 | Djahuti (54) 03/09/2005 | This is nice to have, but wandering aimlessly with a good heart is no sin and some of the most driven people I've met are unhappy and probably barking up the wrong tree.

 | Donovan (130) 03/09/2005 | Very important! I believe strongly that everyone should have a goal and plan for their life. I started with my first job planning for a career. At the age of 23 I was able to land a job in my current field and now I'm 49. Life is full of opportunities with doors that open and some that close. I want my plan to always be in line with God's plan for my life. What I do on this earth is important but my most important plan is one day seeing my Lord and him saying well done.

 | Mr.Political (18) 03/08/2005 | Being someone who appreciates having a plan and constructing a structured approach to daily tasks I do enjoy it when I know what I'm doing. Unfortunately, that doesn't come around to often (lol)...

 | Sundiszno (30) 12/09/2004 | Important. I'd rate this as a 4.8 or so if I could. You need to know what you want, what's realistic for you to be able to achieve, and how to do it in order to be happy. At the risk of being flippant, politically speaking, most of the time I steer to the right, but there are times when I veer sharply to the left.

 | abichara (60) 10/17/2004 | Knowing that you're making a difference really brings happiness. Wandering around without purpose or aim makes for a very empty, unfulfilled life. Unfortunately not everybody can actualize their full potential.

 | kolby1973 (32) 04/20/2004 | Something that makes me very happy, knowing what I really want. It is horrible when you wake up in the morning not knowing what you are going to do with your life...at least for me anyways...

 | kamylienne (77) 04/19/2004 | Well, this could have two different meanings: 1) A sense of direction as far as having an idea of what goals one wishes to achieve is great and fulfilling; 2) A sense of direction as in north-east-south-west (something I shamefully admit that I lack) isn't essential, but would be nice to have.

 | minkey (36) 04/19/2004 | I need a sense of direction/goals. If not it feels like I'm spinning around in circles. They may change over time, but as long as I'm striving for something I feel like I'm getting the most I can out of life.

 | irishgit (138) 04/19/2004 | Having a sense of yourself and how to get where you want to go is, in my view, critical. A lot of people have goals, and in many cases they are ill conceived and unrealistic. Having a plan or even the rudiments of one for attaining your goals makes for a great deal of happiness.

 | Enkidu (37) 04/19/2004 | Note that this is very different from having goals though the two items may seem similar. Plenty of people know what they want to accomplish but not how to get there.
