A great singer who's operatic vision of hard rock was unique and unmatched. He had the voice and accompaniment to deliver the goods and was one of the great showmen of his generation. Not all of his records were great but his voice always was. His finest three minutes on wax would be the opening track from A Night at the Opera - Death on Two Legs.

You can't teach talent. And Freddie Mercury had it in droves. I was listening to "Another One Bites the Dust" yesterday, and hearing Mercury's voice rise and sail above the band's instruments was simply awesome. I wish I could sing like that.

You want rock and roll or do you want some leotard wearing, irritatingly effeminate opera singer dancing around onstage as if each performance were some badly choreographed avante garde modern dance routine? Queen was the quintessential overblown arena rock sludge group of all time.

Freddie had an impressive vocal range. I have tried to imitate him, but to no avail. He is one of the great singers of the 20th century.

He was good,but not the best.
