I stayed at the Best Western Atlantic Beach Resort in Miami over the weekend and have to say that it wasn't exactly what I was hoping for. The beachfront location couldn't have been more perfect and the pool area was attractive and well maintained. Unfortunately, that was where the positives came to a standstill. The layout was very poor with our guest room overlooking an open area into the lobby. this was extremely annoying as they blasted music into the lobby starting early in the morning and lasting well into the night. I don't know about the rest of you but I just can't feel good about paying $200 a night to feel like I'm sleeping on someone's floor during a house party. To make things even more uncomfortable, the thermostat in the room was broken and the A/C must have kept the temperature in the room near or below sixty degrees. I probably could have lived with that if the bed had been made with more than just a single sheet. Yep, that's right - no blanket and no comforter anywher... Read more

I've stayed in a few Best Western's in Europe and they are nothing like the American chain. They are very hotels, while not being top class. I have never had a problem with them and the hotels each have a free breakfast, which can save you some Euro while abroad. The breakfast is tasty and the staff is usually pleasant.

Stayed at the Best Western in Central City, KY. They have the MOST comfortable beds I have ever slept on in a hotel. They are nearly as comfortable as my own bed at home. Maid service left something to be desired. They didn't service our room at all. I had to get towels and dump my own trash. But the beds made up for that.

Their food gave me runs and I couldn’t sleep with the racket outside my door.

Sometimes the outside of the building looks dumpy, but rooms tend to be nice.

I did not become a Best Western advocate on purpose but we have stayed at 3 different BW properties within the past year or so and now I am. One of our stays did not get recorded with their points program. I did not notice for a year. I called them and within 5 minutes I had the stay credited to the point system. There are no many motel or airline point systems that can offer that kind of service. The pool/hot tub in Cortez, CO is unforgetable. In fact we used a picture from there on our Christmas card last year. The BW in San Antonio was fairly priced, a block away from the trolley stop, and a good value for the money. We are of to the BW in Chicago next.

I've stayed at more Best Western's that were terrible than good. I try to avoid them at all costs but you can't always do that.

Very plain, very dull. Clean, but almost obsessively so. They seem to use some caustic smelling cleanser that lingers for hours, and they appear to starch the sheets. The beds feel like the mattress is a sheet of rolled steel.

We always stay at Best Western, and I've always booked it online via their own Website. We've never had a problem even close to anything that's been recounted here. One of the best ones we recently stayed at was the Best Western Revere Inn in Lancaster, PA. Large rooms, wide hallways, friendly staff, two pools, and close to everything, yet set far enough back from Route 30 to muffle the traffic noise. We've stayed in these hotels in Florida, New England, Nova Scotia, Quebec, and Arizona (a really nice one at the Grand Canyon) and have not had a bad experience.

Despite an ear piercing smoke detector and limited cable channels, the one I've been to was one of the best. The hotel in Indy has sparkling clean bathrooms, pool and great room service. It was convienient to downtown and gave me complimentary breakfast. It was worth the cost when you book via Orbitz.

Our stay at The Best Western Monarch Resort in Pacific Grove, Ca was a nightmare on Valentines Day weekend. After a romantic dinner in Montery we came back to a hotel room smelling of raw sewage. The smell was so strong it had others curious as to what was the problem. When we entered our room the sink area, mirror and all our belongings (toothbrushes) on the counter had been splattered with whatever came up the sink from the pipes (disgusting to put it nicely) We made our way to the front desk to be told dont worry we have a suite you can have for tonight. After spending almost 1 hour moving all our things and unpacking our valentines evening mood was not so romantic anymore. The hotel did'nt offer to discount, compensate, or refund a dime we paid ($200.00 pls tax per nite) But made sure they told us several times they lost xxx amount of money to give us the suite that they could have rented to someone else that night, is'nt that nice. These people had no compassion for our situa... Read more

I will never stay at a Best Western again. They had a restraunt and it was terrible food. Could not sleep because it was so darn loud in that motel. The pool like never closed. Screaming and yelling all the time. Why don't they put thicker doors in those motels. Not to mention the high prices we paid for that room.

They're pretty good, but the one in my town has a pretty nasty restaurant in it. Other than that it's ok.

Only been once, in Turkey, booked on the net but they didn't honour the reservation. We booked an old style hotel and they tried to shove us into a modern motel instead. Ended up at another Best Western (St Sophia in Istanbul) which was great, they really looked after us and it was good. However the head office seems a bit weak; I enrolled in the Gold Crown Club at the airport, as the hotel could not do it, and several faxes and emails later am still waiting for the points to be credited! But generally pretty good.

My stay at the Best western ariport inn in cleveland was good, We stayed there when we went to an air show ( I saw the blue angels there and touched one of thier planes!)I checked in with my mom and we went to look for a "ruggles beach" that my dad knew that was good and it turns out it got changed to aprivate beach so we found a different one.We stayed there for 2 nights and we only payed 80 buckarroos for the whole thing. and one time when I was in the elevator with my little bro there was these "evil pizza men" really they were pizza delivery dudes that kept on teasing us and chasing us wherever we went. it was freaky I don't remeber that much of it but this cool black guy we made freind with got us into the pool 20 min before the opeing time of 10:00! that was cool of him and he told us secrets to the hotel, and he said he did not work there. that was cool. we got the Managers specail and only paid $35.99 a night in the peak time! that was cool, my only compaint was that the hot tu... Not too long ago, I had to make hotel reservations and Best Western was nearest to my destination and affordable without being too cheap to make me wonder. I must admit, I was a little worried as I was driving up the road, saw the Best Western sign and saw a building that looked very much like the Bates Motel, fortunately, the Best Western was the modern building on the other side of the sign (phew). The room was large, nice view and clean. The lobby was elegant and the staff was helpful and friendly.

I just stayed at one of these recently as the midway resting point and just chose it because it was there, first place we saw. Unfortunately, it was the main place to stay for a Six Flags Great Adventure and was packed to the hilt with kids and cars and overflowing trash bins. I'm sure it was just circumstances. It did have a pool and a very large facility it was just too overrun.
