Let's see now, we'll take some Anne Rice dreck, add some heart throbs, Cruise, Pitt, Banderas, and Slater, mix it altogether and see what we get. TRASH! Avoid!

Anyone who takes this at least remotely seriously needs to check in for evaluation.

This is probably one of the worst movies I ever edured...Considering I read the book they left so much out and the casting was all wrong3

this was a great flick. not the greatest, but great. tom cruise, brad pitt, antonio banderas, all did a fabulous job. fun to watch, surely you didn't expect it to be frightening? 3

I thought it was made well, but I think the big name stars were a bit much. I would rather have seen this done with a bunch of unknowns who would seem to fit the parts better. I still have a hard time with the idea of Tom Cruise. When I read the book, I didn't see him. 1

I couldn't quite bring myself to give this 5 stars, but it's very good. One of the better vampire films. 1

This is one of my favorite vampire movies. Not because of scariness...we all know it isn't scary. I like it because despite the overpaid actors, it is a pretty movie. It is a pretty movie to watch. The costumes, the settings, the story. 1

Pretty bad...not scary. Nice sets, overpaid actors, but that's about it.1

One of the better Vampire movies I have seen...compare it to Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Puh-lease. Its not really a horror movie though. I can't think of anything that would scare someone, its just interesting. Good acting1

OK, so this movie looks good. Is it scary? Absolutely not. In fact there were times where I thought it was becoming a spoof.1

Absolutely pales in comparison with the book. One huge flaw was with the casting.I don't think Anne Rice was very pleased with the movie herself.0

Not too bad, but a little too operatic. . .too much whining and long speeches from the characters about what a vampire is or isn't supposed to do.. . 0

I will give the movie 2 stars for the excellent acting by Kirsten Dunst...but other than that the movie was a complete failure altogether. Anne Rice is a horrible novelist, and any movie based on her books is destined to doom most likely. Tom Cruise was just horrible and very unconvincing as well....don't waste your time or money on it...0

I enjoyed the book by Anne Rice and so I had high hopes for the film. However, it was quite disappointing. Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt may have been the handsome and popular choices for the lead roles but they certainly weren't the best by far. Wooden and unbelievable, I have rarely seen such bad casting in a role. I will say that Kirsten Dunst was chilling as the child vampire. This film just couldn't capture the same theme as the book. It drowned in its own extreme gore and couldn't even raise the hairs on my neck.1
