 | TheFreak (3) 03/01/2002 | YUCK! I don't care when, where, by whom, or how this hunk of stupidity was written. The point is, this was nothing more than a sappy "story" with bad humor. All the women are portrayed as good little girls who want to be married off ASAP, and all the men are lustful and can't think about anything but chasing women or marrying off their daughters. The only worthwhile character, Katharine, actually had a mind of her own throughout most of the play, but then at the end, she's a "maid who will marry any Tom Dick or Harry" an "obedient wife" just like the rest of the women, who has no purpose. Sound dumb? It is. Sound funny? No, it doesn't and it's not. If you want to see a Shakespearian comedy, I recommend "The Merchant of Venice". Now there's a funny play. Just leave this piece of trash in the landfill. Take care, everyone!
