I have been here a number of times--the food is good, but twice I've paid with my debit card and left a cash tip. Both of those times, the waiter tipped himself/herself on my card in addition to the cash that I left! The first time I spoke with the manager and was lead to believe it was a mix-up and they fixed the problem immediately and it would never happen again. Six months later--happened again. I can assure you it won't happen a third time because I will NEVER dine here again. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone unless you are interested in being ripped off.

Love the nachos grande at this place, however you have to keep an eye on everything when you carryout, I ordered a (2) nachos grande with everything for myself and a group of co-workers at my job. When I got the Nachos back to the office and all divvied up we all realize there is no meat?? Called up to Holy Frijoles and spoke with the same guy Lesser who took the order, and he says just because I ordered grande doesn't mean the meat would come I tell him I asked for everything and I spoke with you when i ordered he doesn't take my name or anything just tells me to speak with the manager next time I come. The staff needs to lay off the mind altering substances!!!! I will go back and speak with either Nate or kristen then let you know how well they handle this dillema. My suggestion order all you want but eat in so if theres a problem you won't have to deal with the lack of ready response to issues.------------------- As promised I would follow up. I ordered carry out a week later and s... Read more

I have been to this restaurant on several ocassions and have always enjoyed myself, but my last visit left a bad taste in my mouth and less money in my wallet. My office did take out and i put it on my charge card. I didn't tip the guy on my card but with cash. I checked ,my statement and foud that instead of the $40 there was a $50 dollar charge. Come to find that the waiter tiped himself $10 after we left and then processed my card. Called to let the manager know what type of people they had working there and she totally blew me off. Will never go there again. If you decide to eat there DO NOT PAY WITH A CREDIT CARD!!

Great little Mexican restaurant with lots of great food. The bar area gets a little cramped, and the menu seems a little tired, but the fajitas are out of this world! The homemade chips and salsa you get when you're seated is worth the trip alone. Definitely the best salsa in Baltimore. One of my favorite restaurants in Baltimore and best places to drink a pint or two after a stressful day at work.

It's neither the best nor the most authentic Mexican restaurant out there, but it's still quite good, and it seems to be one of those places that everyone can agree on. It's definitely a hipster joint; the clientele and staff are almost universally young and indie, with music and atmosphere to match. Even if, like me, you're a little too old for the vintage-Joy-Division-tee-shirt scene, it's a great place to get a couple of tacos and a couple of rum & Cokes. Vegetarians will have no problem getting a satisfying meal, and the house salsa that comes with the complimentary chips is rather good. I've been there many times, and I've never had any complaints about the staff. It does get a little crowded at times, especially around the bar.

Absolutely my favorite restaurant in Baltimore! Whenever out-of-town friends visit, this is the first place I take them. Inexpensive, large portions, delicious food, superb atmosphere, good music, friendly staff, food and drink menus feature both original and traditional Mexican favorites. Viva la Frijoles!

The Scene Eclectic doesn't adequately describe Holy Frijoles' decor. Each location in this chain strives to look different, both from the norm and from the other outlets. Most of the furniture doesn't match. Chili pepper lights adorn the walls, as do funky paintings and scads and scads of orange. The place can get cramped, but the grub makes up for the lack of space. The Food Frijoles' food is some of the best Mexican in Baltimore. Start with crunchy taquitos or mile-high, loaded nachos and work your way toward an enchilada or fajita, both with your choice of filling. As they say, "Everything is vegetarian--unless there's meat in it." The football-size burritos are packed to bursting with your favorite filling, served with perfectly seasoned beans and rice.

Holy Frijoles is one of the best places to go in Baltimore. Inexpensive, and now with the expansion, more space! The employees at Holy Frijoles are some of the best! The food is fantastic, and contrary to what the review says, It does serve drinks. A Margarita is a MUST HAVE, however there are many new drinks on the menu. Do not leave without trying the Mexican Ginger Beer or a Twisted Windmill and a Chimicanga! Great atmosphere, wonderful food, and drinks!!

Come on in, sit down and enjoy the newer, larger Holy Frijoles. The food was excellent, the service was good and the staff really made you feel at home. Groups of 3 or less can eat in the older half of the restaurant while larger groups can be seated in the newer half.

The food is inexpensive and fantastic- the decor is awesome, the place is crowded! Expect to wait a while on a weekend!
