The problem with this item, is that its clearly possible to do both. You could pocket the money and turn in the wallet. That way, he gets his ID back and you get a little payback. Personally I think I'd drop it off with the cops and let them give it to him. Some of the enemies I have I wouldn't trust them not to find a way to screw me for being nice to them.

If it were one of my enemies, I'd just pocket it...especially if it were 'King Vitamin' or the guy on 'Quaker Oats. And the Kool Aid guy too

I have an enemy? Perfect time to be hollier than thou.

I'd return the wallet and add $10 with a little note, "You seem to need this more than I do.  Can you just send me a receipt for tax purposes? I think it's about time you had another driver's license picture, don't you? You've put on at least forty pounds.  I see that you have a doctor's appointment with a proctologist.  I always knew you were an asshole."

Okay, I really wouldn't, but I would be tempted.

They'd get the wallet back.  I don't hate anyone enough to make them go through getting all their crap back.

I would find a way to get it back to them. No matter how rotten they were to me. Of course with my luck I would probably get accused of taking some of the money from their purse/wallet anyway.at least I would try and do the right thing. Maybe I would send it in the mail anonymously.  i would not feel great about myself if I kept the money. only would make me the jerk.

A good opportunity to change an enemy into a friend. Of course, turn it in.

Pocket the money.  If you are my enemy, than you screwed me over in the beginning, karma is a b*tch  :)

Always take the high road, turn it in. There is no need in becoming an enemy to yourself by stealing. Guilt can be the worse adversary a person wished they never met.

I'd do everything in my power to return that wallet (even tossing in a few extra bucks for good measure). Not only is it the correct thing to do, but it's a glorious opportunity to show my enemy that he may have had me pegged wrong all along (assuming the enmity wasn't all on MY side). Once returned (a personal delivery would be preferable), I'd have several ways to play the situation: civil discourse, with an amicable parting; extended discussion, with the potential for reconciliation; the old "shrug-thanks", with a continuation of displeasure; or a greater helping of spite and nastiness on my enemy's part (whereupon my taking of the "high road", as it were, would be a more-than-satisfying way to make my exit). Perhaps if people were to invest more of themselves into the harder choices more often, they'd have a gradual cessation of people who'd consider them "enemies".

I am not a person that has enemies, so I don't believe there would be anybody who I would take the money from. I wouldn't want somebody to take advantage of my mistake and rob me, so I would not do that to anybody else.

Well, I don't really have any "enemies," so it's hard for me to imagine pocketing it. But if the guy is really evil, I might give it to charity, in his name, and have them send him a thank you letter.

Turn it in, but with a little less money and maybe plant a business card for the local strip club for his wife to find.

I'll turn the money in unless it is an ex-girlfriend who owes me money than I'll keep the money as collateral.

I have only one enemy in life, and he has been an enemy for thirty-four years. If I found his wallet he sure as hell wouldn't get it back. Right or wrong!

I have had many people who disliked me (can't claim anyone as a true enemy) and have had them change around by similar types of things. Would still help them, no matter what.

this is a hard one.im just not as good hearted as some of you i hope that those answers were honest cuz it means there really is some hope for us all out there. i guess it would depend on what enemy. if it was just a friend id had a falling out with id more than likely return it. if it was somebody i trusted to come into my home and they stole from me. id keep the money in a heartbeat and throw the rest in the garbage. so it would depend on the person.

If I really didn't like the guy, I wouldn't hesitate to take his money and shred his driver's license, social security card, etc. Even my mean side has a soft spot, however, so things that couldn't be replaced, like pictures, would find their way back to him somehow. Also, if it was a considerable amount of money and I knew he would get in deep trouble or it would affect more than just him, I would consider returning the money. You never know, that one act might change things between the two of you.

Took of an extra star because: What if he lives in a different country and he was just on vacation? But if I could get to him I'd bring the money to him because it's the right thing to do.

I would turn it in, but not as a way of making a friend out of an enemy; that's not the way those types of things usually work. The enemy might think you're a dope, so to those ends I agree with Irishgit. There's no use in giving them that sort of satisfaction. I'll give it to the cops and let them handle it.

Pocket the money. This happened to me when I was 16 but the person was a stranger, I turned it in. An enemy in my mind would be paying the price for his/her negligence.

A few years ago, I received a check for some weekend work I did, for an employer that I really didn't care for. When I cashed the check, the teller errored and gave me an extra $600. I was 5 miles away by the time I noticed. I took the money back. The teller had no idea about the error. I would absolutely return the money. What better way to make a friend of an enemy?

This one is fairly easy, I'd turn it in. there is an old saying that goes - If you want to drive your enemy crazy, be really nice to him. Besides, nobody carries much cash around these days anyway.

Depends if that enemy is a relative. Seriously, if I found an enemy realtive's wallet with money in it, I would donate it to a worthy cause, not return it but NOT keep it for my personal gain. If it was a total stranger, friend, or nice realtive, I'd return it immediately.

Turn it in. Not only is that doing the right thing, it might help to make that enemy turn into a new friend. Plus, the high ground you have by doing this will drive the enemy nuts and he will realize that you truly are better.

Well, I can't think of anyone that counts as an enemy (there are people I don't like all that much, but they're not enemies), but I'd turn it in regardless of how I feel about 'em. Why become something you dislike just to get back at someone you don't like?

No matter how much I disliked the wallet's owner, my conscience wouldn't allow me to spend the money. Besides, it might allow us to reconcile.
