We ate at the one in Wyomissing, PA. This was our second bad experience at this restaurant. This was our last visit there. The time before we overlooked the bad service as someone had called off and they were short handed. We were in a room with no other customers. At one point the wait got so long using a cell phone we called and asked for our server to be sent back to us blah, blah blah. We understood them being shorthanded. Yesterday the antipasto was excellent and that was it. The food was actually cool (not lukewarm). The large brownie dessert that comes in a big glass with ice cream and whipped cream, some of the brownie pieces were to hard to eat. They made a clunking sound when taps with the spoon. Coffee was ordered with dessert and it never came. Coffee wasn't on the bill when it came however there was and extra 12.00 dessert on the bill that wasn't ordered ( or served). Nope we won't be going back there again!!!!!

"I grew up in a town that was 98% Italian and I spent more time at Italian tables and in Italian kitchens (even a summer in a mafia owned restaurant) then in my own mothers kitchen so this review is not only from an honorary Italian but an accomplished Italian cook. First Bucas uses the family style experience as an excuse to charge for all the little things that usually accompany a meal such as salad, vegetables and pasta...come on what real Italian restaurant charges you extra for a pasta side with your meal? This was our first time at Bucas (Shrewsbury, MA), I was considering having my wifes baby shower here after a co worker suggested it so I figured we would stop by and give it a try. We ordered a salad with Granny Smith apples, cranberries and cheese and the calamari appetizer. In truth the salad was tasty and of ample size for my wife and I, we ordered the small. As for the calamari, the breading was bland and the fish itself was dry and on the slightly tough side. The sauce... Read more

In the first 60 seconds upon arrival we were asked by the same person how many of us were to be seated. We were the only people in front of the Front Podium. Our reply was always the same. 4 including 2 highchairs, please. They took us eventually to a booth. A round booth. Our kid menu was fully and artfully colored in; its games already completed by one very talented Wendy, age 6. (Oh Dear.) This was to be the foreshadowing of the rest of the meal! We asked for anything and it was somehow wrong or didn't arrive. Salad, no croutons came with BROWN LETTUCES AND CROUTONS. Water, in a regular glass for him, please (for a child) was delivered as a small plastic cartoon cup with lid and four straws. Equally odd consideration since their adult "glasses" are actually plastic too. Oy. Wait staff is not trained to actually think apparently favoring simply talking (at you) and walking. Perhaps their capacity for listening was diminished due to their inability to hear us over the inc... Read more

Food was excellent as was the service. We did have one small issue where the pizza we ordered did not arrive with the rest of the food because of a mistake in the kitchen. However, the staff went above and beyond making up for the problem. We were not in a rush so it really wasn't a big deal but they were very apologetic and genuinely concerned over the problem. The manager simply gave us the offer of taking off the pizza, enjoying a dessert on them, or whatever we felt was acceptable to make things right...Wow, talk about giving the power back to the customer.

The Buca di Beppo on the Country Club Plaza in Kansas City is terrific! We got in on a Saturday night without any wait, our server was prompt and helpful, and the food was wonderful. There was a big group seated in the area with our smaller group of four, but even so we got our food quickly. The price was very reasonable, and we had some leftovers to take home - yummy! Although I've read reviews from others who've had a terrible experience at Buca, I would highly recommend the one on the Country Club Plaza - I think this is the third time I've been there, and I have never been disappointed!

Our family has been a great fan of Buca di Beppo for many years having visited many of their restaurants across the country with a range of "crowds" from families to friends to coworkers. We had come to appreciate their consistency as an Italian family restaurant that would make you feel at home, provide a pleasant atmosphere, and serve good food all at a reasonable price. Lately, it seems they have joined the ranks of "Yet another Italian restaurant chain"! Our latest experience is a case in point. Upon arrival, with a reservation, we were greeted by a "yelling" hostess at the podium complaining that she could not hear us because someone was "screaming" into the radio plugged into her ear. She further indicated that our 20 minute delay waiting to be seated was not her fault since the people at "our" table had been there for 3 hours.. After seating 4-5 groups of people who arrived after we did, they finally decided to seat us. The hostess escorted us thru a half empty restaurant... Read more

HORRIBLE "UNWELCOME" experience! I would NEVER enter that place again not even if this were the only place to breathe ... My story is brief...I made reservation for the "Pope table" at Buca di Beppo, Miami Lakes; my daughter had agreed this was the perfect scenario to hold her communion party. I have never liked the food here but I thought this table was pretty cute for this occasion. The day of her communion finally came and to make sure everything was running smoothly I even called the place and confirmed the table would be ready for us. "No problem; everything is set for today"- WRONG ANSWER, sir! When my guests and my beautiful daughter all dressed in her white gown showed up at this restaurant, "the manager" simply told us he might have another table set for us since two reservations had been made on the same day and time. I make a pause here to say I had showed my deepest interest in using this particular table the day I had made my reservation. Back to the manager part now, he b... Read more

The very first time going to this restaurant! When I arrived with my fiance, the hostess was not super friendly and when we clearly asked her for a booth, she called upon a male waiter to escort us to a table and we had tell the waiter that we asked the hostess for booth. Staff is semi-friendly, restaurant walls too cluttered with photos and the restaurant could use more lighting throughout. The food, on a scale of 1-10, we would give it a 2, for number of persons writing this review. The portions are larger than most other italian restaurants, but the prices are too high for the quality of food, period!! If you want italian, you would be better off going to the grocery store, buying a loaf of garlic bread, a box of spaghetti and a jar of Prego, "It's in there.," which would be a lot thicker than chopped up boiled tomatos and water seasoned with salt and pepper, and call it a night!! Save your hard earned money!! Save yourselves of severe disappointment!! We have learned a very valuab... Read more

This restaurant is horrible! We ate there on a Thursday night. By Saturday 5 of the 6 of us were extremely ill. The only difference with the individual that did not get sick, was they did not eat from 2 of the 3 platters that were served. This is HORRIBLE! When we called the location to see if anyone else reported being sick, they said there was an "epidemic" going around and 1/2 their staff was out. Hmmm. Could it be that their staff all ate the same food as well? I can't see 3 different households getting sick with the exact same symptoms on the exact same day. And the individual that did not get sick was the one with the weakest immune system out of everyone. Buco will not admit there was anything wrong with their food, and was very standoff-ish when told about the issue. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE, and advise everyone to steer clear of this place!

This company destroyed my life!!! I worked at the Buca in East Norriton PA for 3 years and today at 10 AM they called us all in for a morning meeting and fired us all. This is so unfair, since a lot of the employees have children they need to support and families to keep fed. they gave us no notice and then they kicked us out when we were trying to say goodbye to each other. We don't know what to do or where to go. If you have a heart at all NEVER EAT AT BUCA DI BEPPO!!!!! THEY ARE IMMORAL AND HEARTLESS AND ONLY CARE ABOUT MAKING MONEY. Do yourself a favor and bypass this mean, horrible restaurant in the future. They are heartless. .

I'm giving this two stars not because of the taste of the food, which was just OK, but because of the portion size for lunch. I had chicken breast picante with a side salad. The salad portion was the smallest I've seen in a restaurant (for $3). The chicken was maybe half of a half breast and came with pasta Alfredo. The chicken breast may have been small but the large plate it was served on was filled up by the generous serving of pasta. I wasn't placated though. If I'd wanted pasta for lunch that's what I would have ordered.

Wow I skimmed down the list and saw a lot of bad reviews here. The restaurants some of these people ate at must of been in crappy areas. All of the Buca di Beppos' in the Chicagoland area are amazing. I have never had a bad experience. Great food, Friendly People, Warm Environment. I guess it is pricey but what isn't anymore. You want cheap go Taco Bell or something.

I love the one in Washington DC near Dupont Circle. I had my birthday there. Service, as well as food, was superb. Portions are large, which makes it very convenient for sharing--a + for a birthday celebration with a large croud. The staff was very professional and attentive to mine and my guests' needs. They even stayed open for us way past closing time on a Saturday night, without a single complaint and without asking for payment. They made sure we had a good time.

I def. reccomend this place they give you a ton of food, if you've never been I go to the one in Franklin, TN, they give you the whole pan of everything sure your bill is about (for a family of 4) 120 bucks, but it's worth it you will have a ton to take home.

In Short Homesick for your mother's Italian cooking? Grab your appetite and head to this restaurant, where the friendly wait staff will serve up portions of Colosseum-esque proportions, like spaghetti and meatballs loaded with savory tomato sauce and lots of pungent garlic. Dishes center on Southern Italian immigrant fare, and are meant to be shared family-style with a large goblet of wine-to enhance the taste, of course. The ornate décor with walls covered in vintage photos evokes a warm homey feel that welcomes customers to dine among the other families and loyal customers. Buon Appetito!

Mixed bag.  Food is okay but (like many faux-Italian chains) quite overpriced.  And I've been there at least twice or three times and have indeed found the place quite loud.  It's not the worst choice for a Friday dinner date plus a movie- but I don't have any real desire to go back.

I was very excited to take my mom to Buca for mothers day. I decided to take her a day early to avoid the crowd. On our way we called to make a reservation and was told that we needed to make it 2 hours in advance but was assured that we could come now and be seated. When we got there is was so crowded that people were standing outside of the door. Went inside and was told that there would be an hour wait. Because of the good things we were told, we decided to put our name on the list to return later. We returned 45 minutes later to mass chaos and was told that there were 5 parties ahead of ours. As we were sitting there another hour past by and we got very frustrated. We were told that a large party was there and wouldn't leave and was taking up space. We continued to wait when I noticed a gentleman walked in claiming he made a reservation by phone that morning. When he was told that he was not on the list he began to complain, asked for a manager and was seated immediately.... Read more

HORRIBLE IF THEY HAD A NO STAR OPTION I WOULD PICK IT. This cost me and my family $165...three adults and two 12 year olds. The lasagna tasted like the pasta was moldy or the eggs had been bad, the gnocchi tasted like tasteless packing peanuts with a boring milk sauce. It was disgusting, all $25.00 of it. (A plate, I'm talking) The dessert was honestly the best part and it probably wasn't even made there. The kids left most of their food on the plate and enjoyed the dessert more than anything else. The "house bread" was hard, stale and tasted like it had been imported from Italy a week ago. I know they are trying to capture an "authentic" taste but bread you can't even bite through? the "italian ice" was just flavored soda, and the meatballs tasted more like ALPO. I have had MUCH BETTER at take out Italian places, or even the grocer's freezer. You will not be delighted with the food, trust me. Or the prices. The boots are uncomfortable, and my mom, who is disabled, could hardly scoot i... Read more

My wife wanted to go to Bucas in Burnsville, MN for her birthday since we always enjoyed the food in the past. Called the place (for Sunday Nite) and asked if reservations were necessary and they said no if we came after 5:30 PM. Got there at 6 and were told that we could have gotten in if we had a reservation. Told us that there was a 30 minute wait. Finally got called after 1hour and 15 minutes even tho there appeared to be a lot of empty tables. waited another 20 minutes at our table and never saw a waiter. Decided it wasn't worth waiting anymore since we were all pretty ticked, hungary, and thirsty by this time. I asked the people at the next table when they last saw a waiter and they said it had been awhile. They said they were nursing their beverages cuz they were not optimistic about the service. Left and went elsewhere. Truly disappointed! They have also reduced their menu and my wife's favorite dish is not on there anymore. Which was the reason she wanted to go there in the fi... Read more

Buca's is an incredibly average restaurant. Service is very good. The ambiance is good. I like walking through the kitchen. The prices are ok. Kids love it and it is very good for family gatherings. However, the food here tends to be very mediocre. Not bad, just not great - "average". If you love simple pastas in fairly simple sauces with lotsa garlic, you will like Buca's. If you try one of their more complex dishes, you may not be satisfied.

I ordered a margarita and they brought me a glass so full of ice there was probably 1 oz. of liquid in the glass. When I pointed this out to the waiter, he responded: "That is how we make it." We waited 30 minutes to get in and our waiter was very slow. My fork had some melted-on cheese. The seafood pasta was decorated with mussles, 5 of the mussle shells were empty. Because of the family-style menu, nobody felt like they got what they wanted. The menu is very hard to figure out for a vegetarian or a vegan. The fried calamari was soaking in oil and had no salt. The place was generally a rip off. Make some spaghetti with marinara sauce and save your family $120!

I've been to Buca di Beppo many times and like the family style portions. Now that the location in Strongsville is open for lunch, they have single portions too which is great and makes it easy for two people with different tastes to order seperately. I recently found out that the dinner menu will now be available for single size portions. This was a great move on their part so no matter what size your party is, Buca is the place to go.

I recently propsed to my girlfriend at Buca di Beppo in Strongsville. I informed the staff with the reservations that I made about my plans on asking her. They sat as at a very romantic booth. My girlfriend loved all the pictures on the walls and Christmas lights. They went along wonderfully with a bottle of Chianti and excellent food. I felt very comfortable proposing to her at a place that she enjoyed being at so much. After I proposed the staff came over and sang "Going to the Chapel". She absolutely loved it! Buca di Beppo helped make a wonderful memory for my future wife and I. We plan on coming back for our rehearsal dinner and anniversaries!

My family and I recently dined at Buca di Beppo in Strongsville for the first time. We sat at their signature kitchen table. My kids loved eating in there, watching all the food come out, and wearing chef hats. It was my daughters birthday and they brought out a candelabra and the whole staff came to sing to her. She thought it was wonderful and couldn't have been happier. The food was also incredible. My children had several choices on the kids menu and my husband and I could order the Buca small for ourselves. We had plenty of food to take home, along with wonderful memories. I will be coming back for any and all special occassions we now have. I highly recommend Buca di Beppo in Strongsville for families of any size to have a great dinner with a side of fun!

What a horrible restaurant - the worst in Pittsburgh! After asking information on the "special of the day" Shrimp Arrabiato, the waiter informed us he did not know what it was like. After he got a description from the kitchen, we ordered it, and instead of spicy shrimp on angel hair with a lemon-white wine sauce, we received a huge platter of spaghetti, with no sauce, and about 15 small shrimps, and a few cubes of (rubbery) mozzarella cheese. Instead of comping the dish or even offering some sauce in a bowl, they offered a free dessert. As if we wanted dessert after that horrible meal?! This was my first and last time at this restaurant.

I have only been to a Buca Di Beppo once, and it was a fairly positive experience. The food was good but it had a obvious commercial taste that does not measure up to some of the better Italian restaurants that I have eaten at. It was a friendy upbeat enviorment and the portions are big. I was just slightly disappointed . We had the Lasgna and some other pasta dish that I cannot seem to recall right now (apparently it did not make an impression). The Lasagna was adequate at best. I would definitely go back, but if given the option I could think of several better places I would choose.

I love Buca. I love the atmosphere decorations, bathrooms. Hilarious and ludicrousy tacky. There food is also very good. All family style. My favorite dish there is Rigatoni positano. It is rigatoni with chicken and eggplant in a tomato garlic sauce. Only problem is that it is only at certain locations. I also reccomen their canneloni, green beans, lemon chicken, chicken saltmbocca, Veal Parmigiana, Spaghetti, margherita pizza. And the deserts are decadent- Chocolate Vesuvio, aplle crostada and spumoni. Buon appetito.
