I never take the time to review a business unless I have had an experience like never before. With my personal trainer, Gina, that is exactly what has happened and contiues to happen. She is committed to helping me reach my goals in a no nonsense way...I love that, even if it is hard to hear some times...the truth sets us all free and I really see myself reaching my fitness goals with Gina.

I came in for a free Muay Thai lesson with Gina and was given a workout that left me feeling great. One class gave me the quickest results I have ever experienced. A few days after that class my whole body got toned. I have been recommending this gym to all my friend. If you want to get in shape this is the place to go.

I train with Gina at American Boxing in San Diego. Sadly enough I am in my 20's and have let myself get overweight by about 30 pounds. I was a little intimidated going into a boxing gym, but was soon at ease when I met Dave, Gina and their students...all very nice and fun people. The training is just amazing! Some days we do boxing, other workouts pilates and boxing, sometimes kickboxing and kettlebells! So I get weights and fun cardio. Oh BTW, you don't have to get hit in the face to do the boxing! Not to mention Gina is what they call a master personal trainer and a kickboxing champion...which is hard to believe from this very pretty and petite girl. I totally recommend training at American Boxing if you have fitness or weight loss goals, I've already lost 10 pounds in just a couple weeks! Good luck

Dave is my personal trainer at American Boxing and he's a really great trainer. He's taken my fitness levels to new levels I'd never imagined! I've also lost 10 pounds of fat and gained 10 pounds of muscle. Yes I weigh the same but my waist is 3 inches smaller and my chest and arms are way bigger. Thanks to Dave and Gina I'm actually fit for the first time since high school. I can't recommend them any higher.

I have been running my own business and missed training intensely the way I used to train. Having trained in martial arts for over 25 year, competed nationally and coached national competitors, I was looking for a serious school with physical and mental training emphasizing technique, conditioning and strategy. American kickboxing meets all this plus more. I have been training with with Dave and Gina for the past one and a half years and feel as good and better than when I had time to train 6 to 8 hours a day. The 2 main coaches Gina and Dave are very dedicated and experienced. They address each student as an individual and motivate people to reach higher and higher to find their potential. The focus on technique and conditioning give the student the foundation they need to keep progressing. If someone was to write down each and every workout as I have done they would see more than just exercising for the sake of exercising. They are teaching underlying priciples and stategy as well ... Look at the name and dates of a couple of these different reviews... 1980Jen and Jenn65 with the same publishing date! Unfortunately, in the past, another gym in San Diego felt it was cool to write fake bad reviews. I've talked past employees of the company and they have confirmed my suspicions! Pretty lame i think... And this Jessica68 review is comical...again, this review is an obvious attempt to slander our image...i say this since literally everything this person is saying is the opposite to how we are and how we have always been! Come and learn for yourself, you are welcomed to just watch a class or even try one. Anyways, we are a USA boxing center, muay thai kickboxing and crossfit gym, personal training studio and a grappling academy and we have been doing these things for well over 10 years! Much longer than most personal trainers and mixed martial arts instructors in San Diego. Thanks, American Boxing MMA and Fitness

Let's get one thing straight. . .I am not an athlete and have never been in top modeling condition! To say that I am coordinated would send my whole family falling out of their chairs in hysteria! A friend told me about some kickboxing classes so I decided it was time to get rid of that nice 35lb addition I had accumulated. We went to The Boxing Club(lava) and it was a good workout. The unfriendly sales guy got me to sign up but after a month I realized this place was not getting me the results I wanted. I found AB on the web and liked the idea of SMALL classes. I was a little intimidated at first because people looked like they really knew what they were doing!! I soon discovered that I would not only get my results with such great personal attention but I would actually learn Muay Thai! Not kickboxing;-) This place is run by a couple who actually care about their members! I have made some life long friendships, not to mention great business contacts. I recently got a chance to lead t... Read more

These other reviews are OBVIOUSLY fake like the other person on here said! I train Muay Thai kickboxing and Jiu Jitsu here and totally love it! American Boxing, Kru Dave and everyone here are awesome! I trained a bit up North in San Francisco and here in San Diego I've tried a few gyms, American Boxing was the only spot that felt like a real family with really excellent training like back home! Small classes and lots of attention like advertised! I don't know if there was a problem with 1 person who wrote these reviews or it is another gym just trying to steal business (like I was told is the practice here in San Diego), but American Boxing is a great spot and you should definitely try them out! They have FREE classes to try it out, they never pressured me to enroll after 5 days of free classes taken...so you should be able to check them out like I did with no worries. They WILL ask you a bunch of questions on the phone though...i had a bit of a problem with that as well but ... Read more

WOW, I called in just to get prices on joining this place earlier in the week and the girl who answered wouldn't give me the time of day! She was very rude and unprofessional. I am looking for an mma gym for a different style of workout and some self defense, you never know what can happen. All I know for sure is it will NOT be at American Boxing. I am gonna try a class at PB boxing and City Boxing next...look for my reviews on both next week..Take my advise, American Boxing is not the place to be...especially if your female.

This is the first time I have ever tried Mauy Thai (sp?) Kickboxing, and I love it! I didn't know what to expect from training but I lost about 5 pounds in sweat in the first class and had a blast!! I couldn't walk the next day because I was so sore, but that went away fast. I told Gina about the other review on here and how bad it was, she told me how it is common practice for another local gym to write fake reviews to try and hurt business. Pretty lame I think, so I thought I'd let everyone know, I think it is fake and not true. I have taken the kickboxing and it is awesome, I have seen the boys do sparring class and they look as good if not better than the UFC show my boyfriend makes me watch! ha So, if you think you want to try a class, you should! It is a smaller gym the classes really small so you get a great workout and they fix your bad technique. I don't know if they are professional fighters but I know they train some professional fighters as well as beginners like me... Read more

First off the girl, Gina was super rude to me on the phone because I didn't want to give out my phone number right away. I should have known not to go in just by her attitude on the phone, but I really wanted to check the place out! The facility is as small as my bedroom here in PB, and it smells really bad. The training was ok but I have had way better. I thought when I went in to train I was gonna have professional fighters that helped me. They seemed pretty amature, and not user friendly to beginners. They tried to pressure me into joining right after the class, now I know why it was free. They got me in and then tried to slam me and make me feel bad! Hope nobody that reads this has to go through what I did. Have a good one, Jess

I'm in the service and have seen training from Thailand to Virginia and you should see these American Boxing MMA guys train! They have guys, girls and even kids. The head coach, coach Nielsen is crazy good at Muay Thai! This guy is fast and strong with awesome technique (in jiu jitsu too)...the coolest thing is he takes time with everyone and helps them get their techniquie right! I've never had so much fun and trained so hard! Just check this place out, it is wayyy worth it!!!
