Haven't seen too many of her films but from what I have seen, she is quite good

Helen Mirren is the only actresses that can play Queen Elizabeth 1 & ll. Just take a look at the scene where she hesitated to sign Mary of Scots' death sentence in HBO's Elizabeth.  It would give you chills.Shadows, and shadows of shadows...being alive is punishment enough for this creature. I am not a fan of monarchy, royalty or the miserable Hanoverian Dynasty, in Britain, but Helen Mirren really did a bang up job on the queenie.

I've just recently became a fan of hers and have watched a lot of her movies.  Sh'es a very versatile actress, and is good in every movie I've watched.  Along with being a very sexy lady, hope to see more of her in the near future.

I am surprised at the movies I have seen her in. she is very versatile. she just won an oscar for an excellent portrayal of the queen. she can do drama and comedy.  liked her in Calendar girls, door to door. to name a couple. talented actress> I would like to see more of her work.

Most people probably only know her from her more mature roles, but when she was younger, not only was she a great performer, but she was also very attractive (great legs!). She has grace, poise and talent.

A great actress and, I think, one of the sexiest ones working today. Of course, she's not as well known as Julia Roberts, but then who is?

She's been called the thinking man's sex symbol. I agree. Arguably one of the great actresses of our time. She has a sweet mix of grace, maturity, and sexuality that rarely works with women her age. Loved her in Calendar Girls, I'd crush apples with her anyday! Magnificent.

Another great actress not Hollywood pretty or young enough to attract a lot of work.

Great actress. I adored her fantastic preformance in Teaching Mrs. Tingle as well as her other movies.

One of the finest actresses of our time... she should be at the top or near top of all lists. She's incredibly versatile, open and is very obviously in tune with every character she portrays... excellent actress Helen... just plain smashing!!

What a magical actress. Remember Prime Suspect? WOW! Also saw her in White nights, Madness of King George, Greenfingers, ... and Gosford Park. Dear Helen, each of yours performances is truly breathtaking and proves the love you put into your work. I can't wait to see your upcoming movies...

everyone needs to get a hold of any of her movies she is terrific actress.

hi kids! back again. here we have another GREAT actress. i know of helen mostly through the series of british police shows "prime suspect" and wasn't she just great? in the "madness of king george" she showed even more of the talent that has made her famous in britain and only recently been recognized the us. once again, a valuable asset to the site. she is one that derserves to be and will be moved up the list.

She's fantastic and I don't understand why there are so few coments on her in this page. She's a great actress, well known, fabulous.

I think that most of the people here doing the ratings should really see a Helen Mirren movie.She really belongs at or near the top of this list.With a range that would embarass most of the actresses on this list.
