It is going to happen in some form for as long as God allows the childish human race to exist. Privatization is a great idea, but we should never take the government totally off line here. What would be wonderful is if this one thing, just this one thing, could be done on a global basis with global backing with a global committment. That would offset the tremendous cost inflicted on the few countries that can somewhat afford to do this. With issues such as incoming asteroids and comets, a dwindling fossil fuel supply, the world garbage and population problem, and an ever increasing need for new food and water sources, it would be foolhardy to give up on the only unlimited opportunity we have to solve the problems.
