I've been wanting to try Kodiak for a while now. So today, I bought me a can of the wintergreen flavor and put in a lip. I loved it! While it tastes about the same as Grizzly WG, the texture & quality are both better, and the flavor is a bit smoother. Plus the nicotine dosage seemed a bit stronger. Overall, I think this is an excellent dip. The main downside is that it's very expensive. Where I live, I paid $5:49 for it! It's definitely overpriced, but certainly not a disappointing dip. Not something I'm going to buy very often due to the price. By the way, Kodiak is NOT for people with weak gums! It's probably the strongest dip I've ever tried.

Im 16 and in Michigan i dont know about you guys but its pretty hard to find kodiak here and its never cheaper than $5 a tin here and its probably one of the best dips i like the strait and the wintergreen, but if i cant find it i usually get grizz wintergreen or grizz 1900 (Great alternatives) Grizz and kodiak are made by American Snuff Co.

For the love of God why cant I find Kodiak straight anymore? About 8 months ago the store I frequent was out of Kodiak wintergreen, so I got the straight instead. I knew in my heart there was no way I was gonna get pussy skoal. Put a pinch of the straight in my lip and pow I was in love. It was like a sore dick, you just cant beat it. Then my favorite store decided to stop carrying it. No big deal Ill buy this fantastic product somewhere else. Thats worked for about a month now I cant find straight anywhere. And to make matters worse sometimes its hard to find the bear anywhere.

i've only dipped like 2 or 3 cans of kodiak ever (wintergreen lc) and thought it was pretty good...but i don't understand all the hype. i mean...it's good and all, but considering the price on it...i would probably only buy it if they stopped selling grizzly wg, which kodiak wg tastes almost exactly like...but a tad less bolder. i don't think it's worth the extra money at all. one can of kodiak around here goes for around 4$, which is more then even copenhagen. i never quite understood why. i mean...why not just buy grizzly instead...which is $2.30? there's not that much if any a difference between the two IMO either way. american snuff co. needs to get the fuck with it. first they stop selling ice which everyone still wishes was being sold, then they alter the flavor of a dip they make that obviously has a following? they make grizzly so i guess it all balances out but...still. seems like some seriously retarded business moves on their part.

I miss the old Kodiak. I love Kodiak, but the new stuff just isn't the same stuff. Its good, but not great like it was. I like the new tin better, but the stuff inside just isn't the same. BRING BACK THE REAL KODIAK!

Everyone who loves Kodiak needs to call the company who makes the product and have them bring back the original texture and flavor. Whatever is inside the new metal cans is horrible and isn't the Kodiak that I love. It's horrible.

This dip is the motherload of dips its like grizz but so so much better. as soon as you open a tin of this stuff you instantly get that fine tobacco smell that nothing else even compares to i would say it smells a little more outdoory and fresh! love this stuff love kodiak.

I just call the Kodiak people and the girl said they did change the container, but the product is the same. I called B/S!! I've been dipping the bear for 25+ years and if it tasted like the new stuff I don't think I would have dipped for 2 days. The new Kodiak is BAD.

New tin = New Kodiak New Kodiak = New flavor ( flavorless if you ask me ) and new cut Much finer cut, that turns into a gooey mess in ur mouth. It appears to be a cross between Hawkin/Cope/Skoal After 29 years of chewing Kodiak, 3-5 tin a week, Im done. I tracked down the company tele #, I will be calling them. If youre a long time Kodiak fan I suggest you do the same. Here is the Number: 901-761-2050

Is it just me, or does Kodiak seem completely different now with the new metal tin (i.e. taste, flavor, texture, etc.)? This has been the only dip that I have used daily for 20+ years. Just curious if I was the only one that can tell the distinct difference. Not a good difference either.....

so i work at a gas station and naturally im very addicted to this stuff. we just got the promotional 75cent off metal tin. the own the rights to the word 'premium'. good taste good cut, lasts WAY longer than grizz, worth the price. i got a customer that goes through 2 logs in less than a week, he docks a huge ship in his cheek, he is an inspiration to all.

OK, so Kodiak used to be my favorite dip, my favorite wintergreen. Until I bought a can today w/ their new can design, similar to Grizzly's new design, to see that both are made by the same company. Which is fine, I like both. BUT I try my 'new' Kodiak, and it tastes EXACTLY like the damn Grizz....which is b/s cause they used to be 2 distinctly different flavors... So don't buy the new Kodiak, b/c as far as I can tell, it is now just Grizzly in a more expensive can. F'in b.s. man

Kodiak is a great dip. It packs, sticks around, and tastes pretty good. Its better than griz because when your dipping and spitting, you come across less sticks that suck to spit out. The only thing I've gotta say thats different than these rooks on this site is there is such thing as stale dip tobacco. I cant tell you how man gas stations dont give a rats ass about their dip, and have no idea that this shit sucks when its stale. And people say grizz is better than kodiak I will guarantee have only dipped stale kodiak. The reason its stale, people dont buy it as much as griz becasue its about twice as much usually, or 1.50. Grizz is usually the safe bet because everyone around teh country dips that shiz, and its almost always fresh. (Ive had a few shitty cans, basically the ones found up north and in cities where people dont dip. pusses if you ask me.) Fresh dip, cant go wrong with that no matter which brand you choose.

I'm a solid fan of any chew. I've only been chewin for a couple months. Just not a fan of longhorn. I hear Kodiak gives the best buzz and lord knows i need a buzz again and skol, cope, husky just ain't hittin me like they used to.

A great dip. love the wintergreen. when they are out of kodiak i will buy grizzly since it is the cheaper version of kodiak. and i did love the ice until they took it of the market. dont know how some reviewers can like grizzly but not kodiak its the same thing only difference is kodiak is a better grade of tobacco.

I don't like reviewing the topics that simply state the brand name and not a specific flavor because products within brands suck as well. I'll give you an example: Skoal Wintergreen- Good, Skoal Mint- Great, Skoal Straight- Nasty Crap. The difference in flavors within brands makes it hard to write a catch-all review. I felt compelled to review Kodiak, in general, because I have to point out that Kodiak Straight is, in my not so humble opinion, the best dip ever created! You cant get it at the stores where I'm from, all they have is wintergreen, which I've had before, and liked for the most part since it was very moist, very long lasting, packed better than anything I've had before, and came in a very tight-sealed container that kept the dip very fresh. The only think I hated about it was the strong flavor that seemed to burn a hole in my lip. I found myself spending most of the time switching sides rather than being able to enjoy this good quality dip. I feel the excessive flav... Read more

Kodiak is simply the best, especially the wintergreen. It gives the biggest buzz and stays moist longer than any other brand (except for grizz wich is my other favorite. By the way ther're made by the same company). ive dipped since i was 11 and i usually get grizz wintergreen but ill buy a can of kodiak if ive got some extra cash. kodiak and grizz are known for thier awesome wintergreen and both the bears really do bite. The best dip from best to worst are: kodiak wintergreen grizzly wintergreen, or snuff and mint is o.k. copenhagen straight, or whiskey timberwolf wintergreen skoal apple (best fruit flavor of any brand) , or berry redman natural Longhorn wintergreen thats all i've tried yet

I have dipped Kodiak Premium Wintergreen since I was 14-15 I am 40 now... I was hooked on ICE when I 1st tried it... If I can not get ICE I will buy Premium Wintergreen... Why the hell would they stop selling ICE.. Seems like there are enough people that like it.... Dumb ass move... I have tried just about everything on the market and it does not compare to the Yak.... If they do not put it back on the market I will just stay with Premium Wintergreen.... If I have to or I will have to stop... As for the new "Blue" can what a bunch of crap... I threw the can in the trash... I could not even stand the taste.......

Kodiak is a pretty good dip in my opinion. Never got to try the Ice but the mint was decent... if its true that the ice was A LOT better than the mint, then it must have been the greatest thing ever. Kodiak Mint has decent flavor, and lasts a really long time. Good buzz too. I'll stick with grizzly though since its a lot cheaper and get Kodiak every once in a while.

i dont see why kodiak it "premium"  its cut is about the same as grizzly and the taste isnt even that great.  I guess its premium just cause the flavor lasts a while.

kodiak is my favorite. i always get the wintergreen. i've bought dry cans before, but i stopped going to those stores. there are very few things better than a fat dip after a long day's work. kodiak has great flavor, it's not too rough on the gums, and gives a great buzz.

The only kind I like. The problem is that I'm sick of getting dry cans. The water trick sucks and shouldn't have to be done. They should check there shelves or put experation dates that you can read. I'm about to cut my costs in half by switching to Grizzly. You'd think that for what that shit cost you would never have this problem. Screw the stars!!!!!!!!

Stupid, Stupid, Stupid. Who is the marketing new guy that came up with the idea to change Kodiac Ice? I'm betting some new kid from some snotty Ivy League School that wants to justify his hiring bonus by doing something differet. Note to new guy: Bring back the ICE, and give us loyal customers a price break for the first (10) cans we buy. Then, and only then, will we let you come back into the office for your next "idea".

im sorry, ive been chewing kodiak for years, and something about the wintergreen has changed since the winter time. i continue to chew it whenever i need a strong fix, thats all its good for. its changed i tell you. its got a straighter sweet flavor to it. it used to be an over powering wintergreen ass beating to your gums. and it was wonderful.

Kodiak was my first dip when I was 16. I puked, and can't go back to it. I've tried. It's all my buddy dips. When I'm out of Grizz and needing the fix, I'll ask for the Kodiak, crack it open, then close it immeditaely once I catch a whiff of it. Maybe someday...

I have been dipping Kodiak Ice for Nearly fifteen years. I agree. Not only does the new stuff taste like crap, it gives me incredible indigestion. I went out and bout rolls and rolls of Ice when I saw the "premium mint" start popping up. I have three cans of Kodiak Ice left once it's gone, I'll go to another company. I didn't mind paying nearly five bucks a can for the ice. But I wouldn't give you fifty cents for this mouthwash tasting crap they decided to push instead. Sorry Conwood Company of Memphis TN, you really screwed the pooch on this one, and you've lost a fifteen year loyal customer. I just hope the market numbers reach the top and someone figures out they just pissed off thier entire mint chewing customer base.

I am a grizz man, but this stuff is somewhat useful. I mix it with water to poison ground squirrels. I also give it to Democrats. I give the good stuff, grizz, to Republicans.
