Project Scope: Our remodeling project involved rearranging the interior walls to create a master suite and redoing stucco walls to the affected exterior walls. (Location: Glendora, CA) The contract was written in such a way that Unique Home Remodeling (UHR) was responsible for the construction and all the necessary framing materials needed to complete the job. We were responsible for the light fixtures, plumbing fixtures, tiles, AC and furnace, etc. This eliminated the potential disagreement on material quality. It also provided us with better budget control since it was something that we had full control of. Some items that we were not familiar with like water heater, AC unit, UHR provided us with recommendations and vendors. All in all, they were very flexible with the contract. The remodeling experience was pleasant but not flawless. We had a few things that came up after the demolition. Renegotiation was made and agreed upon. Most issues discovered during construction were resolved professionally. The one thing that impressed us the most is that they followed through on their warranty. We had an issue with the furnace not function a few months after the project was done. UHR came and repaired without hesitation and eventually resolved the problem. Overall, the project went smoothly and we were happy with the work quality. There were minor issues here and there but all expected for a construction project, right? Reading some of the not so positive reviews, I feel that UHR also deserves at least another good review.

I just want to let people know that I had Unique Home Remodeling do the entire inside of my home, eveything from the kitchen to the bathroom all the floors and painting and then extended the house by 300 square feet. I have never worked with anyone that was attentive to details and that listened to what I wanted and they gave me everything I expected and more. The crews showed up every day to work they were all very polite and very skilled. I would highly recommend this company to any one wanting to improve the value of your home and you quality of living

We had a horrible experience. We signed the contract and it started from there. Our project manager NEVER returned phone calls, we never got a time line, we were told to get things like granite and choose paint and faucets and only had less then 24 hours each time, so we had to rush. We would only get return calls when we had a payment due and then they would tell us to be home at a certain time so the owner's son, who doesn't even know how to use a measuring tape (TRUE STORY). The cabinets in the kitchen needed to be redone 2 different times, the Bathroom needed to be redone 2 times and so they did a shoddy job and needed to repair on the final list. The window in the bathroom isn't centered. They put the dishwasher in wrong, ruined the hard wood floor they put in and so now there is a patch that doesn't match. The subfloor is not reinforced, so the floor creaks and many boards just don't match and don't look good. They promised a mantel but it was HORRIFIC, this fake mahogony vaneer. My husband tried to use a stipper to fix it but it was worthless cheap plywood w/fake veneer so he is building a new mantel. They change ordered us for things they promised to pay and so the bill was outrageous and we spent over $7grand in a hotel. Our 53k job turned into 70k and 8 weeks. We have a small one bedroom one bath house, so we couldn't live in the house during construction. Many days in a row they would just not show up and they would not answer the phone and so it was a bit scary. They ruined my office floor (hard wood) by shoving the sofa in there so that it scratched the floor badly. They are unethical and very difficult to deal with. We would NEVER use them again and would NEVER EVER refer them. This simple 3 week $53k project came in at 8 weeks for over $70k if you include change orders and hotel. The owner stood over us waiting for final payment with no paperwork to sign off on so that we put a hold on it until we could get the liens released.

We were duped and had a bad experience with them. Our floors are not done well, the subfloor creaks and was put in quickly and not well. We...
