01/18/2006 | Underrated player, smart, solid in just about every way. Played in the 1910's and 20's with the Reds and Giants, almost singlehandedly destroyed the Yankees in the '22 Series with a 474 batting average. Didn't have much power, but most of his career took place in the dead ball era anyway. One of those guys who have been overlooked since his retirement.
