I'm not big on Primus music but Claypool's definitely one of the more inventive and nimble fingered players around today.1

He's a good bassist but if I was as good as he is I would take Primus a lot more serious and make it a bad ass metal band 0

Claypool's just.....somewhere else, operating freely where others only dream of being. THE ideal vehicle in Primus (a non-commercial platform that isn't responsible for X-number of salaried middlemen), where he's been able to direct his talents with precious little interference. So frenetic, I get wrist cramps watching him play. Victim of the double-edged sword (so good everyone knows him, but too good to secure the lowest common denominator). Possibly the best in any world.1
