It looks real American. At least it's red, white, and blue.

A little too much like Puerto Rico's flag for my taste.  Gotta be from Texas to truly love this solid, but uninspired, banner.

I love this flag ~ nice and simple (as is the whole state ~ HAHA).  Lone Star it is.

Call me prejudice if you want, but I love our state flag. It's simple, yet it stands out among other flags, perhaps because of it's simplicity. With all due respect to Willie Nelson, the designer of the Texas flag is unknown. Many believe the designer was Senator William Wharton who introduced the bill with the design of the flag to the Texas Congress in 1838. One cool note: It's the only one of the state flags that can be flown at the same level of the American flag.

Without actually studying state flags,I think of 49(including Michigan, where I live,as watching grass grow).I gotta think the Texas flag was designed by Willie Nelson.

It's simple, it looks good, and it's probably one of the few state flags readily recognizable by someone who isn't from that state.

I'm not saying this out of prejudice since I am a Texan, but after looking at other flags, there simply is none to compare. It's simplicity is what makes it so beautiful. While other states try to throw as much onto their flags, hoping you'll recognize some feature that makes you think of their state, the Lone Star says it all. We don't need a state shield, a half naked woman holding an olive branch, an animal or some other goofy symbol. This is Texas and all the good stuff we have here wouldn't fit on our flag. I suppose we could've put the Alamo on it, but I'm sure that would offend certain groups of people. No, I like the simplicity and colors of our flag. It is probably the most easily recognized state flag in the country...perhaps the world. Nuff said.

A classic - even people from other countries recognize this flag.

From a graphics/design standpoint this has to be one of the best state flags. Superior even to Old Glory.

I know it is just a mini US flag rip off but the one star and look is very dramatic and it is easy to copy and paint on buildings etc. Therefore you can stick it anywhere and it is readily identifiable by most people around the world.

Very patriotic with the main colors being red and blue, and the lone white star. Texans display this with as much pride as the US flag. I think many Americans would recognize this flag even over their home state flag (I for one forget what Connecticut's looks like).

People recognize the Texas flag long before they can recognize the New York or California flag, it is a simple design that has more history behind it than most countrys flags. The Lone Star flag is also the only state flag that can be flown at the same height as Old Glory, because Texas was at one time its own nation. This flag is something to be proud of as is being a Texan.

This flag is unique and is in the top five to ten best flags in the country. It is distinctive and brings to mind its state when you see it. That is the purpose of a flag.

I love the flag, and I love the title Lone Star State But it really does get too commercial sometimes.

Perfect for the Lone Star state. A lone star, the colors of the American Flag (also very Texas, and big, big stripes. It represents the enormity of the state, and yet is perfectly simple.

I get it mixed up with the Puerto Rico flag. Texans display it with pride so it's OK. That's all.

I'm biased, but I think the Texas state flag is the best. Simple yet elegant.

It gets one star for being the home state of GWB. This is actually the closest thing I've seen so far that somewhat resembles a state flag. I like the colors but it's to rigid.

Texas state flag is pleasing and simple. And the Lone Star makes it easy to remember.

Texas is the state of my birth, so of course I'm going to say Texas has a great flag. But actually the star is symbolic because Texas is the only state that has been a nation to itself. However, Texas has the option of splitting into 4 states if it pleases. Other Texas trivia: Texas beers include Lone Star and Pearl(land of 1000 springs).

The most distinctive and recognizable flag in the nation. Is that Texan arrogance? Of course not! The broad red, white and blue colors with the Lone Star makes the Texan flag stand out among the rest!

The Lone Star flag is recognized throughout the world thanks to its simple yet effective design.

Beautiful in its simplicity. Uses the same colors as our national flag, while at the same time it retains one lone star to signify that it was once a nation all its own.
