Soldier

Why????? Why would anybody want to become a soldier unless they are forced to, or because of circumstances beyond their control....like WAR! I am glad others are willing to risk their lives for this country only because it means my children won't be drafted, and hopefully, my future grandchildren.

They have to follow all the rules or be jailed , they have to be nice to people trying to kill them or they go to jail , and it seems like someone is always shooting at them for one reason or another.

Any job where you face the possibility of dying or seeing your friends die in front of you is definitely stressful.

BLESS ALL THE SOLDIERS FIGHTING OVERSEAS...HOPE THEY COME HOME SAFE & SOUND

Amazing!! stressful but amazing

No doubt,It's absolutely a stressful job..but i'm very sure that they're used by Govt on false cause. Defending the nation is one thing, and terrorizing resourceful nations for national gains is immoral thing, but soldiers has to follow the executive commanders or going AWOL.

My old man was one.  The stress affected him until the day he died.

I don't argue that a line soldier is under stress, and under constant stress in combat.  I'd give them five stars without hesitation.  But bear in mind a lot of soldiers are clerks, supply troops, and other types who have a similar amount of stress to the average office worker.

I know the soldiers are under a tremendous amount of stress, defending the lives of total strangers, and yet being miles away from their family and friends, wondering how the bills are getting paid, and so on.

I can't begin to imagine what it feels/felt like to be on a plane knowing that you were about to be placed in harm's way. Stress would be an understatement.

Probally the most stressful job I can think of.  You have no idea if you will get shot at or not, or if you will make it back at all.

Having never been on a two-way shooting range, I don't quite have the same perspective as someone who has, but all the same, I can respect them for the job they do.

One of most stressful by no stretch of the imagination. The training alone could, and has been known to, break people.

Tough! I personally don't understand why anyone would want to be a soldier, but I guess someone has to...It never appealed to me on any level.

You want stress? Try this out. You are PFC Humptyfratz. You get up at 0430 every morning so Corporal Numbah can yell out you and run you 'till you die for morning PT. Then you get deployed on a ship with 2000 other chucklenuts like yourself, you get a little cabin fever and you start hatin' life. Then you get the part Corporal Numbah didn't getting the joy of participating in, the two way shooting range. Now you got assholes flinging bullets at you and trying to blow you up with roadside bombs while you are running around with a squad of heavily armed guys in their early 20's and none of you can make any sense of what the REAL assholes that put you there are doing. This is why I laugh when I hear people bitch about their job and never get too cranky about mine.

Hell ya this is stressful. I've never served, but from what I've heard, you're deployed for months at a time, forced to keep long hours, forced to worry about what's around the next corner or on the road ahead, forced to be worried about your fellow soldiers wasting you, forced to not shower and forego all sorts of hygiene for months at a time, in addition to the screaming noncoms. Yikes.

The American Soldier is a top notch well oiled machine never scene in world history. The Pentagon some times makes poor decisions that effect the outcomes on the battlefield but they will never be beat head to head. I cannot express my sincere respect for every one of them other than to say they are the reason I have the ability to live in the freedom I have. I thank you so much on a day to day basis that you take the risks with your lives so that I can be free. Thank you. My thoughts and prayers are always with you and I will never let a willy nilly liberal get but earshot away without defending your integrity whenever it is challenged. I love you all. Thanks!

God bless our military, no ones knows how stressful it is until you walk a mile in their shoes. Pray for our men and women to return home safely.

I am very concerned about our soldiers in Iraq and I want them to come back home. To LanceRoxas: This willy-nilly liberal supports the soldiers and is worried about their safety in Iraq. That is why I want them home.

No comment here could even come close to describing what it is like for our soldiers in Iraq today. If there were a six on this scale, they would get it. 5 huge stars for our men and women fighting the good fight.
