The greatest? Smarty is a great horse, he blows his current competition out of the water. As for as calling him the best current horse, I would make not objections. But, if he wins the Belmont, a person can begin to talk about him with the likes of horses on this list. It is my opinion however that for the time being, it is a little premature to be giving him 5 stars when you are talking about the greatest horses of all time. If he wins the Belmont, my opinion might change, by for the time being, I don't think he should be ranked so high with the likes of Secretariat and Man O' War. The Belmonts will show if this horse is just a one or two hit wonder, or the real thing, kind of like that horse a couple years ago, War Emblem, who went for the triple crown but didn't seem to show up at the Belmont.
