I just want to say if you have not tried the BELMONT ROLL....you are missing out on the most delicious thing I have EVER eaten..no joke. I have severe cravings for these often. I have tried many other items and so far everything was great but once I tried the Belmont Roll I do not even bother looking at the menu...it is unique because the last step in making it is they drop it in the fryer for just a second so t comes to you warm with a crisp outside and delicious cold inside....TRY IT!!!!!!!!! HA, after writing this I am going to have to go get one NOW!

Been to PM and House of Yum several times and really like all the food that I have had there. Went on a business dinner last week and we ordered some small plates and some sushi. As usual the small plates were great, the sushi was so bad we only ate a couple of pieces and left the rest.

Well first we have frequented PM for the last 4 years since we have lived in Nashville - NOT ANYMORE! We really enjoyed the sushi but it is not worth the horrendous service we have experienced time and time again. This can range from lack of attention to absolute rude behavior. The manager Ross once even complained about the amount of tip we left him! Last visit was on a Tuesday night and the bartender (girl with dreads) never gave me a beer glass after asking for it two separate times! Then she copped an attitude when we moved our tab to a table instead. There are two great waiters (don’t know their names unfortunately) but that is it! Since we have been disappointed time and again with the service we have found some other great sushi places - Wild Ginger (Cool Springs), Toyama (Nippers Corner Brentwood) and a place on 2nd Avenue (can’t remember the name) These places all have great sushi and you can actually have a pleasant experience! If you look at the reviews you can see ... Read more

I went to PM for lunch the other day with some girlfriends. We had a great time and truly enjoyed our experience. The cocktails are superb. I highly recommend the blackberry mojito and the white sangria cocktail. The sweet potato fries are a must-have. They have plenty on the menu for those who don't like sushi, but the sushi is very good. I had a thai chicken wrap--it's huge and the peanut sauce on the side is amazing. I will be returning to try dinner one evening soon.

I love this place! Sushi is great, burger is awesome, crab wantons are to die for! Conner and the curly red headed guy are the best servers request them and tip them well! I am a regular for a reason...

Decided to go here for dinner on Saturday last week. When we entered into the resturant, the hostess did not even acknowledge us. Finally when I said can we get a table for two... the hostess finally sat us down. We ordered some sushi and entres. Now I am a big sushi lover... this place the sushi does not taste authetic at all... I wouls suggest going elsewhere if you want good sushi. The service was not good either... the servers feel that they are above you somehow. Avoid!

We came into PM last night, and just wanted to express how great of an experience we had. We had been in once before a while back, and came in this time with another couple. We had to wait a little bit, but--isn't that the sign of a good restaurant? I wouldn't want to eat at one that is never busy... (We drive/walk by a lot and they seem to be always busy! Good for them!) Our service was pretty good, no real complaints (wasn't outstanding, wasn't terrible) but the food that we ordered, a few small plates and sushi (the Florida roll and the San Fransisco are awesome!) was really good. We each had something different, and we were all happy. I loved the drink I ordered-- you MUST try the Asian Pear Martini! Just wanted to make a comment! Sorry some people had bad experiences... but we've been happy twice now!

This place has TERRIBLE service. It took awhile for my food to arrive, the waiter ignored us the whole time and when I asked for service he reacted like it in a sarcastic way. I have been here multiple times before and each time the food is below par and the service has been horrible. I don't know how much longer this place can stay in business if the service continues to be this horrible. Also, if you want real sushi, don't go to this place.

It seems like PM has its staff writing rebuttals for each bad review they receive to keep up their ratings. First of all, the service I received from the MANAGER of the resturant was horrible. My burger was burnt so I notified the waiter. He asks "what do you want to do about it?". T give one piece of advice to the PM MANAGEMENT... when a customer complains your job is to FIX IT! Don't ask the customer what they want to do... JUST FIX IT. My burger was burnt the first time and it was burnt the second time. If you want a picture of the burnt burger just let me know. I do not recommend this place to anyone nor will I ever spend a dime here again!

A group of friends and I used to frequent PM's monthly. The atomosphere has changed. The service is terrible, the staff acts like they are too good for you. Last I remember, I am the customer and you need my business.. But, with its location they are always going to get a new set of customers that think thats the way service is around that area... Screw that, I'll spend my $$ somewhere else. I called to see if I can make a reservation for a small group a few weeks back. I was rudely told "NO" on the phone, I even asked politely again just to see if I was hearing the guy on the other line correctly. And he responded again "Ummm, NO, do you not understand "NO". Seriously with service like that, I dont expect them to be in business long.. Go somewhere else for late night drinks - plenty of other choices. If you want late night eats.. , heck RUSAN has better service and thats setting the bar pretty low...

The previous review just baffles me because my girlfriend and I sat right next to these folks on Saturday night. I'm slightly embarrassed to admit that we are guilty of people watching but this interaction caught our attention. We had the same server, who was very attentive and pleasant and we actually remarked how patient he was with these people. I'm not going to go into a long explanation of the event. Quite simply the girl wanted a grilled burger without any charring from the grill. ?? Duh! How can you order a burger and not expect an amount of charring? You put meat over a flame and this happens! It reminded me of when I waited tables in college and how ridiculous people can be.

My girlfriend and I and our good friend decided to eat at PM for dinner on a Saturday night. I ordered the roasted tomato soup and an order of crunchy crab roll. My girlfriend ordered a burger with fries. She was asked by the waiter how she wanted the burger cooked. She requested it be "cooked thoroughly". The burger came out very very burnt. We then tried to get the waiter's attention to show him how burnt the burger was. The waiter comes over and he asks "whats the issue?". We replied saying that the burger was burnt. The waiter had a look on his face "and your point?". He then said "so.... what did you want us to do about it?". We responded with "can you replace the burger with one that is not burnt?". He then goes on to say "but you asked for the burger to be well done?". Now the burger is totally burnt. We responded by saying that we just wanted the burger to be cooked thoroughly. He said "I have to get the manager". Manager comes over and again tries to say it was... Read more

PM has become one of my favorite places to eat, day or night. The cocktails are delicious--and I'm usually not one for cocktails, but the Passionfruit Sparkling Sangria is, as a waitress once put it, "heaven in a glass." Reasonably priced food, good sushi, amazing burgers and definitely try the edamame, for a cheap, satisfying snack that you'll eat all of without blinking. The little plates are good if you are hungry but don't want to spend a lot of money- $5, $6 will get you a quality, filling meal. I've never had a problem with the service, and I've been going once or twice a week for the last three or four months. All the waiters and waitresses have been nothing but friendly and attentive, and there is not better place to enjoy a cool night than on PM's patio.

We went for dinner a few nights ago on a weeknight. We waited because we wanted to sit on the patio, so we sat at the bar and had a couple or drinks. Only about a 20 min. wait, but it was well worth it b/c the weather was so nice! We ordered a few tapas and a few of sushi rolls. The sushi was very fresh and not heavy. Then we got dessert. The food came quickly and it was delicious! Our waiter was very attentive and so were the other waiters. It had a very relaxing vibe and we will definitely be going back soon. The prices weren't bad either! Great happy hour too.

We must've been there on a good night. Everything was great. Really pleasant staff, sushi is great, prices are really good. I really enjoyed it. Got there at 7pm on a Sat night and sat at the bar for about 10 minutes to wait for a table. Had a drink and then a great dinner. Loved the Summer Rolls and the sushi was delicious and REASONABLY priced. I will be back.

It's funny how reviews on here are of course from people who just had a negative experience. What person hasn't had a bad experience at a restaurant before?? Not everyone or place is perfect. I LOVE PM! It's turned around for the better in the past year...it used to be great, now its even better. The staff is unlike any staff I've seen. They are very friendly with their customers as well as with each other. You can tell the place is like an extended family to everyone apart of it... All these complaints about waiting too long and not being able to seat more then 7...the restaurant is small! It obviously is doing well, because it is ALWAYS busy...have you ever had to wait to be seated at a busy restaurant before? And most importantly, the food...wow. Talk about a very wide variety of dishes..all so tasty. Go and taste for yourself, you will not be disappointed!

I have NO idea what happened to PM recently but the customer service is ridiculous! I recently visited PM with a group of 13 Saturday afternoon. We raved about how great the food was to the "first timers." I ordered the burger with cheddar cheese ($.50 more) and grilled mushrooms ($1.00 more) and the Thai tea. I was THOROUGHLY disappointed! When my sandwich arrived I smelled something "spoiled." I smelled my sandwich and took a bit. The burger was not appeasing to my appetite. I told the waiter about the problem and asked if I could get a chicken sandwich instead. He went and asked "management," came out and told me that "if I wanted something else they would have to charge me for it." The Manager didn't even have the decency to come out and speak to me! I ended up paying $11.50 for the sandwich (with the automatic tip) and left hungry! The other people in my party weren't pleased with their meal either. Sad experience...

I loved PM's food and atmosphere, so did many friends. At some point it went into their head. You are treated very badly. If you move chairs around when sitting outside - even temporarily to catch up with a passing friend for a minute or two - the manager will frown at you and send his minion to admonish you for changing the seating arrangement. It has happened a couple of times to us. My friends and I are rule abiding people and we understand the need to keep things organized but the manner with which this was enforced was very rude. It didn't only happen to us. One time a party of four next to us added one more person. He wasn't allowed to sit at their table. We offered the person a vacant seat from our table. That wasn't acceptable. So we let the person sit at our table, yet the management gave him grief for even turning the chair to face his party. Yes it's THAT oppressive and childish! The food is so good that it would have made all this worth it. But this assumes that you get w... Read more

I started coming to PM four years ago when I moved to Nashville--it was quiet enough to have a conversation with friends, laid-back, and the food (especially) the burger was always good--good enough that the slow, inaccurate service was simply a downside. You could hang outside, have cocktails, order some food--generally a great neighborhood spot. I used to go at least 1-2 times per week and now I just get angry whenever I think about what's happened to my old favorite. Over the past 6 months--maybe a year--things have definitely changed. I don't think my food order has been correct once in the past 6 months (not a huge departure from before). What kills me now is the attitude of the Management--I say MGMT (as opposed to servers) because I think (hope) it's the rules and regulations outlined by the MGMT that has made PM unbearable. No more than 6 to a table? What if I have a 7th in my party? No luck. Forget about borrowing a chair or pulling one up to another table for a visit.... Read more

Been to PM several times. Sushi is always tasty and certainly reasonable. Bar specials are good too. Service is generally an issue. Not rude, just unattentive and/or forgetful. Out of the half dozen times I've been, I have yet to receive everything I've ordered. Still worth going to as long as your service expectations are not too high.

My husband and I recently read an article in Nashville's SCENE newspaper about the city's best burgers, and PM made the top of the list. As we had really only heard about its great sushi, we were a little surprised to hear that the burgers were such a sensation. So, we decided to go check it out. Not only was the staff incredibly nice and the patio area clean and pleasant, but the burger was also phenomenal! As the SCENE article predicted, the texture of the beef was perfect and simply bursting with different flavors. It was seasoned well, perfectly cooked, and topped with wonderful condiments such as sauteed straw mushrooms and wasabi mayo. Mmmmm... It was so good. And the sweet potato fries were great, too! We will definitely be back.

This was my first and last trip to PM. The service was terrible, the food is mediocre at best, and the manager was a total pill about having more than 5 people at a table. It took 20 minutes to get a drink, and several drinks ordered at the same time were brought out in sporadic 15-20 minute increments. Most of the orders (food and drink) were incorrect. If you crave abuse, and love love love to pay dearly for bad food, this is the place for you!

We used to go to PM all the time, however, because of one server, our visits to PM have been few and far between. After out last visit, I was completely discouraged until I called back to the restaurant to talk to the manager. PM is one of the neatest places in Nashville. Also, it has come along way since I moved here. The inside has been completely remodeled and looks amazing. Even the presentation of the menu has improved. I would venture as far to say that everything there has improved...EXCEPT for the service. We used to go to PM several times a week until we were waited on by Tina. Her name is not imbedded in my memory because of her fantastic service, but rather by her atrocious behavior. She is the worst waitress I have ever had. She is rude, makes mistakes, forgets things, doesn't bring you utensils while your food gets cold...things of this nature. This was the sixth time she has waited on us. After our last visit with Tina as our server, I wanted to never go back to PM again!... Read more

In response to Belmont Hoppers Comments on 5/17, We have dedicated the entire side patio to Smokers with Ash trays and benches. (as of October, there has been a smoking ban on restaurants) There are parking spaces behind the restaurant and at 2013 Belmont. Our Health score was an 88 and 92 so even if it were upsidedown, one would read the same and the other wouldn't make sense. As far as the menu, We have tried hard to provide a unique and high quality Chef driven product to the neighborhood at the fairest price point.

I will never go back to PM. There is absolutly NO parking. The parking supposedly "out front" is ONLY for the place next door! Also, there isn't any smoking anywhere; you have to stand in the street to smoke. We were seated at a dirty table in the back, near the health score. After our waitress took our drink orders, I looked at the health score more closely and realized it was UPSIDE DOWN! It made it look like they had a higher score! Nothing on the menu looked even slightly interesting, and everything was too expensive to just "try."

i always get the sushi at PM and its really great. i highly recommend their crunchy shrimp rolls. they have the best miso soup that i've ever had (and i've had a lot of miso soup). you are usually seated promptly and there are quite a few tables outside and on the deck. everytime i go for dinner, though, it takes forever to get my bill and pay it (forever meaning over 30 minutes sometimes). i would not recommend this if you are even the slightest bit in a hurry. also, the waiters never really even come by to give you refills. if something is wrong or if you need something else. you'll probably have to walk over and tell the hostess and it might get figured out in twenty minutes if you're lucky. it's such a shame because the food really is great. if you're not looking for good service and you have a lot of time i would recommend PM.

I cant say enough about this place! I dont know what everyone is saying about their staff being rude, as everyone we interacted with was nothing but nice!! The food was amazing...We did everything tapas style, and ordered several small plates, 2 main plates and several rolls to share. The cocktails are also fabulous. The only thing that i could say bad about PM is that there is always a wait. This is understandable though, as the small restaurant can only seat so many people, and they are always busy.

Waitress was unfriendly-- as if she were annoyed by simply having to interact with us. (And all we ordered were drinks, before we chose to leave!) Management clearly believes he can act like an a** and get away with it. I live in East Nashville and I've been to plenty "trendy" places. Hell, radius10 and Margot's don't act like this!? Come on, people. There's plenty of good food around here. You don't have to tolerate this service. Allowing pretentious restaurant staff to treat you like a panhandler doesn't make you hip!

This place is pretentious and unfriendly. I went there recently with a large party. Shortly after we were seated a hostess came and told us that we could not all sit at the same table because of restaurant policy. Then the waitress (who was the only person we dealt with from the time we walked in the door until we left who wasn't rude) asked us to move so I asked to speak the manager. When he arrived I asked why we couldn't sit at the same table or move two tables together. He gave us several reasons 1. The kitchen could not accommodate parties of more than 5 (however, it appears that they could accommodate more than 5 people as long as we sat at different tables??) 2. The table was not big enough for all the plates (we hadn't ordered any food yet) 3. Large parties become disruptive - in addition to being insulting this doesn?t explain why if we were at tables beside each other we would be less disruptive 4. That by sitting at a single table or by moving tables together we inter... Read more

I tried to go to this restaurant on a Monday afternoon. We had a party of eight people. We were comfortably seated around a large round outdoor table. The manager came outside and in a very rude and pretentious manner told us that only 5 people could sit at the table because only 5 plates would fit on the table. He also informed us it was too difficult on the kitchen staff (not the servers) to seat more than 5 people at a table. The manager did offer us a second table next to the one at which we were seated in order to accommodate our party, but he informed us that we could not move the tables together because it would interrupt the flow of the restaurant's outdoor patio. We immediately got up and left the restaurant. For the next 2 hours, as we were sitting at a neighboring restaurant, the table we had attempted to occupy at PM remained empty. Apparently at this Asian-fusion restaurant, feng shui is more important than customers on a slow night.

My wife and I tried PM one night about 1am as we were coming back from a comedy club in Nashville. As this being our first time eating there, we took a minute to look around to see if we were to seat ourselves or what. Well, there was a sign out that read "wait to be seated." So, what did we do? We waited by the sign for a good 10 minutes or so without ever complaining. Finally, a guy that was previously seated at the bar got up and seated us near some obnoxious kids. We took a minute to go over the menu and there were several dishes I would have liked to tried, but the waiter wouldn't give us time enough to look over the menu. On top of that, we had to watch as the table beside us made out with each other and then proceeded to throw their food at one aonther. After reading several other reviews, I am thoroughly convinced that while PM probably has good food.....I don't know because my wife and I left due to rudeness from staff and the scenery from the tables near ours.........their f... I went to PM one saturday night. There're about 12 people in our group. We got 4 tables in the back area of the restaurant in front of he restroom. We sat there about 10 mins before a server came over to take our order. Once all my friends got to the restaurant we decided to move the table together. The manager came out a few seconds after that. He pointed at us and said "Move the table back right away. This is a fire hazzard. You are not allowed to move the furniture in the restaurant. I don't go to your house and move your furniture around." I never been to any restaurant and been treated like we begged them for free food. He could have asked us politely with a professional manner. Instead he chose to demand us in an uncivilize manner. Overall food is marginal, service leave something to be desired, and the management has no respect for his patrons.

PM used to be a sort of mellow neighborhood bar, with mediocre food. Don't worry though, you can still get the same mediocre food, but with pretentious attitude! The prices have gone way up too, without an increase in quality. Lousy curry, with day-old microwaved brown rice? $12! When I complained to the waiter, he gave me attitude. Further proof that PM isn't in the food business.

Ok I don't know what PM's was like last year but I have had nothing but amazing experiences there. The food is incredible, I highly recommend the sake seared salmon also the sushi is really good and extremely affordable...sorry Virago's you've been replaced...plus their curry is great. I'm not going to lie I was a die hard Rumbas girl from day one in Nashville but PM's is fast becoming my new favorite place. But everytime we have gone there the service has been awfull. not just bad. the worst. forgetting to input orders and then avoiding you so they don't have to face up to the fact that they messed up. or if you get service at all. overall i would not go back just based on the service. there are a lot of sushi places in town, and i would happily trade some quality for polite, prompt service.

This is a great place to get a drink or enjoy a meal. The sushi is very good, and other menu items will not disappoint. I particularly enjoy the outside patio dining in the spring through fall. Gets a little busy early spring and fall with several colleges nearby, but otherwise you should really check this place out.

I love this place. Have had great dates here, as well as group outings with friends. If with friends, cozy up on the big leather sofas in the back. The service can be slow when they are busy, but everyone is friendly and knowledgable. The best part is the menu. Their food is consistently so wonderful. High quality but GREAT presentation as well. Their sushi is fresh, and they have the best sauces. Try the spicy peanut sauce fondue with crispy tofu. Their drinks are very reasonably priced (especially the wine and sake). Give it a try- it will soon become one of your favorite places too!

If you live around the Belmont area you should definitely make PM a part of your ritual. It might not be for everyone when the DJ is spinning as it does get loud however you can't beat after a few times being able to always find a friend inside when you go anytime. I still have yet to eat anything that I disliked off the menu. Great beer selection as a co-worker and I decided to "travel the world" on night. I didn't even know Sri Lanka made beer, did you?

If I could bathe in their Peanut Sauce fondue, I would. It's amazing. All the Sushi is really great too. I'm a fan of the location and the atmosphere. There are places for groups to sit, and places for intimate conversation. The only thing to watch out for is when they have a DJ spinning. The one show I saw was very cool but too loud for us to sit and talk. I haven't had a problem with snotty waiters, only busy ones that you might have to flag down on occassion.

You can't beat the quality of the sushi for the price. The menu items were hit and miss. The shrimp dumplings were small and taste free, the sweet potato bisque is to die for and I'll definately go back for the baby octopus salad. But, (isn't there always a but?) the service was nearly fawning the first time then the second time (same guy,) he was literally a non factor. He took my order and I didn't see him until I had to glare him down to get the check. Very attitude-y. Whatever, I'll just avoid his section.

I have passed by PM so many times since I started going to school in Nashville three years ago. Tonight was the first time I ventured through the doors. I loved my meal. I got a cheeseburger with sweet potato fries. Wow! This is one meal that I would get every time if the rest of food didn't look so tempting. My friend got the Lemongrass Chicken Fritters. I have to say they weren't that good, but the burger was and the food I saw them bring out to some the other patrons looked and smelled really good. We would both go back again. The ambience was really relaxed. We sat outside because it was a beautiful day. I highly recommend it. The people watching can't be beat.

In Short This Belmont-area eatery has a friendly vibe and plenty of space for locals to gather at the bar or lounge on leather couches in the back. Exotic touches such as Pan-Asian statuary and map tabletops lend an international flair. The menu echoes this theme with dishes influenced by many regions of the world. Most entrees are reasonably priced, with options including curried chicken rolls, Thai wraps and a peanut sauce fondue.

This place is right next to the college and when you walk through the door the first thing you see is the bar... so we immediately thought we'd made a huge mistake in coming for a romantic dinner. Then the menu came and we almost got up to leave at the sight of the limited choices. But once our waiter started talking, we eased up... by the first taste, we were hooked. Bottomline: what this place does, they do well. The desserts are to die for... I wish I could get the chocolate banana treats in mass quantities!!!! Ohmigosh... we'll go back just for that.

Loved the food, loved the service, loved the look of the place. Not so good for conversation, although this could be an after-10PM thing. My friend and I went in for a late dinner, and even with just a few low-key types there, the music was still cranked up so loud that we couldn't have a conversation without shouting. It's too bad, I'd go here all the time if I didn't have to fight Pink and Beyonce to be heard.
