Johnny Maestro (The Crests, Brooklyn Bridge)

Overall Rating:Average Rating (2.17) based on 30 ratings
ItemImage

After making a name for himself as lead singer of the Crests, vocalist Johnny Maestro formed Brooklyn Bridge in 1967 and scored a gold record the next year on Buddah with a cover of the Fifth Dimension's heartbroken "Worst That Could Happen." Brooklyn Bridge was an amalgam of Maestro, the Del Satins (the vocal group that backed Dion on many of his early-'60s solo hits), and a brassy outfit called the Rhythm Method. Brooklyn Bridge enjoyed several more hits in 1969 and 1970, and Maestro still performs on the oldies circuit.

Johnny Maestro, at 68 years of age, is still performing across the country with The Brooklyn Bridge to packed theaters and venues. His songs are known by almost everyone, even if they don't know his name. And his voice is as strong and awesome as it always has been. He and the Brooklyn Bridge will soon hopefully receive the recognition they so very much deserve by being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame. 0

One of the finest voices in the history of pop music. "Worst that Could Happen" is an all time classic, like "Cara Mia". But no....0
