Let's see: Hotter than the hinges of Hell, and nowhere to get dram of whisky or a snifter of beer. Cross this off for me.

Eh. I find deserts to be somewhat a romantic and aweinspiring sight. However, the public is so anti-american there that I dont think I would make it through a year. Although oil wealthy, the country is also relatively poor, due to a currupt royal family. it would be an experience...but then again so would be going down south

There should be negative numbers for this one. I've heard that we don't get very much oil from Saudi Arabia, if that's the case let's cut them off and boycott them until they lighten up on their human rights issues.

If I lived in the Saudi Arabian desert, I would have to travel miles to get water, plus a terrible country with terrible, mean people and no place to go there.

I have a friend who lived in Saudi Arabia for about two years working for a petroleum firm. For him and his family, it was hell. It's an extraordinarily traditional and repressed society. The climate is very extreme, especially with the heat in the summer. Tolerance for other ways of life is not permitted, even foreigners are kind of looked down on. I've traveled in the Middle East somewhat and I've always found the people to be very hospitable, they will open up their homes to you. However, from what I've heard, the situation changes somewhat when you become a foreigner living in their land. As for visiting a Saudi jail, lets just say that none of us want to go through that experience.

Do they have a SACLU there (Saudi Arabian Civil Liberties Union)? And for Enkidu, you probably would stand a good chance of spending a year in a Saudi jail if you went there (I know I would for sure). Not high on my list of places I still want to visit before I punch out.

Woah you'd have a better shot finding me in Alabama.

Saudi Arabia has a corrupt government. It has way too many fastidious rules and regulations. Sure, some areas are beautiful, but if you are a woman there, You're probably not allowed to leave the house.

No thanks. I think I'd rather spend a year in jail.
