This is not a place to send your child.... If you need somewhere in this area for your child to attend daycare... try the Active Learning Center... (a little more expensive.. but that doesn't matter when you want your child to be in a safe environment!!).. Can't tell you how many times, my kids were sent home with bite marks or bug bites up and down their legs because she did not take care of all the insects outside where the kids play. One day, my son came home with his front two teeth broke and did not even send him home with an accident report. I had pictures of my son the day before on my phone with him smiling and his teeth was fine until the next day at school where they were broken and no one could even explain to me why. Or how many times I would come to pick up my son and he would by playing by himself in the corner while the teacher was cleaning on the other side of the room instead of interacting with my son. You kids will be sick all the time and come home with diaper rash ... Read more

This was my 2nd time dealing child care. My oldest attended Active Learning Center while it was a pretty good school they were extremely expensive. A to Z is affordably priced, the teachers are great. i get random calls from them, just letting me know how my daughter is doing. The teachers actually try and teach the children versus watching them like most do. My advice is visit the school and compare them and I am sure you will end up bringing them to A to Z. Don't listen to the bad reviews for this place, probably just bad parents who want someone to watch their kids so they don't have to. My daughter has been here for one year and I would never think about sending her anywhere else.

Just A to Z Academy is more than a daycare. The teachers and staff there work diligently and hard to ensure that all children get a quality education while they attend. The curriculum is excellent and the staff is very caring! Just A to Z set a standard to which I will hold all other learning centers!

I was asked to write a complaint for a friend who’s upset about her experience with this preschool and it so easy to write one that I would be upset if this was my business that anyone can complain and continue to complain if they wanted to. I felt bad because I’m the one who sent her to this preschool because a friend’s of mine child graduated from this school and is doing extremely well in school. My friend said she didn’t pay but attended the whole day and that may be the reason she was asked not to return and no other reason. I hope when people read this they know that there are two sides to every story and complainers complain and miserable people love misery. I know three people whose children attended and one still attending and they absolutely love this place. She said the send home newsletters and has calendars and a PTO for communication and has been doing so since they opened. To each it own. See the school for yourself and decide.

I have read all the reviews on the facility and I will tell you from experience that these negative comments are not true. Price is a issue everywhere. Put gas in your car today? Just A to Z Academy is one of the few centers that has a parent committee and It is held quite often. In the meeting the Director, who is also the Owner ask the parents how things are going from a parents stand point, any issue that we as parents have, and Informs us of things coming in the future or any changes. So, if some of these comments made by some people should have been addressed in the parent meeting. Then you could have given the director a chance to correct the issue or situation. I am sure she would have addressed your concern/s what ever it may have been. The director/owner is willing to met with anyone just schedule an appt. Ulike some larger center were you never see the owner. We are taking our children to a really good center and they do a really good job with taking care of them and t... Read more

This is one of the best preschool within this area. My child attends and has been there since it opened. This school has a three-star rating, which every preschool desires to have. This preschool has a Parent Teacher Organization that opens the floor for communication, which some have forgotten is two-way. It sad that people are asking for this great preschool to be shut down and they are doing it for "whom". If they are gone, move on and be happy. I bet those within the preschool are just as happy that you are gone as much as you "claim" to be happy. These emails sound bitter and these "parents" are in much need of forgiveness and prayer. This anger should be taken with a grain of salt and do some real research about this preschool on your own starting with the parents who are there and know what type of service they are getting - a great preschool for their children who attend. They are accomplishing this and more. This preschool is in demand not only from the children wh... Read more

This daycare is unfit for any child. My child attended there and yes, I did take her out after giving Mrs. Tate the benefit of the doubt. She is a fake example of a director. My child too, came home with other peoples clothes on. My child's sippy cups were lost twice. My child had never been so sick then when she attended that place. After having my second child, I feel so blessed to not have to send my child one more day. I too, feel with as many times as this place has been on probation it should be shut down. I only hope more parents see through Mrs. Tate and take their child out for their own safety.

I don?t agree that this place needs to be shut down, but it does have its problems. I am a grandparent taking care of two grandkids and I pulled them out of this daycare. And ?Daddy of 7?, don?t be naive. Of course a daycare is going to paint a rosey picture when you check them out. They want you to choose them. Why would the tell you about any problems or give you references of parents who had bad experiences? Think about it? I don't understand why would you even write a review if you haven't enrolled your kid(s) yet?? And ?HershyKiss1? since you think it?s your place to question the experiences of others ? let?s examine your statements? If you think turnover is simply ?an industry standard?. You haven?t researched other daycare facilities very well. My grandbabies are now in a daycare that has had stable staff for 6 years. I found 2 other daycares who had retained staff longer than that. At A to Z the turnover is stunning. And yes, there have been Hispanic workers who ... Read more

I have had my kids here for years the director is a great person and is truly concerned about the kids that go to school here. The school has three stars. Unlike the other comments about do not let it fool you they get stars for a reason. Any one with common since knows that there is going to be turn over in this industry. The director has not changed and she is great. Let me give you and example of true child care. I was running late one day and called to let her know, she said take your time your child is having fun w/ my kids. I told her I was going to be about a half hour late. she offered to take my child to the mall with her kids and feed them I told her I would appreciate that if it was not to much to ask. She said it would be her pleasure things happen from now and then and she understood. Once I got to the mall my child and her kids were at say cheese having a ball and playing games. I asked Mrs. Tate what did I owe her and she said do not worry about it and she refused ... Read more

I am a father looking for childcare which is accessible to my work. I have checked into this preschool, by way of other parents which highly recommend Just A to Z Academy. Although the rates may seem to be expensive, I have compared them with other centers in the surronding area and have found they are resonsable. I had my wife meet with the Director and visit the school. She had nothing but high praise for this academy. Some of the comments I received from parents of currently enrolled children are: *Loves the fact that she can go to work and know that her child is being very well taken care of. *The staff is very nurturing and loving to all of the children, not just the ones in their classroom. * The Director is very knowledgeable and always willing to assist any parent with any questions or issues that may arise. I have every intention to enroll my children and encourage other parents to do the same.

The comments left by drgirl3859 were far-fetched. My daughter attends this daycare and in the 2 1/2 years that she's been there, I have only seen police out front one time, and that was when it was COMMUNITY HELPERS DAY and a police officer came to speak to a class. It is remarkable that all of these negative comments were left yet everyone allowed their children to continually go to the school. I am shocked to read remarks about the "past staff who could barely speak English?. The one teacher that you are referring to was one of the kindest people I have ever met. She constantly nurtured the babies and played with them. She gave each one special attention and tended to each one?s needs. And how dare you imply that just because the owner is an African American woman, she charges African American people less money. I am an African American and the fees I pay are the fees that are clearly stated on the fee sheet. What does it say about you people as parents to send your children to a pl... Read more

OMG!! I can't believe I've found these comments... We have just put our DD on a waiting list for another place. It just breaks my heart to leave her there each morning. She has been getting nasty diaper rashes in the last few months because they are only changing her about three times a day. Three times!! She has been sent home with sh*tty diapers more that I care to remember. One day I even said, "Do I smell a dirty diaper?" The lazy teacher didn't even get out of her chair to check. She just said, "Nope, I just changed her." I get DD out to the car and she has sh*t up her back, on her shirt, on her pants. I went right back in and made the lazy a*s get out of her chair and clean up my baby. We need to SHUT THIS PLACE DOWN! Call the TN child care hotline 1-800-462-8261. Tell your story to someone who can DO somehting!!

I had the same problems as the others listed in the reviews. I finally took my child out after seeing three new teachers in one week! I was also told there could have been a "potential" abuse in the school by one of the temporary teachers! We repeatedly were told that things would get better and the lack of communication was frustrating! The Director seemed to only show up to work when the checks were due and would not return repeated phone calls. Children were always sick and the teachers were obviously fed up with being overworked. This is not a situation you want your child in everyday. Blue Ribbon, 3 star or whatever don't be fooled be these so called "ratings". This place is Just Awful.

This daycare is scary and getting worse!! We had our child there until we got to the point where we simply did not feel our child was safe. Here are some of the problems we had: +Very high staff turnover. There have been past staff who could barely speak English. +Inadequate number of staff especially in the mornings. Most days there were only one or two "teachers" there for all of the kids being dropped off. +Poor communication. I can't tell you how many times our child was moved from room to room without any communition to the parents. Another problem of staffing. +Door code is not changed at regular intervals. A lot of times the door lock does not even work. We have seen the door standing open many, many times. Or we could not get into the building. +Cold building. On winter days, the kids have to keep their coats on until the buidling is heated. Most rooms use those small portable heaters. Very dangerous burn hazard for small kids & fire hazard. +Poor sanitation,... Read more

HIGH turnover. 3 complete staff changes since August. My child will really start to like a teacher and then they will leave or get fired. Director seems to have priorities eslewhere. Communication poor between staff and director. I recieved a letter that my childs teacher was fired, but that was not true. I was relieved because my child really liked her. Then, mere weeks later she was gone with no notice until weeks later! I would not recommend Just a to z academy to anyone!

This facility is very expensive, there is no communication with parents. The turnover in staff is tremendous. My child never had the same teacher. Everytime my child got attached to someone they stopped working there. While dropping my child off I've been left with other children to watch while the young teacher left room without notifying me. Staff is inexperienced. I've had teachers complain that it was under staffed. Picked child up with heavily soiled diaper, shoes on wrong feet (which we were told wasn't a big deal). Facility is clean. I would not recommend.

This day care is very expensive, and important information is not responded well to parents. I was very saddened to walk in a few times and the teacher's not be aware of where my child was. Just when my child would become attatched to an adult they would leave. They had several teachers that were not prepared for taking care of children. I was not impressed by this center.

Rules change regularly and are not communicated to parents effectively. Turnover rate is high. Facility is very clean and children are well cared for. Cost is higher than most and Just A to Z requiures parents to provide sundry items including tissues, hand sanitizer, wipes, etc that other facilities do not require.
