 | Sonny Boy (0) 03/23/2001 | Freddie King was one of three "Kings" that dominated the American blues scene. Albert and B.B. being the other two. Having seen all three "live" over the last 30 years,in my opinion, Freddie was the most bombastic and soulful of the three. A consummate concert performer! His mournful songs could make you cry and he was a guitar dynamo. His mid-70's records with Leon Russell were some of his best. Unfortunately, in Dec.1976, Freddie died of severe ulcers and blood clot conditions after a Christmas night concert at the young age of 42. A Texas blues legend!
