 60 years. Know I have to drive 60 miles to buy it. I'd like to find an outfit that would send me cases of quart or litre bottles.

Vernor's has a spiciness not found in the major ginger ales. No where near a real ginger beer, but it's great on its own, or adds a kick to holiday punches.
