TeresaG said exactly what I was thinking myself. It does look like the British flag. And that can't be too bad. After all, the Brits are our friends.

Nothin like celebrating the European concquest of a peaceful people. A great flag for Australia.

How British does THAT look? I love it!!!!!!!!

I guess the Union Flag commemorates Capt. Cook's visit in the 1770's. Too bad the flag designers included the Red Cross of St. Patrick. That was not in the Union Flag at the time of Cook's visit. It is a nice anachronism, however.

No palm trees? No volcanoes? No waves or surfboards? This flag is better suited to some cold, European place than beautiful Hawaii. One star.

A little too British looking for a place like Hawaii.

Yeah, I think I'll pass. Thank you for invading, though, Hawaii fans...

Distinctive, certainly, but seems silly for a state as gorgeous as Hawaii. South Carolina's flag would almost make more sense for Hawaii.

Visually striking, but I don't see how this represents Hawaii per se. I would have never guessed which state this flag represents.

I love the look of the Union Jack but for a state flage this seems somewhat Euro-centric to me. And would it kill them to recognize the native Hawaiians in some way?

Excellent use of color and the Union Jack in the canton is distinctive.
