Why would I say Ok? Well, my parents died four years, almost to the day, apart. Prior to their deaths each suffered from dementia and it was very tough seeing them go through it. My dad was first so he, at least, had my mom to help and be there for him. Mom's decline and death was tougher because I couldn't be there for her like I wanted. At the end for each of them I was relieved, to a small extent, because they were only shells of the people I knew and loved. It, to me, was ok because it was their time to leave.

It is important to prepare yourself for this, like have a good alabi for example.

Twice now, for me. I was turning thirteen when my father died and I was lost. My mother died ten years ago, and while I was not devastated, it was as though the last link to my childhood had been lost.

I lost my mother just a little over two years ago.  She was a wonderful Christian lady who loved Jesus Christ, her family, and people in general.  I know she is in the arms of Jesus Christ, and someday I will see her again.

was not sure how to rate this. it was bad to lose both of my parents. my dad will be 14 years next week. my mother was only one and a half years. both were sudden. even though we did not have perfect times together { my mother in particular could be real hard on us} it still is an odd feeling to realize that both are gone.

Death itself is a mystery, but it's a major part of life. Right now, I can feel for anyone who has lost a loved one. I just lost my mother a few days ago. It doesn't seem as though she should be gone, and I miss her already. Mom had been ailing so much in the past few years with a lot of pain. However, she had Christ as her Savior, so her problems are over. It's such a blessing and honor to have such a wonderful lady for a mother, and I know we'll be reunited someday in Heaven. I love you, Mother.... I'll see you soon!

My father died on May 7th 1981, the day before my 27th birthday and I still miss him. I thank God every day of my life that my father accepted Christ before his death so I know I'll be seeing him again. It was absolutely a big event in my life.

I lost my mother when I was 5 years old and I know it affects me even to this day.
