edited 05.05.10 to add: Got a call from Kerr Properties today around 10:30 am to inform me that my reviews on citysearch and dexknows would be removed. Also received a "thumbs down" on my review. I wonder who that's from? And all the other "thumbs down" on any other bad reviews for them... Should have known better from the get-go. Kerr Properties would not even let me have a rental application to fill out until I saw the inside of the house. Another one of their million "policies." My boyfriend and I decided to get out of apartment living and find some roommates, so as to have cheap rent. As soon as I saw this 3 bedroom house was less than $1000, I wanted to move in. Here's where the problems began. We had roommates move in and, not knowing any better (we've both only lived with one other roommate before and both were on the lease at the beginning), we did not have them go to Kerr and pay $40 a piece for rental applications and to get on the lease. Without any warning, we r... Read more

Kerr properties was better when Mr. kerr was involved. Now that other family members run it its pretty bad. Repairs go seemingly unreported to the owner so that small things become much larger. They will charge you back for everything. The people that run this buisiness are curt and rude even to their homeowners. they do not follow through on requests such as please check out the house there are more people living there than there should be. It took them 3 months of my nagging to find out, Trust me run dont walk.....

We've been renting from Kerr Property Management for a few years now in a couple of different houses. This company has been great to us and since we own a rental home out of state we understand both the landlord and tenant points of view. One of the houses we rented from Kerr had an owner that wouldn't repair much; which is no fault of Kerr since they don't own the rentals. This is why we moved to a different home with Kerr as we understood their hands were tied on our first home but the one we're in now, Kerr is authorized to do repairs and the maintenance staff does a wonderful job. A++++

This people are very very un-ethical, I left my place spotless in every way, floors, fixtures, oven, everything. Because I didnt have it prof cleaned with receipt they charged me three diff charges totaling over $500 from my $600 deposit. I was only there for just under three months.

The staff at Kerr is rude and unprofessional over the phone. They have inconvenient hours for working people, and they have no answering machine! It's all about their convenience, never prospective tenants'. I have friends who rented from Kerr and regretted it. They had a terrible time getting maintenance done in a timely manner (at least two different issues were NEVER taken care of, even though my friends were promised they would be), and when my friends moved out, Kerr charged them a hefty cleaning fee, even though they had left the house very clean.

Thank God for Kerr Properties rescuing us when they did! We almost got taken by another company (Fox Management). Kerr rented us a beautiful, 3 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath home, that is only 1 1/2 years old for $900.00 dollars a month, with the water, garbage and lawn care all included in the rent ! Plus a operating home security system monitored by Brinks! This is a dream home for us. No deposits, just the rent for the month. Kerr was so nice, they even told us, that if we didn't qualify for the house, the would work with us. The best part is the neighborhood is in a new exclusive West Hills area, the same type of area that Fox Management promised but never delivered. The only 3 bedroom house they showed us, turned out to be a dump. But the picture on the Fox Management website was different than the house they showed us. Plus Fox Management, wanted a $200.00 to hold it, until we passed a credit check etc. Well, while the gal was yapping from Fox Management, one of our cell phones rang, an... Read more

From the moment Kerr took over the property we were living in, it has been nothing but problems. From getting repairs to simple communication, they have failed every tenant. They are inflexible and rigid. They do not handle issues promptly, and they are rude and unprofessional. Every time I call, I am transferred from person to person, and each time someone else takes my call, I have to re-explain why I'm calling; they speak to their tenants like they're burdens, and can't be bothered with them! All the women in that office need to get off their high horses, and actually provide some CUSTOMER SERVICE! The properties are run down, crappy, in need of A LOT of repairs (which is almost impossible to get) and just generally slums. Oh, and if you have a mold problem, be prepared to get the city involved, because that's what it took before Kerr did anything about it!! In fact, don't waste your time trying to contact Kerr over and over again, just get the higher authorities involved, because ... Read more

It seems like there is only 1 person administering rentals so it takes a lot of phone tag to see a place. they do offer some affordable if a little run-down housing.
