I don't think history will be kind to him for the right reasons. A cloaked theologian who campaigned to uphold the Constitution then seemed to have little patience for it or the Congress or Supreme Court when it inconveniently disagreed with him on rational and legal grounds. I think in the future he will be remembered as a fool and his death will be one of rememberance for some of the most backwards-political years in contemporary American history. Fools don't get better as they age or when they die- and in this author's humble opinon his death won't resonate with the memory of a glorious or sucessful presidency.

All you people that say you would celebrate piss me off!! Even if you dont like the guy, this would be a funeral were talking about. Wishing or hoping you OWN AMERICAN president dies is terrible. What ever happened to the word bi-partisian, especially at a funeral for an ex president. Respectible dems that had at least a lil class would show up. That wouldnt be alot of you reviewers evidentally. GROW UP.

No other president in my lifetime has had the difficulties to deal with while in office than GWB. Because of the difficulty of decisions he has had to make the past 7+ yrs, he's an easy target for criticism. Many of these issues are "damned if you do" "damned if you don't" decisions. Some of these decisions I have not agreed with, but the circumstances since his election have not been easy.

Not as bad as his son, though.

Given that he looks like he's done his best to mess up the GOP for a generation, I suspect the Republicans are more likely to be celebrating his demise than the Dems.

I wouldn't mourn or celebrate. I'm sure the neocons will quickly be able to find another malleable mediocrity to fill the position, take their orders, and advance their agenda. It does seem to be the case that when a President dies, the process of posthumous rehabilitation of reputation, or spin, begins. When Nixon died, no one in the media that I heard speaking mentioned he was a disgraced crook, a man who put the S back in Sleaze. Suddenly, he was a statesman. When Reagan died, his regressive policies that helped elevate greed and callousness to the status of a religion in America were forgotten, and the pundits kept prattling on about how he made us proud to be Americans again. (American pride must be a very shaky, flimsy thing if it can be lowered or elevated because of a grade-B actor and hack politician.)

Sure I'd probably mourn him if he died......That is, if he doesn't kill US first!!

First off, it really is a shame that some can't check the partisan hackery at the door with this type of scenario. Anyway, considering President Bush is the current president, his death would strike a severe blow to our country in that we would appear to be without a leader. Furthermore, President Bush has proven himself to be a man who says what he wants to say and does what he wants to do which is a trait neccessary to remind people that we don't play games as a nation. Has he made mistakes? Yes, but what president hasn't?

If Bush died I would throw a party.

ok. so i'd probably get a day off for this one, right? other than that can't say i'd care too much. but then again that would make that punk Cheney the president, so maybe it would be best if Shrub lived. someone keep him away from pretzels and open windows.

Bush is great, and I would miss him.
