Just got done with dinner, and had to write a review. Friday night is alll you can eat fried catfish. VERY nice, heavily seasoned (which I love)...not for you if you are looking for typical fast-food-fish (i.e. all crunch, no fish flavor). My son enjoyed his grilled salmon. Almost forgot, the chowder, by the bowl or cup, is a must. Even the side salad, with dried cranberries, is just a little more than you would expect. Sure, everything is a tad expensive, expect a meal in the price range of Red Lobster ($13-$20); but the service and family atmosphere more than make up for it.

I have not been to this restaurant but judging by these comments, quite clearly the recommend comments where written by the staff and the not recommend comments where written by the general public. I think I will avoid this place, shame I like seafood…

I really enjoyed my visit. The food was really good. Especially the wings with their secret seasoning on them. I loved the service because the staff went above and beyond my expectation. I will definitely visit again!

After reading some of the reviews, I stopped by on the way home from work one day and ordered fish and chips for takeout. Though the staff was friendly, I was very disappointed in the quality of the food, especially considering the somewhat steep price. The fries were soggy, and the fish was chewy (never had chewy fish before). Next time I feel the urge to make a quick stop for fish and chips, it'll be at Captain D's.

English Dockside is phenomenal with every dish sent out--seasoned to perfection, and served by the friendly servers. Thomas is absolutely amazing with what he has done with the restuarant and his food. Not to mention this is the best seafood restuarant along with great burgers. All in all, English Dockside is where you can dine and leave satisfied with all that they do!

Being from the south, and knowing what seafood is supposed to taste like; I would have to say...VERY DISSAPOINTED! I heard about Dockside and recieved mixed reviews, me and my fiance decided to go try it out, and will never go back.

I took my wife to English Dockside because it rated Best Seafood in the Springs by the Gazette. My grill shrimp was very good, but my wife's crab on seasoned rice was TASTELESS. We have gotten much better food at Captain D's. I don't know what the reviewers had but our dinners we nothing to brag about and atmoshere is like Captain D's. Plus, expensive!

I have been a customer to English Dockside for all 3 years they have been open and everytime my family and I visit it, it is always a great experience. The owners Thomas and Stephanie have created a wonderful restuarant to get great food along with great service. I believe we have worked our way around the entire menu and I can assure you that the crab cakes are filled with blue crabmeat and everything is cooked to perfection. Without a doubt, whoever had that bad experience with the crab cakes and seafood platter you should have brought it to your waitress' attention and it would of been taken care of immediately. Thomas and Stephanie along with their staff are very friendly and would of corrected your meal without a problem. So I recommend that you should give English Dockside a second chance because it is the best seafood in town!

We (3) went to English dockside because it was voted the best seafood in Colorado Springs. What a disapointment! Breaded, fried seafood. Blue crab was tasteless. French fries limp. The shrimp was the only good thing in our meal. Crab cake was unlike any I've tasted. I could not detect any crab. The worst item we tried. Service was very good. If this is the best seafood in Colorado Spring, then this city has a real problem.

English Dockside is number one in the seafood business in Colorado Springs, and once they go world wide, in the world! The owner Thomas English is the best at what he does, he is the cook and basically the everything of the restuarant! He makes his own seasoning which makes English Dockside go beyond all other restuarants, especially Red Lobster! Red Lobster, as we all now, doesn't come close to fresh seafood, i mean FRESH is English Dockside's name, ENGLISH DOCKSIDE FRESH SEAFOOD AND GRILL! The service is at the top and the young girl, who is Thomas' daughter, takes the food to the extreme, because she makes the atmosphere of the restaurant comfortable. Now, if you don't like seafood i feel sorry for you but they have great wings, burgers and steaks. Especially the burger, in which they call it a slamma burger, because that burger is huge and filled with flavor. But seafood is the main reason to go to English Dockside, because it appeals to all cultures of seafood! If you are from the... Read more
