Grew up on it being from NW Pa....liked it then but havn't tasted one in several years.

Genesee Light is good beer, it gets a bad rap. Not a huge fan of light beer anymore, but if you are just for kicks do a taste test against bud light and miller lite. You'll be surprised.

Great college ghetto beer, but can't possibly get more than two stars on this fine list. . .part of me misses good ol' Genny, but I'm not going back to those starving college days. . .

I'm from Rochester but I live in West Palm Beach, Fl. I want some Genny & no one down here sells it! Ship it to South Florida. There are more New Yorkers here than Floridians! I want some Genny!

tastes like everything else. not a good beer to have if you have a stupid friend. back when i was 18, i graduated from high school and went to the beach with friends. my one buddy told us his older sister purchased us two cases of Guinness for the trip. we drove 5 hours expecting good ole Guiness. when we got to the beach and he brought the beer into the room we were in, and began unloading the cans in to the fridge, it was Genesee.

This beer is considered bad because it is grouped in the same category as all the other crappy beers. the correct term for a beer such as this is a budget beer for the price, this beer is BY FAR the best beer you can get. instead of saying it sucks just because its cheap try buying a six pack of genny beer, light, or cream ale in bottles. you will be surprised.

For the price, it's good. Would prefer to have it in bottles, but I'll buy this over Busch or other cheapies any day, when I want quantity over quality (which is becoming rare as I get older.....)

The label should say "Toilet Water". You drink the toilet water and then you sit on the toilet all night. Enjoy!

Does Genessee still exist?? How??

Cheap, cheap, cheap, well if you're searching for something along the Beast level, Genny isn't a bad choice. The only reason to drink it is if you're a poor college kid.

Hmmm..if I had a choice between drinking a Genee and sewer water..what would I choose? Actually, I think they are one in the same.

Genesee'in is believn' as they say in Upstate NY. One thing you will be able to believe in after drinking Genny is the bad gas that you will have the day after drinking it. Genny Cream Ale on the other hand.... aaah, those cream ales are tasty.

Wow, I haven't heard of Genesee in years - I'm surprised it is still around. I would group Genesee in the same category as Iron City - not a beer for the faint of heart.

Not a good beer but not the worst. On par with bud and miller. We drank a lot of the Genny pounders when we were in college. Cheap beer in a big bottle is hard to pass up when you're 21. The scary thought is that the water for the beer (supposedly) comes from the Genesee river. If you know it then you know how scary that could be.
