I've always wanted to visit France and I'm intrigued about the culture over there. The fashion looks good, buildings and architecture amazing and food looks decent. I absolutely love French films (not the errotic kind), but there's always so much heart in what they do. Definitely worth considering as a permanent residence there.

I'll give it 2 stars because there are certainly many worse countries to live in. That being said, I've been to France on three separate occasions, and other than cheap wine, it basically just sucks. Just about everything is overpriced (other than wine). Everything is too small, whether it be cars, beds, doorways, streets, etc. If it's in France, it's mini-sized.

I lived in France for two months in 2004. The architecture and countryside are indeed very attractive. On the other hand, there is some truth to the stereotype that the French are arrogant. This arrogance, combined with France's cultural and economic stagnation, creates a suffocating ambience. No wonder the youth started rioting in Autunm, 2005.

I was obcessed with french language forever. No other language quite does it for me. I have learned a lot about French history and culture, some in school, some in my own research. I would give it a try to live there, I may still do it...

no! just...no! I think i'll go move to North Korea first...

I would if it weren't for the taxes and immigration laws.

I have come to the conclusion that there is only one way I can express my feeling toward France. Yes, it is crude. No, it is not articulate. Yes, I will have to alter it to get it past the censors. However, it does seem appropriate... FORK FRANCE!

I think I could be very happy there but I can't move there because I don't speak French. Also, I don't think I'd be well-liked over there since I am a native Texan, and I've heard the French particulary hate Texans.

If I wanted to live in a pansie ridden liberal society, I would move to Canada or California.

France seems alright, although i just don't feel any need to move there. maybe i would if Italy fell through. could live in Paris, travel around, track down places Proust and Celine haunted. visit Mr. Mojo's grave.

I'd like to try living in France for a while but not in Paris. People I know who have visited France say that outside the big cities the people tend to be a lot more friendly.

Fine if you like hairy women, stinky cheese and snails. Otherwise, I wouldn't give it a second glance.

Yeah, I'll move to France when they win a war- which is to say NEVER.

Immediately. The most loveliest country in the world...spent many happy times here and lived in Montpellier and St Raphael. Republicans are letting their politics rule their hearts. Sure, people are rude if you shout in English at them.

Come on now france!
Skipper-26 09/18/2004
Beautiful country, but people are so rude that gets ugly. The language is also annoying.

Not if you paid me. But I would go once a year to see Lance Armstrong whoop candy ass Frogs in their own race.

Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha. I'd visit if someone else were paying for the trip. But if a guy in one of those absurd little hats gets the nerve to spit on me for being an American than I'll shove a bottle of champagne so far up his ass that he'll be able to pop the cork with his tongue.

Boycott France! No chance I would move to this breeding ground of anti-Americanism.

Paris is very much like New York, for better or worse. Style, food, entertainment, all very classy. The rest of the country is mostly agricultural, and if you like old culture, it's all great. Everything seems very old, and many cultural and governmental situations are dictated by custom and not by any real logic. I'd love to retire there someday, as people generally are better at living for themselves and not for their employer.

A beautiful country, but I doubt I would ever consider living there given so many other choices. Language differences and a different cultural perspective from what I am accustomed.

my dream is to own a villa in the south of france, wake up every morning swim in the nearby lake, drink coffee while discussing literature, society and politics, write in my journal, play music and make love to an intelligent, beautiful, articulate musical french bakers daughter. Drink wine and eat bread and cheese. Oh im just dreaming here. It will happen though.
Enkidu 04/19/2004
Another country I'd probably take to pretty quickly, though I don't know enough of the language to get around. At least they have good food and wine.
BugahaNE 04/19/2004
Politics aside, I don't think I could ever live here. Not sure, I'd just feel uncomfortable and homesick.
