I lived right next to the amusement park and used to go quite frequently. I've seen it evolve since it first launched the Magnum until the Dragster was created. The rides are all very unique and fun! there have been other amusement parks who have even copied some of their concepts. Cedar Point also has hotels, shows, and other ways of having fun; I would recommend taking the whole day to visit and explore the park. Just try to go when there's clear weather, because if it rains they stop the rides and you cannot get a refund if it continues raining. Also if you are going as a family, try to pack some mini walkie talkies just in case. I would recommend riding the Mellenium force, Dragster, Gemeni, Mean Streak, Mantis, Raptor, Snake River Falls. Hope you visit Cedar Point and Enjoy your time!

Just to reiterate ~ (my last review was deleted in the big computer blip of 08!) ~ we go every year for 3 days (and stay at The Breakers). The best time to go? ~ First week it opens, Tues ~ Thurs. Never had to wait in line for anything! Keep in Mind ~ Cedar Point (I am wearing the Sweatshirt right now, how ironic!), is the Field Trip HQ for 8th grade ~ 11th, for most of Michigan and Ohio (try not to go the end of the school year!).

Rides were great!, if you get on them. Three rides were shut down after standing in line for 2 hours. Getting in the gate at 11:00, and have to stand and wait in the hot sun, (while people who had hour early tickets get in). If your web site would of mentioned this, we would of bought early tickets! Your web site needs to be more informitive about , 1, time you open,2, How long you need to wait in line before your let in, 3, rides break down on a regular basis. Every one in the park was complaining how bad the rides were breaking down. It has been several years since we had beento Cedar Point, and was really dissapointed on this visit. We spent more time waiting on rides, and then for them to break down was a big waste of time. The Holloween decorations were great, the park is very clean. Hoping that if we do return in the future, things will be better!

I love Cedar Point they have so many great rides. I am not the biggest coaster fan but there are some that I will ride at Cedar Point but I tend to avoid the bigger coasters. I will ride Iron Dragon which is my favorite ride in the park, and I like to ride Disaster Transport, and Gemini. Snake River Falls is a fun ride too it's a great water ride that will soak you from head to toe. Cedar Point is a place to have a great day.
PixarFan2007 05/07/2007
Cedar Point is the ultimate amusement park. I always look forward to going when we do. My favorite rides are The Iron Dragon, Raptor, Corkscrew, and Gemini. There is so much to do that you'll be tired at the end of the day.

I changed my rating from 5 to 4 based on this year's visit. Many rides were down at various times. We have visited Cedar Point since the 70's and this year I have to say we have seen a decline. Not enough staff it appears, but plenty of guys in white shirts and ties floating around. We stayed at Hotel Breakers. Elevators in the tower section were not running properly throughout our 4 day stay, and that was not fun then being on the 9th floor. One lifeguard at one of the lazy rivers was rude and nasty to my daughter-in-law, who was trying to help her little son get off his tube. In the process she lost her tube and was nastily reprimanded by the lifeguard. Uncalled for. Food at the park just minimal in quality, maximal in price. Bay Harbor Restaurant is pricey but nice, however. We made reservations for 2 rooms for our family in January, requesting rooms on the same floor and as close as possible. When we arrived on June 30th, one room was 9th floor of the tower section, the other room was 4th floor of Breakers East, about a 10 minute walk from each other. What a deal! This has never happened to us before in the past. Check-out was a hoot. A weird charge had appeared on our bill and it took 5 supervisors to authorize its removal.

Tough to beat;they seem to add new rides every year-and it's on the water.Seems to be something for everybody.

My family and I have been going to Cedar Point every year since I have was 5 and I am now 39. We love Cedar Point. It has rides from age 1 to 99. It is one of the cleanest parks we have been to. It also has its own campground and hotels within walking distance to the park entrance. The water park (Soak City) is awesome. I would recommend Cedar Point to anyone.

Arizona Bird 07/03/2005
I came all the way from Arizona to go to this amusement park legend. I paid a ton of money so I expected to have a good time and a great time is what I had! Happy was I when I got on the MaXair ride. It felt good when I faced my fear of heights by getting on the Power Tower. The only ride that made me freak was the big wood roller coaster. I always worry that they are going to fall down like an old parking garage. When I was challenged to get on the Mean Streak (I think thats the name of it)I just had to. But while I was on the ride I was thinking is this ride safe and if it is not am I going to see my sister again whom I went to ceder point with and I am in my mid 30's I still have a bunch of things to look foward to. After I got away from that ride I threated to smack my sister or anyone of our freinds who made a challenge for me. The sevice is so great at Ceder Point that I felt like a qween. If your lost there is most of the time a big burly female security officer there to help you find your way or if you are having breakfast, lunch or dinner the people working at the resturants seem happy like they are feeling their best. I could have gone to Disney World in Orlando. It was like Disney World vs Ceder Point and Orlando vs Sandusky. Disney World lost my money for two reasons. Number one: Disney has changed so much over the years it is not the same the image is weak and mixed up. Number two: Disney World is magical when Ceder Point packs more action (I like action that is why Ceder Point is more my kind of place). Before ending this comment I must say may we all find the comments from jersey coaster chick(and the others that she plays to be)non helpful.

FANTASTIC POST SPEEDY ! You are 1000% right about that 3 girl clone from New Jersey. Cedar Point is a really great family amusement park so if you aint been there, done that, then don't vote it a 1 star (3 times) to try to knock it down in the standings and then give your local Jackson,New Jersey,Six Flags amusement park a 5 star rating (3 times) to promote and raise it in the standings you New Jersey homer !!! And,oh by the way Ms.New Jersey I know about your sunburn ! She has opened another account under the handle of i have a sunburn! so she has at least 4 accounts now and who knows how many more !!! But,she took your hint Speedy and dropped the geographical and gender references in her new account nickname.

Cedar Point is my second personal favorite (Kings Island is my favorite).Ceder Point is alot like Kings Island. It is very beautiful and extremely easy to navigate and get around in. And,just like Kings Island, Cedar Point no longer has to have the biggest and tallest roller coaster in the world to be the one of the best amusement parks in America in my book. It might not have the tallest roller coaster but it has alot more of them and they are all extremly fun and fast and that's all I really care about. I'd rather have numerous 300 ft.tall roller coasters to ride and ride and ride and ride than to have a 301 ft.tall roller coaster to wait and wait and wait and wait to ride ! And,because there are collectively,so many more roller coasters and many more rides for everyone to use and choose from,I don't have to stand and wait anywhere from 3 to 5 hours in the hot Florida sun, just to get on and ride one time like I do at that one down in Orlando ! And,oh by the way you might try actually rating things by really actually going there and personally experiencing them in the flesh and not by rating them from unobjective, slanted and biased personal assumptions, opinions and predjudices made from the comforts of your home in some state over 300 miles away ! And,you know what ? Most people don't have and use 3 different Rate-it-all accounts, names and votes ! And,you would most definitely think that those who do would have enough forsight to cloak, disguise and hide these numerous accounts and submissions under different geographically and gender referenced names,so as not to draw attention to the fact that they are cheating the system,to promote and inflate another amusement park's overall value and point rating status at the expense of degrading and devaluing the overall point rating and status of another park.

I like this place. Good location, they got good rides, like that one that's at the Lake Erie shores and its indoor, that one rocks.

I went to Cedar Point just a week ago. It was by far the best park I have been to. Millineum Force is awesome. It was the best and I didn't even go on some of the best rides like Top Thrill Dragster and Mantis.
SliMLiZzY313 06/02/2004
Cedar Point is the best place to go on vacation for roller coasters, if u like the tallest fastest roller coasters that is. If you are looking for a place for the whole family.. thats Cedar Point to. But for me im there for the rides. All of Cedar Points rides are awesome. I've been there about 20 times in my life, and im 16, for the past two years i went there 6 times. Everyone in my family loves roller coasters. If i was rich or had nothing to do for a whole summer and had a lot of money to blow i would stay down in Sandusky for the summer to go to Cedar Point everyday. I would not get sick of it at all. I love seeing differnt people, and alot of different stuff. If you want to take the family on a nice ride, go on the train ride, but get on by the Mean Streak because they have a lil skelton show that goes on, also on the boat ride to, thats so cool! I hope i have convinced u enough to go!
sean_s_eagle 05/03/2004
Cedar Point is one of the best places in the world. I have great memories from this park. I love to go there a couple of times through out the summer with my family. I seriously awesome place to visit!

I Think That Cedar Point Is The Best Amuesment Park In The World. It Is A Family Fun Place. I Went There All Of My Life And I Absoulutly Love It. It's Got Rides For All Ages From Kiddy Land To The Top Thrill Dragster. The View Of The Park Is So Pretty And Cool As You Drive Up The Road. I Think You Will Love It If You Go.

First of all Millennium has two Ns... second This reviews have said that Millennium Force was the tallest. Which is WRONG Millennium Force was the tallest for less then 6 months. Steel Dragon 2000 at Nagashima Spaland is 318feet tall compared to Millennium Force's 310 foot. Well when i went to this park, It's truely amazing just eying it from the shore. Cedar Point is built on a Penninsula in Lake Erie. I knew it was my favorite.. before i even entered the park, just waiting there for the park to open was incredible. Demon Drop. Was my first ride and it feels taller then the rest of the Intamin 1st gen freefall rides. Top Thrill Dragster is the new one that opened (2003) 420 feet tall.. 120 MPH... Intamin Rocket coaster. Cedar Point contains some coasters on my Top Ten. Which include Millennium force, Mantis, Raptor, and Wicked Twister in 10th. for my steel top ten. My wood top ten, both Blue Streak and Mean Streak or on it. I've been tehre once, one day. And i got on every single coaster there... Except Junior Gemini and Woodstock's Express for being too tall. And i got to ride Millennium force 3 times, Raptor 5, and Mantis 3. Cedar Point is teh cleanest park i have ever been too. Best Thrills. And most rides worldwide but Six Flags Great Adventure is almost tied with it. (68 was last count i remember, not 100 like taht other reviewer). Cedar Point is also the second oldest amusement park in the USA. In 1979 Gemini was built as the tallest roller coaster in the world 125 feet. Since then just about every coaster (except kiddy) has borken the record for tallest somthing. Magnum XL 200 (209 feet, tallest coaster) Mean Streak (161 feet, tallest wood) Raptor (137 feet,Tallest inverted) Mantis (145 feet, Tallest Stand-up) Millennium Force (310 feet, tallest roller coaster) Wicked Twister(218 feet, tallest impulse coaster) Top Thrill Dragster (420 feet, tallest roller caoster) If you are just happen to be buy Ohio, Get out to Cedar Point, you will regret not doing it. That was the best day of my life. It's the Ultimate destination.
Molfan 06/25/2003
A great amusement park. We have been there many times and they have some terrific rides. If you like roller coasters, Cedar Point has some of the best. I like the Raptor.they also have rides for the smaller kids to enjoy.they have a dolphin show that is fun to watch and some other attractions. Also at least the last time we went there they have a picnic area so if you do not want to buy the parks food you can bring your own picnic.
GC2007 04/17/2003
THE best theme park out there! Millenium Force rocks... :) The new ride is going to be great! 420 ft tall and 120 mph! TOP THRILL DRAGTER IS THE BEST!!!
CanadaSucks 11/23/2002
AWESOME! Not as cheesy/expensive as a Disney-World type of place. 11 coasters! (as of this time of writing!) If you want to avoid long lines, go during a monday or tuesday during the summer and reserve a hotel room for the night. (Local hotels will let you check in an hour or so early so that you can go to the park) It's worth it if you love amusement parks. . .otherwise, knock off one star for the long lines for the good rides. Probably my favorite amusement park ever. It's so much fun it seems out of place in a quiet state like Ohio.
kbob 11/04/2002
best amuesment park in America!

In terms of thrills and overall fun this is the best amusement park I have been to and by the looks of it, in the world.

I have heard of this place. I saw a special on tv about it and that alone blew me away.

Cedar Point is the KING of parks!! It has like over 100 rides, 15 roller coasters! I love it! I got there 2 times a year! It is really cool! (Has the tallest roller coaster in the US! Millennium Force!)

It looks like a trip is in order for the fall!
pikachan 05/22/2001
This is the best amusement park ever! This is the park with the most roller coasters. My favorite ride is the Iron Dragon. This park also has a varity of other great rides for people young and old. It is amazing how they make great rides. I have always loved this park. I hope i can go again this summer. I want to see what new attractions they have added. Power Tower was okay. This park is even in the Book of world records for being the park with the most roller coasters. I have a lot of other favorite rides I have been on. I even like the Swinging Ship. this is one of the theme parks that I reccomend.
Deftones4ever 05/20/2001
One of the best parks, no wait a second, THE BEST PARK I have ever been too! It has like tons and tons of coasters, great food, not too exspensive, and the people are nice! I'm definitly going back someday!
ElegantFire 05/14/2001
Cedar Point is the best amusement park I have ever been to. I visit CP at least twice every year, because I can't get enough of it. The roller coasters are incredible, and every amusement park I've visited since Cedar Point just pales in comparison. CP's 14 coasters are all worth riding, and I laugh at other amusement parks that boast 5 or 6 mediocre roller coasters. The lines aren't bad if you go during the week, and the prices are a lot better than other, more commercialized amusement parks (like Six Flags or Disney World). If you go, definitely ride Millenium Force, the Raptor, the Mantis, and the Magnum XL200.
brookeg 02/25/2001
I live probably about an hour from the greatest amusement park in the world for sure. Cedar Point, if you have never been there, will blow your expectations for rollercoasters out of the water. There are so many, you can't even get close to riding all of them in one full day.
Wiggum 02/05/2001
As far as I'm concerned, this place is the King of amusement parks. I went to college at the University of Michigan, and Cedar Point was close enough for a day trip, so I made it there at least two or three times. The rides were amazing - especially the one that simulates free-fall. I've been to quite a few other parks, and none of them compare in size or quality/variety of rides.
sc7232 02/03/2001
This our favorite family place. Lots of new coasters, fabulous water park, boats, Lake Erie, and wonderful hotels, including the historic Hotel Breakers. A wonderful park with a rich historical background. Island to visit nearby--take a ferry, jet boat, or fly. Historic Put-In-Bay nearby with historic Perry's Monument. Coasters are fabulous. We go and stay for almost a week every time we go and never get bored or tire of it. Fun for the family or romantic for two.
michael_arbor 01/25/2001
I like most of these parks, but I can easoly say that this is the best one that I have ever been to. The rides are so great - there is one roller coaster that I forget the name of, but it is like the biggest climb in the entire world. I think that they add one new colossal ride every year in an attempt to outdo the previouos year's main attraction. There were rides there that I had never even heard of or seen in my life. Now the lines were long, but well worth the wait. I was there over Memorial Day weekend, so there was a lot of people, but I am sure the entire summer is like that. Camped out at Put-In Bay (which is kind of close to there) that weekend with a bunch of friends - this is another good thing to do in that area.
