Britney Spears with an edge? I'm not really familiar with her music, as I don't follow media-promoted "artists" at all anymore (haven't for decades), but in some pictures she looked reasonably cute, in some she projected a Wendy O. Williams type of sleazy punk sexiness. Channel-surfing recently, I was unable to resist a VH1 feature (I think) on her life-- "Behind The Music". What else was I gonna watch at 2am? Another re-run of "The First 48"?

I hate to be hypercritical, but I cringed in my seat. I'm sure she was sincere in what she said, but if she "wrote out her pain" through the "songs" she penned, maybe she should try novel-writing instead. Her "music" is the kind you forget 2 seconds after hearing it (hopefully). People don't attend her shows to hear "music". They do it to witness her twirling in the air like a scantily clad circus performer. And (usually I'm more compassionate and understanding, but I'm at the tail end of a day-long migraine)...WHAT FRIGGIN' PAIN?!? Because her parents got divorced? She was raised in a more-than-comfortable Philly suburb. Maybe she shoulda been raised in North Newark or Camden if she wanted real pain; the songs she could've written then would probably have made Charles Manson's musical compositions sound like Perry Como or Lawrence Welk. Give her 10 years and she'll be performing in Vegas. Or appearing in "Surreal Life 923".

And I couldn't help but thinking as I watched this crap that most of the other people watching, or those people appearing in the interviews extolling her "genius" or babbling on about how "great" she is or how "immortal" her "music" is, wouldn't know the NY Dolls or The Gun Club or Flipper or the Velvet Underground if they fell over them.

She actually has some good songs and a somewhat powerful voice.

UPDATE: She is nothing but a complete waste of radio space, video space, internet space,etc...after hearing her new album, I still think she can't sing. I watched 2 of her new videos that have debuted recently...and she actually became even more unattractive (personality wise and acting wise.) I think it is a complete joke how she pokes fun at other females in the entertainment business...who is she to judge anyone? Pink is nothing but a whiny, negative, talentless hack !

Musically I'm not that impressed but I like the girl on a personal level. She had a rough life and struggled with some personal demons for awhile but she seems to have come out the other side with her head firmly planted on her shoulders.

THe most underrated female pop/rock star out there today. She doesn't get all the attention like Britney Spears or Mariah Carey because she doesn't go around making an ass of herself in public. Sure. she's wild, crazy and covered in tattoos (music's answer to Angelina Jolie) Pink is still a very talented singer and songwriter who writes a lot of her own material. I also like her self confidence and "I don't give a f---" attitude. I'm looking forward to hearing her new album and was very happy to see her find and marry the man of her dreams, motocross cutie Carey Hart, who unlike some other pop star's husband, does not drag her down with him and actually has his own career and is not marrying Pink just for the money.

With the amount of perfect artists on the music front at the moment it's refreshing to see someone as honest and blunt as pink, she is not ashamed to be herself or express her view, alot of people seem to misunderstand this and judge her upon it but after taking the time to listen to what she was saying i've kinda started to like her. Her first album was a little confusing, she has an amazing voice and talent at song writing yet while listening to the first album you get the impression the feeling wasn't there. The second album misunderstood is amazing and really shows her true talent, the latest album is a lot more fun than misunderstood yet with tracks such as love song you still see a more intimate side to pink. Everyone seems to be commenting on her looks...i thought music was about the songs? but on the looks front i think she's really beautiful her figure is amazing and the girl is giving a message to a generation of kids that it's fine to be yourself and stand up for your beliefs.

Pink is one of those artists that doesn't try to hide her humanity from the public. She's very open about her swearing, drinking and partying- too much so many critics say. While I am not saying her behavior is appropriate, what I like about her is she keeps that honesty in all aspects. She is forthcoming about real life, broken homes, struggling with yourself and others. In a world of pop stars (that I admittedly like), it's refreshing to see an artist in a quest to make music that really represents her. Her styles frequently vary from album to album and the quality of her voice and songwriting is always good. I hope she continues in being honest and herself but with less self-destruction.

Her songs are real....like her. It IS cool to see someone in a very uptight business being herself and not caring what ANYONE thinks. And a female who doesn't feel pressured to be a Barbie doll wannabe. Lately her songs are so diverse....none sound alike at all...and i enjoy the beats!

Her First album was very much "RnB" which I didn't really like. I also thought she was a little to upset for my taste in music. Though I liked "Most Girls" when I first heard it on the radio. I don't think RnB was the type of music Pink wanted to play in the first place, but let's face it, it's hard to have a break trough in the U.S with anything that isn't RnB or pop. Pink knew this, and so she did an album with a mix of that. And it worked, didn't it? But I didn't start to like her until I heard "Don't Let Me Get Me" which is porbably one of the best pop songs ever written. Her music on the new album is a mix between punk, rock and pop, which I love. Her lyrics are alot about pain and I can really relate to almost all of the songs. She's very talented, but wearing clothes every now and then wouldn't hurt. It seems the only way for a young girl in todays music buisness is to show her midriff and try to look as much as Britney as possible. It's nice to see someone like Pink singing about other things than love and boys, and maybe she'll even start to dress as she sounds one day.

Finally someone who's gutsy enough to be herself and be herself in pop music.

Her music is more like resentment/revenge. Many girls would agree with her because her lyrics speak for itself. She's a great artist at heart and has such an influence on teens, mainly in a positive way. Girls look up to her and some many follow her footsteps.
