XM made a terrible mistake in dumping Mark. XM-175 is no where close to the greatness that it once was. I won't waste time commenting on what all the new "talent" lacks, just focus on how great Mark and Buck worked together, interacted with guests and callers. I was honored to be a small part of the show as a caller. Yesterday I heard my first spring training game with Pat Hughes and Ron Santo. The joy of hearing baseball again was tempered by the thought that I wouldn't enjoy hearing Mark, Buck, et al talk baseball and discuss all the new and classic Santo-isms. As an XM subscriber and BBTM listener from close to the begining, I am very disapointed in XM's descision to ax Mark. Stay Hot, Bob From New Haven

GoGiants, so nice that you are spewing your venom here too.  We all await the day that you compliment anyone.  Mark was instrumental in providing Home Plate with its highest rated program.  Not good enough for you?  Move along down the road.

Even if you weren't a fan of Mark Patrick (I admittedly was), it is hard to imagine anyone claiming that XM 175 has been improved as an overall baseball channel since Sirius took it over...well, it IS raunchier and has more of an emphasis on New York and Bahstin, if that's what you like.

I think Mark Patrick was the best thing on XM radio, and I don't listen to 175 anymore. He made the game more than a game. He really has a way of getting the listeners involved, and educating us in a fun way about different aspects of baseball. His personality is fun, caring and what I have come to expect from a baseball show host. XM/Sirius really dropped the ball on this one, no pun intended.

Everyone is entitled to his/her opinion. But any baseball fan that feels XM 175 has been better served by the loss of Mark Patrick, does not follow baseball close enough. Mark knows his baseball, was great at setting up Buck for the "inside" take. Homeplate 175 will never be the same again with Mark Patrick. He knew how to make it sound like he was in the room with you talking baseball instead of an AM sports talk call-in show. XM as a baseball source with the changes made this far is no longer viable for me.

What Mark Patrick brought to XM was priceless! The reason he was the best, was because of his undying love and passion for the game! He was always prepared, and his quick wit and sense of humor could carry the show by itself. If you prefer to listen to a generic type Sports Radio announcer, who is nothing more than your every day Disk Jockey, then be my guest. For those of us who have had the best ( MP), we cannot settle for the rest. I hope that the day will come again, when I can tune in and hear the voice of Mark Patrick on air. It's true that nothing stays the same, but nothing has been the same on XM since MP has been gone.It would be in the best interest of Sports Radio and XM, to beg Mark Patrick to return. If you are looking for high ratings, MP is the guy to get them for you.

"Everyone is entitled to his/her opinion. But any baseball fan that feels XM 175 has been better served by the loss of Mark Patrick, does not follow baseball close enough." Really, Dnelms? I'm 48, and have been a passionate fan since the late 60s. I love XM 175 and I love MLB TV. I follow this great game as passionately now as I ever have. I'd put my knowledge of the game up against you any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Know what? I absolutely HATED Patrick, and am thrilled that he's gone. Does he know the game? Sure he does, but so does every other announcer on XM 175. Know what else? These don't need to resort to worn-out shtick to discuss the nuances of the greatest game ever invented. Patrick is obviously in love with himself and the sound of his own fake radio-guy voice. He needs to take his big chair, outstannnding and other catchphrases to some podunk town, where he belows.

Mark is a true pro. He's got the range to handle callers, interviews and fly solo without missing a beat. A rare talent that deserves another show as soon as possible.

If mark Patrick left XM radio, I would drop my subscription. The combination of Mark and Buck Martinez is the baseball show I would expect to hear in heaven and I am certain that baseball will be the only sport available in heaven. Michael Fahey, Newark ,De.

MPOS is the best!! His stuff is some of the most innovative I have ever heard and I miss him terribly!!  His show on XM is top notch but I would rather him do ALL sports, not just one. The sports talk stuff of today is soooooooooo boring!!

Mark Patrick is the funniest radio host I've ever heard. His creativity was off the charts, one of the most talented sports radio hosts ever. Boring losers like Jim Rome aren't fit to lace his wingtips. It's a crying shame he doesn't do MPOS anymore. All these morons who hated him are obviously low on intelligence and have no sense of humor. Their loss. Patrick is a legend

MARK PATRICK SHOULD GO BACK TO AM RADIO.HE THINKS FOLKS HAVE XM TO HEAR HIS OPINION."I" IS HIS FAVORITE PRONOUN.I LOOK FORWARD TO "MLB THIS MORNING" WHEN HE IS ON VACATION.THE REASON I GOT XM RADIO IS THAT IT IS NOT ABOUT THE HOST,IT'S ABOUT THE SUBJECT CONTENT AND THE GREAT INTERVIEWS.IF I WANTED TO LISTEN TO AROGANT SELF-CENTERED HOST,I'D SAVE THE XM SUBSCRIPTION FEE AND LISTEN TO ESPN ON AM RADIO.

He's rude to the callers. He acts like he's better than them. It almost never fails, you can really hear the tone in his voice change when he talks to someone he respects like Buck. He constantly interrupts callers. It's annoying. He has this sarcastic attitude that isn't funny and when you're sarcastic and can't be funny, it comes off as just mean.

I agree with Jim Fix. I listened to Mark for years locally, but only because of the station he was on. He's arroganr on the air, and more so in person. I ran into him at a restaurant and he acted like he was too good to say hi. I also work with a guy that went to high school with him. He said he was a jerk in school too. He's a nobody. His act got old real fast!

I liked his schtick in the late 80's to early 90's, then it got old. He was an arrogant smarty aleck even when the situation didn't merit it. Sometimes, it's what you don't say that counts! Oh well, I guess my opinion is that MPOS stands for something else, as in "Mark's a Piece Of .....".

I think Mark Patrick comes off as arrogant, condescending, and unfriendly. I really do not enjoy listening to him at all, but I like Baseball This Morning because of Buck Martinez and Orestes Estrada. When Larry Bowa AND Mark Patrick were on the same show together, I could not listen at all because they both come off as arrogant jerks - combined they made the show such a miserable experience. I don't understand how folks can appreciate Mark Patrick's style and "bedside manner" at all.

MPOS was the best! I miss it - especially the dressing down of the idiots that link themselves to teams with "MY Raiders" or "When WE play the Yankees next week." Jim Rome and his ilk, the Mike and Mikes etc. are contrived imitators. The only thing I miss more than MPOS is my youth. Also - be content with Karen's voice my friend. dayll

Mark Patrick rocked. I wish I had XM to listen to him again. I miss him on FOX or WNDE and I hardly listen anymore to those stations now that he's gone. He's 40x better than any other sports radio host out there in my opinion. Oh, and Dirk La Neck must have been at least OK since Jay Leno copied it shortly after he started doing it. ;)

I remember Mark...Patrick from Rtv and the Hoosier Lotto tv show. He has comedic talent -- some of his bits on Bob and Tom are brilliant -- but I never could accept him as a sports guy. I found him unwatchable as sports anchor with WISH, although Leno thought enough of him to steal some of his bits for The Tonight Show. He would be perfect as a sidekick for a more staid radio host like Dan Patrick. I think of him as the Hoosier Jim Rome.

He really IS arrogant and uses the same lame jokes and schtick over and over. He gets old really fast. His ego probably has not lost anything since leaving FSR, but what would you expect from an egomaniac? Basically...he sucks..I am really, REALLY surprised he has made it to XM. That is sad..and so is he.

I like Mark Patrick and miss MPOS on fox radio. I tire of the shows (see Sports Night on ESPN) that have no personality and play the irretating music while the hosts speak. Patrick is laid back, casual, and witty.

So MPOS is gone? I used to listen to him when I drove a truck route, he made me happy to have to wake up so damn early. Got a new job and was wondering when he dissapeared. Who else will police the airwaves for people who talk about teams being us,we,our... no more ball busting, damn.

Mark Patrick is arrogant and condescending. Enough of the schtick. "Big Chair", "Jason Mike", "Outstanding". It sounds like bad local radio. I had no issue with him initially on XM, but as time went on and his personality came out I began to listen elsewhere. I am a die hard baseball fan, but just can't stomach him anymore. Hopefully XM will get the message, but based upon the general response here, he seems to be here for a while.

I was completely floored when FSR apparently decided to dump MPOS. Although I am a huge Czaban fan, I truly miss the interaction between Mark an Ron Sexton. To think that Van Earl Wright and his tired stick was a good listen was just pointless.

Mark Patrick is a very funny man with a quick wit. I loved his show because it was much more than just sports. It was a reflection on many different life issues. The new XM baseball radio show does not give Mark a legitimate venue to really utilize his creative talents. He is quite simply the best, most enjoyable talk show host I have heard in my 49 + years.

I'm with "Jim Fix". Patrick's act is lame as hell. If you need impressions and canned laughter with your sports, you're not a sports fan. Rumor has it he got fired from local TV sports in Indy for trying to play salary hardball when CBS got the NFL years back. (Who remembers "Dirk La Neck"?) :-P He's a total homer and his sports insight is nil. He's best on satellite, that way if you want him you have to pay. Seems right.

Sorta like the David Letterman on Sports Radio. I remember when he annouced FOX radio didn't do a new contract with him. I was NONE too happy. Since he left FSR my listening to FSR went from fairly regular to nearly 0. He influenced my listening that much. Glad to here he landed on his feet and is now on XM radio. Too bad I can't hear him now and too bad he's probaly not in the best set up for his talents like he was on FOX Sports Radio.

what is big n***S? I live in Connecticut & had the pleasure of listening to MP in the a.m. for about a year. Then one day the station was gone & so was Mark. As a 30 year with a broadcasting background, i found MP to be 1 of the funniest on air personalities I've ever heard. Baseball is the least of my favorite sports so i probably will NOT get XM. But let me tell everyone That this guys is GOOD! MISS YOU MUCH IN THE MP, YOU ROCK.

As someone from Indianapolis, the home of Mark Patrick, I've seen him on tv and heard him on the radio for my whole life, and I can't say i'm unhappy about him being gone. Mark Patrick was a cocky, arrogant, jerk who didn't know jack about sports and knew even less about hosting a radio show. Give me JMV any day. I hope to never hear a crappy Bob Knight or Marge Schott impersonation again. good riddance.

I'm still reeling. It has gotten so bad on the radio since MPOS was taken off, I broke out my CD collection and refuse to listen to both the morning FOX show and the local show in the afternoon. Certainly I can't be the only one that sees how bad things have turned since MPOS was pulled.

I really miss MPOS in the morning. I tried listening to Steve Czaban and he is OK, but is probably suited for a later time slot. Mark's show was unique. The audience that he built was loyal. That loyalty is a rare thing these days.
