Drinking water in the morning will help, but it is certainly better to get some water in your system before you go to sleep/pass out.

This actually works pretty well because it re-hydrates you BEFORE you go to sleep. You need to drink a good bit though. I always chug at least 2 or 3 glasses.

Best before drinking, good when you wake up. Don't chug water before you go to sleep, but a glass will definitly help.

Only needed a "hangover cure" once, and this one seemed to do the trick for me.

The best way to attack a hangover is to hit it before it hits you. Don't wait til the morning to put food and drink in your body.

By definition this works. A hangover IS dehydration. You probably won't even have to pee during the night.

drinking water when your WASTED is a stupid idea. "lets take someone whos already prone to pissing in their sleep, and give them more liquid." no. its dumb. the frat dude who drank a glass of water with tylenol everynight after drinking? who the hell takes advice regarding the well being of their body from a frat boy? probably other frat boys, and people trying to convince themselves that they can take medication that clearly says "do not mix with alcohol" while out binge drinking. -kevin p.s. if you want to cure a hangover, you need to think abou the depletion of essential elements that your body just experienced. what do you know of that you can drink that will replenish your vitamins...8 of them at least. cough cough.

Works very well to reduce the severity of the hangover. Putting back at least a half litre to a litre is advisable. You might need towake up early to take a leak, but that's the whole point - to help flush your body of alcohol and keep hydrated. Usually if you've been drinking heavily, you're alredy pretty dehydrated, so much of the water will just be absorbed. Most people with a healthy bladder won't be getting up to pee all night. Popping a vitamin as well can't hurt, as alcohol does deplete certain vitamins.

Before I go to sleep I try to drink about 1/2 of a gallon or more(the more the better). Works like a charm.

Drink it yes, but chug? I think that would require that make a quick call to Ralph on the big white telephone.

Then I'll be running back and forth to the bathroom all night.

A very good chance you will end up wetting the bed, depending on how drunk you are.

During my fraternity party days at college, we drank quite a bit. LOL. But, I was never hung over the next morning. I drank a huge glass of water right before crashing in bed for the night. If you add 2 Tylenol in there with your water, that's even better.

Rule of thumb is to drink 1 8-ounce glass of water with every alcoholic drink so that your body does not get dehydrated and you do not wake up with the pounding headache. But, what fun is that. I usually resort to the stick-my-head-under-the-faucet-and-chug right before I go to bed, but I don't have a stomach big enough nor can I stand up long enough to make up for all those 8-ounce glasses I missed during the course of the night.

This is a no brainer. Sometimes it helps, sometimes it doesn't.

Certainly the most scientifically plausible... this will reduce the amount of alcohol you absorb (you will pee a lot of it out rather than taking it in to your bloodstream) so it should reduce the intensity of the hangover. Also since a lot of the headache is from dehydration, this ought to help on that end too.
