I love this show. I especially love seeing the people in sports cars going 20 or 30 over getting pulled over. Anything over 10 mph over is not good. I admit I go 5 or so over but seriously what's the rush? If you have to be somewhere leave early and learn what times the traffic starts. Instead of endangering everyone's lives leave ahead of time. As for the tailgaters, all I can say is if you come up behind me like a bat out of hell I will break, HARD. I will continue to slow down until they go around. I've had people come up on my ass when there was plenty of space everywhere at 6 am before work, I mean come on seriously. Stop being jack asses and just go around it's not that hard. If you don't have the patience and have to tailgate someone or speed then you shouldn't be driving in the first place. Hope all speeders out there get tickets.

Driving above the speed limit does increase the risk. Past studies have concluded that driving below the FLOW OF TRAFFIC increases the risk of an accident 10x than driving faster than the flow of traffic.

It's all about flow of traffic. As long as you're not that guy in the sports car who comes flying out of nowhere at about 40 mph over the speed limit, most speeders don't really bother me that much. I usually do about 10 mph over myself.

Speeders and tailgaters!  What is so important that you have to risk everyone else's life to get their just ahead of the car in front of you?  If you have to speed, stay in the passing lane.  Just don't come riding up on my back end like some bat out of hell!  Especially since you probably can't tell that there is a whole line of slow traffic ahead of me!

The noly reason there are road signs are so that we know what speed togo. Then once traffic goes faster then that is the speed you go at. People who drive at the posted limit while everbody else is doing 10 above are a real danger.

Not only I have seen speeders here in my area, but I have seen cops speed without their police lights on! They need to give themselves a ticket.

One thing I will never understand is why do American cars have speedometers that go over 100 if we're not legally allowed to go faster than 65? I don't see too many of us driving our car out to the Autobon anytime soon.

I tend to be a quick driver but I never go a lot faster than the other traffic. People who do generally don't live long.

So pikachan, we're going to make jails very crowded places if we follow your advice. But at least we'll have the most dangerous members of our society, the dreaded speeder, off the streets. LOL. Posted speed limits are not always the best guide to the safest speed. I have seen relatively high speed limits posted on roads that are unsafe to drive 15 mph slower, and low speed limits where the traffic would benefit from one 10mph higher. I'm not advocating driving at the maximum speed your vehicle can handle, but an extra 5 to 15 mph, depending on conditions, is a long way from the biggest killer in traffic.

Speeding isn't that bad when you're going with the flow of traffic. You could be going at the speed limit and be doing some dangerous things on the road. Speeding isn't bad when you're able to do it on an empty highway. Even with moderate traffic conditions it's okay to go up to 15-20 MPH above the speed limit and stay safe and away from the cops radar. The key to driving is going with the flow. Going too slow and blocking up traffic causes accidents.

They post these speed limits not only to ensure the safety of other drivers, but the safety of YOU. Remember that next time you just HAVE to get somewhere one minute earlier.

Very deadly and need to be pulled aside by cops and thrown in jail by cops. Speeding, like drunk driving causes lives and can wreck your car as well.
