I think there should be a national write-in campaign to the networks complaining about augmented laugh tracks, pointing out that they are insults to our intelligence. A "Rolling in the isles laughing your ass off" on every line brands us as stupid.

does anyone ever notice that it's all the exact same laugh?

The only show that I will let slide on laugh tracks is M*A*S*H.

I saw the miniseries "Fresno" in its original form without a laugh track. It was so cute! I missed the very beginning and one of the episodes, so I decided to watch it again the next time it came on. Well, the next time, they added a laugh track! It made me so mad! I got so disgusted I turned off the TV early on in the first episode. Part of the fun originally was discovering the humor for myself, seeing the little things that went on in the background. By adding a laugh track, they ruined it.

I like laughs during a sitcome but sometimes the producers do it all wrong and I can't watch the show.

Very common on TV, but they are most annoying when you hear them on the radio. There's this one radio station that plays the laugh at the same volume, and ends it sharply and abruptly without any fade. If you listen closely enough, you can hear people whispering in the background laugh button, press the laugh button, damn it! and the other host whispers back, shhhh!

I can take or leave them. All I know is I don't think they're needed. I've heard, more often than not, when the laugh track just roared when the remark made or stunt done wasn't the least bit funny to me. Look at all the great comedy shorts that were made before they invented laugh tracks, such as Laurel & Hardy, Our Gang, and so on. Hey, folks, this stuff was genuinely funny! And do we hear any phony-baloney laugh track? Well???....

It's great when the show is funny, not great the joke or show sucks.

I wouldn't know. . .I watch FOX News for my comedic enjoyment.

Hey, if I think it's funny then I will smile or laugh depending on how funny it was.

Laugh tracks remind me of going to work and hearing a boss talk to the people that work under them, and hearing the employees push out some fake, overdone laugh at any half-joke the boss makes, and the end of that laugh trail off when the boss walks away.

I hate laugh tracks myself. they are annoying sounding because they are so fake. They use the same track from the ones from the 1950s. Plus it is insulting to tell me when i should laugh.

I like laugh tracks, and I laugh more when one is present when they are not. These moronic sitcoms without laugh tracks OR live audiences are quite the disturbing trend.
