Final Fantasy is the ultimate game series: part Lord of the Rings, part Star Wars. And the sphere grid innovation developed in this game was a stroke of genius because it allows you to choose how you want to develop your characters.

Noting the obvious: Awesome graphics, and a traditional if not Classis RPG that is Final Fantasy. Good music coupled with some good old action, and storyline (important of course) drives this game to be better than most RPG's out there by far. In the end, just watch out for sin, I mean Sin. It'll get you in the end.. The only thing you will be wondering after playing it, and seeing the next sequel being released is - I thought the one I just played was the final one? (but you eventually stop hating the fact that it is not the final one, and jump on the next one).

A great Final Fantasy (especially when combined with X-2). The voice acting can be a little rough at times, but it's an otherwise solid game with one of the best storylines =)

Absolutely great game!!! I'll have to play through it again before XII comes out. Great story, graphics, etc. I liked the inclusion of voice acting. My favorite part of the game was the Blitzball mini-game. Once I started playing it, I forgot about the story of the game itself for a few weeks. I played tournament after tournament for about a month before continuing with the game. Loved it.

Call me crazy, but I do not like Final Fantasy much anymore. The voice acting killed this game, not because it was bad, (it actually wasn't that bad) but because it was there! It just doesn't seem like Final Fantasy to me with the voice acting. The storyline was a little weak, it never kept me too interested in the game. However, the graphics are beautiful and the music (one of my favorite things about the FF series)is delightful. (Until FFX-2 killed it with pop music.) It was an all-right experience, it just wasn't Final Fantasy to me. (FFVII and VIII are my favorite)

Worst in the series. The voice acting was pretty bad, the story is pretty much the recycled save the world plot. The thing I hated most about it was, NO EXPLORATION. There is no world map and there are no secret places that you can find travelling around, you are practically shown exactly where to go by little arrows. The cloister of trials puzzles become frustrating and tedious. The characters while for the most part are ok Tidus gets on my nerves as a whiney jock who never got enough attention from daddy, Rikku is paper thin and clueless and Yuna is as boring as they come. These characters pale in comparison to earlier games of Final Fantasy such as 6, 7 and 8. The graphics and music are this games high points, the graphics are very pleasing to the eye and the music fom Nobuo Uematsu is wonderful. The music doesn't ever quite match up to his earlier works in Final Fantasy 6 and 7 though. I recommend this to Final Fantasy n00bs but to those of us who have been playing them since the S... This is easily the best game of Playstation 2, and possibly the best RPG ever made. Gorgeous graphics, 72+ hours of gameplay, gripping story, awesome characters and a great way of making your characters stronger, the shpere grid. This is one hell of a game that should not be overlooked. If you have a PS2, get this game. If you don't have one, buy one for this game

Quite possibly the best ever of the Final Fantasy series. This game got me better than when I played FF8, and I LOVED FF8. I love everything about this game: graphics, gameplay, leveling, story, fighting, the damage/hp/mp cap breaks. Revolutionary game in the FF series, leading the way for future FF series games for PS2. (Writing this not having played X-2 yet...)

Good game over all I'd say, but thefact you STILL can't fight with your own moves, like moving to the left and right while fighting is the reason I rated it not so good instead of good. Go to my code site: www.freewebs.com/grantheftturismo/ Its got a whole lot o' codes for PS2, X-BOX, GameCube, N-64, and PC!!!!

I was very impressed with this game. The characters were very well done and the worlds were vibrant and beautiful. I was very pleased to play an RPG where the characters actually talked. FFX raises the bar for other RPGs.

So in-depth, beautiful graphics and gameplay design, very interactive and immersive (I was actually upset during various story points), even blitzball is addicting.

This is a great game. The voice-overs wern't the best but it makes up for it with the stunning graphics and numorous side quests. Some people have played it over 200 hours, and I can see why.

The First few games in the serise where good but now that they have made a 12th one is ripping it i would have gave it a higher ranking than this but there's been far to many to call it exellent now.

I love this game. The storyline is great, the battle system is very nice, and it's got some of the best music I've ever heard in any game. It's a true masterpiece. Blitzball is also an excellent addition to the game. The only annoyance is the difficulty of obtaining items to unlock celestial weapons, but other than that, I have absolutely no complaints about this masterpiece.

The overall atmosphere of this game is so overwhelming that you could heal yourself spiritually just playing this game through. Mind you the only thing i didn't like about this game was the lack of flexibility in exploration- But i hear this is changing in X-2. The ending was also kind of unexpected with its introduction of melancholy but extremely emotional. Overall, this game travels along the lines of the idea of the diffusion between dreams and reality- and does a good job in captivating the player.

This is the WORST Final Fantasy ever! The voice acting SUCKS. The storyline is not up to par for a Final Fantasy game. If it was made by lets say Capcom, id give it a better mark, but with Square on the job this is a travesty.

I cannot believe some of you arer calling it bad. Hironobu Sakaguchi's masterpiece shold be, and is, admired by all gaming companies as they aspire to achieve this. The characters are very well varied and the system is great. Superb graphics and an absolutely great score. I love Final Fantasy, and can't wait for the next.

Unlike the below poster, I have finished Final Fantasy X. It has the poorest finish I've ever saw in such a game. Anyway, I have a hard time believing that these characters really even care about each other. The only bit of real unforced warmth was when lulu was holding wakka after his blitzball game. Great graphics, but graphics aren't everything.

This game is unbelievable. I am a Final Fantasy nut, and I bought the Playstation 2 just for this game. The graphics of this RPG are fantastic, the gameplay is well done, and the story is pretty enthralling. Enough gushing now...here are the important parts. I have not yet finished the game, but I have played 60+ hours already. The story has been very well done and there are cool surprises along the way. At first, it was hard to get used to the voice acting, but now I like it a lot. (Except for the voice of Cid. He sounds like a hillbilly!) There aren't really any annoying characters like there have been in past Final Fantasy games either. Square breaks out of the traditional leveling up system by introducing the Sphere Grid, which allows you to customize your characters' stats by beating enemies and earning spheres. It's quite complex and it's up to you how you want to develop your characters. Also, you can switch your characters in battle _during_ the battle, which is a v... Read more

One of my favorite games in the whole world! First of all, even if you don't like the game you're going to love the graphics! The controlls are easy and they took away the irritating chore of walking around the world map. Also, the mini-game called Blitzball is really fun, even though I've never won a game yet. They've also gotten rid of most of the man status effects that FFIV had.You get to play as 7 characters, such as my favorite, Wakka and the legendary guardian, Auron. There's also a new way to build up your character to your likings. I'll stop here evn though I've probably gave up most of the game. So in conclusion, his game offers up to 70 hours of gameplay, new development systems, and many more things for you to enjoy.
