I found them online. Was a little worried after reading reviews but figured if I didn't like it I could leave. It was convenient since I just moved to the area. Service was friendly and efficient. A little pricey but the quality of work was what I was use to on the mainland so I didn't mind. I went during lunch time so the parking lot was a little crowded. They are great at doing blond and I looked natural when I left. Thanks.

Allure is fantastic. I've going here for 4 years and I always look amazing when I leave. The service is outstanding and everyone is friendly. Fox is a master of fabulousness - I trust her implicitly with my hair.

In a nutshell this is the most flithy spa I have been to. I went in for a pedicure and the chair they have in there is totally repulsive, I don't understand how they can actually charge for this service. The motor on it was so loud that it sounds like a lawn mower and echoed though the entire salon. I could not believe that the owner would actually run this in a salon who claims that they have a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. I would never allow any of my customers to be subjected to such low quality equipment and then charge them such inflated fees for services: they pedicure I got cost $80.00. Then for the hair coloring and hair cut $200, outlandish!! I had not been tested before my hair coloring for an allergic reaction and ended up with terrible itching for weeks, dry scalp with flaking, and HAIR LOSS!! on the top of my head. I did inform my hairdresser and she gave me a scalp treatment in the hopes of diminishing my itching but it did not work and she was well aware of thi... Read more

Hair is an extremely important feature of our appearance. We wear it every day and usually can't hide it even despite some pretty creative efforts. I think most of us have had at least 1 or 2 awful hair cuts in our lifetimes and the clever cover-it-with-a-hat technique really doesn't work that well. If you want a hair cut that suits your taste and a hair cut that you're proud to wear every day then Allure is the place to go! Allure has great quality service and is a great choice for anyone who likes how they look! All of the hair stylists are exceptionally well trained and attentive to what you want. No one pushes their own personal creative agenda on you! No one wants you to spill your entire life's story in the chair! The hair stylists are great with a wide range of clientele, because they make you feel comfortable. Of course they can suggest certain types of products to you for purchase/at-home-use, but no one is pushy which I really appreciate. In a day and age when just about eve... Read more

NOT RECOMMENDED! DO NOT GO HERE! Although Allure is nice when you walk in, I had a terrible experience with a Brazilian wax, never having felt more uncomfortable in my three years of waxing. The owner handled the situation in the most unprofessional way, including offering me a complimentary service and then later rescinding her offer. I have nothing good to say about the service I received here, and for a spa that is supposed to be top-notch, my experience was very much the opposite. I would never recommend Allure to anyone.

The experience there almost ruined my wedding day! I expected more out of an Aveda salon and was sourly disappointed! At first, I was so excited to go get my hair done and my 5 bridesmaids' hair updos. When I called to make appointments and schedule updos for the day of my wedding, I specifically asked what the cost would be for my 5 bridesmaids' updos. When I got there and was all done with everything, went to pay- my bridal make on, hair updo, veil fastened , bridesmaid's hair all updo'd, and just hours before my wedding, they zap me with a bill that was triple the agreed amount for the hairstyles. I was so upset and with my wedding ceremony 3 hours away, I didn't want to get upset, have my make up run, and get into a fight with them on the day of my wedding. It was a most unpleasant experience and they did notthing to honor what the receptionis said over the phone. It was a horrible experience and they still charged me triple what they said they would. If they want to make it up... Read more

I was given a massage as a gift and was a bit skeptical as to how it would compare to what I was used to at Spa's in the mainland. They proved quite the opposite, from the robes to the tea, the whole experience was wonderful. The masseuse was excellent and very attentive. I had a deep tissue massage for 90 minutes, but it seemed to go longer, plus there was a foot bath and foot massage included. I wish I could go more often!

ALLURE in Manoa to me is like going into a world of relaxation, wonders and deep connection with the spirit of the islands. Its an enchanting experience, which doesn't only beautify who we are, but also let our souls dance. The staff is very authentic. friendly and personal, the spa clean, tasteful, modern and always inspiring. I have been a customer for years now. I love the european facial with a touch of Paris, I adore the lomi lomis bringing my soul to rest and at the same time awaken my inner being. To have Susanna work on ones body is permitting oneself healing on all levels. When it comes to my hair cuts Maja captures my persona in just a cut! . She is a master ... she has the skill, the eye, the style ... and the honesty to bring out the best in your "look"! Maja has the ability to seeing who I am and what my needs are without my instructions. She is continuously on the edge of fashion & style and an inspiration not only personally but also professionally. I love this Spa! I ... Read more

Maja has been my hair stylist for a number of years. When she moved to a different salon (7 years ago), I searched local popular salons and spas for an experience to match what I had become accustomed to, but nothing could compare. I was elated when I found out that Maja opened her salon, and have remained a faithful client ever since. I find Maja to be a gifted, talented, hard-working craftswoman. The staff at Allure at Manoa always makes me feel comfortable each time I walk into the salon. Suzanne, the masseur and beautician, is great! I spoil myself at least once a month to relieve the stress of my busy lifestyle. The staff at Allure understand my hetic work schedule and continually try to accommodate me. My experience with Maja, Suzanne, and the staff has been wonderful, and I continually look forward to my next visit.

Most every body would probably agree that it is very difficult to get a good hair cut, and since Maya Whitesell moved to the island more than 10 years ago, I didn't need to look any further for a hairdresser that suited my taste. I was even happier, when she finally opened her own spa in 2004 and have been a steady customer ever since. Maya is probably one of the hardest working people that I know, and besides her own efforts, everybody else I encountered at her business, like the front desk people and the hair-washer, have suited my taste very well. One of the things that impresses me most is how often Maya travels to update her skills and how generous she supports the education of of her employees. Aloha, Dieter Runge

Chic and charming, that's how I'd describe this gem of a salon. Though it's tucked away in the Manoa Valley, Allure can definitely hold its own against any big-city salon. Not only did I walk away with the best haircut I've ever had, but I felt pampered and relaxed--as if I'd had a mini vacation. Allure has definitely been perfectly named. I can't wait to go back.

After many year's of living here in Hawaii and surging every few month for a hairdresser I finally can end the search and the stress that it causes. I went with great hesitation to my first appointment, but was blessendly surprised, as I walked in to a warm and relaxing atmosphere, after being greeted by the staff, immediately I was offered a lovely cup of tea, and was accompanied to my chair. The Owner did highlights and a haircut. This is the first time I felt comfortable as soon as she touched my hair, she is extremely gifted in coloring and cutting. This is the best haircut and highlight I have ever had. My hair felt and looked so natural even my husband commented immediately on how wonderful my hair looked when he saw me. Not only is the owner gifted in here trade, she has also a wonderful and attentive personality with a great European flavor. If you want to end your surge about looking for another Hairstylist, I highly recommend going to Allure Hair Studio& Day Spa.

I find the staff here to be highly skilled and very accommodating. The environment inside is lovely and relaxing, and I really appreciate the pre-styling massages. I decided to change my hair style from the one I've been wearing for 25 years to something more flattering, which entailed growing out some places and trimming back others, a process I had been dreading. But I got great advice and excellent transitional styles all along the way, and I am very, very satisfied with the end result.

Being an Aveda Salon I was expecting so much more than I got. The day I was there it seemed like the staff was a little frazzeled. Once I was taken upstair to wait for my stylist, I noticed a dirty, bare foot little girl running around and getting into things. I soon learned this was the owners daughter. Can we say....unprofessional? During the next couple of hours that I was there I heard the owner speak sharply to her assistant, and to the front desk staff. Can we say.....unprofessional? As I was coming back down stairs to leave, here was the same dirty little girl, now on the floor at the bottom of the stairs with the laundry baskets turned upside down, crawling in them. Can we ALL say.....unprofessional???? The last and final insult came when I tried to leave a tip on my credit card for my stylist. I ask the receptionist if she would be giving her my tip and she told me that all credit card tip are only given out on Saturday. So, for all the hard work my stylist did and... Read more

Love this Hair Studio and Day Spa! It's like a hidden gem in Manoa. Don't be deceived, it may look little from the outside but Allure is spacious on the inside with fabulous energy. Great team of massage therapists, estheticians, and stylists. Love the Kerastace product and love the option of Aveda too. Very accomodative! They even ran across the street to get me a coffee though they do serve that great Aveda tea! Great energy, relaxing, peaceful! Definitely will be telling all my friends! Nice to get away from the hustle of the mall mentality!
