Alan Trammell is mighty po-lite and thankful to me fer learnin' him how I picked 'em when I wuz a Detroit Tigers short stop. I learned him good. He wuz NOT so preshutive that he gave me no promise 'bout 1 per cent of his celery like Raul Mondesi and Mario Guerrero. See, peepul's all ways thankin' that them ketchers got all the smarts in base ball. No Sir. The short stops is the smartest. I don' mean no book learnin'. I mean baseball learnin'. Alan Trammell couldn't pick 'em like me but he cum close. His bat is mighty fine. He blongs in that there Holler Fame. But he ain't. Wanna know why? Well I dun told him no messin' round dressin' up like Frank N. Stein on that Holler Wean out there in fancy Cally Forny where Jed, Ellie May and sum of my famous kinfolk wuz livin'. But he commenced to do it and his knee bent the rong way and he couldn't run so good no more. Then I told him not to be throwin' no rocks at them squirrels when he cums to visit me in Sandersville to get my add vice on pickin' 'em. He still likes to set a spel with ole Cooter. But them rocks, shore 'nuff he throwed out his arm. Them's the onliest 2 reasons why he ain't up there in Coppertown. He dun listened to me sum times but not alla time like he shoulda.
