Great Place for breakfast. the biscuits and jam are unreal! I've also been there for lunch and I was not let down. Worth the wait on the weekends.

I went here over the weekend and had to write a review. This place is worth raving about! I can't believe how good the French Toast was and the Herbed Goat Cheese with Salmon was cooked perfectly. I am always in search for a great breakfast place and I have finally found it. Its a very happy place and the service is excellent. Portion size was right on. The owner seriously knows what he's doing when it comes to breakfast. I cant wait to go back :)

I have been to Geraldine's twice with groups of five, once for lunch on a weekday afternoon and once for breakfast on a late Sunday morning. Both times the service was friendly, maybe a little slow but only due to how busy they are. Everyone at my table was very pleased with the menu options (vegetarians and carnivores alike!), and equally pleased with the quality of our meals and the service we received. I received prompt, friendly service whether there as a business lunch or with friends and small children. Both times everyone at the table drove out of their way to go to Columbia City and Geraldine's - worth it, we will definitely be back!

Friend of mine lives in Columbia City and loves this place. I tried this place 5 times, and the food & service keeps going downhill. Food: Good variety of breakfasty/diner food at first. Breakfast is local favorite, but have had better breakfast at Coastal Kitchen, Glo's, B&O, or Broadway Grill. Diner food selection is okay: sandwiches, salad. But last time I ate there, I found 2 hairs in my salad & the cook forgot to put the meat in the dish! Had to send back. Food is not that great, or exceptional tasting. Atmosphere: Clean, bright. Lots of babies & their stay-at-home mommies & locals. Service: The staff is super-smiley, and friendly, but they always seem to be chatting away behind the counter. I've noticed every time I'm there, customers are trying to get their attention for service and often see customers having to go UP to the counter to get their bill. Price: Dishes run $7-$11, which is normally okay, but you don't get much for what you pay for. Overall: If you live in Co... Read more

I live up the street so I eat there at least once a week. I prefer Sunday breakfast but you need to come early if waiting for a seat or crowded places bother you. Don't be in a hurry either. I love the french toast (thick and chewy), pancakes (homestyle and thick), and omeletes and egg scrambles. I think the portions are small so you end up buying a side. The bacon is thick and chewy with little fat. If doing lunch or dinner, I've enjoyed the bacon cheesebuger, chicken chutney salad, or a bowl of chili. Not everything on the menu is great so look around at other plates. The one thing that seems to be dependably, is the quality of the food and ingredients. Fresh and wholesome.

I have been here several times, during their breakfast and lunch times. And I must say their breakfast always leaves me wanting more. I especially enjoy their apple pancakes they are an absolute must-try! I did enjoy the gooey grilled cheese sandwich, and who could go wrong with sweet potato fries??? Overall, lunch is simply decent, nothing to right home about.

This place is wonderful... From the staff that's busy yet always able to give top notch friendly service to the food which is delicious. My personal favorite are the biscuits and gravy! Great neighborhood feel - this place is one more great aspect to what Columbia City is growing into.

Personable service and YUMMY food. They have everything you might want on the menu for comfort, with a twist. Beyond the basics, a tastey treat! I am always pleasantly surprised if even just ordering a burger. Very casual atmosphere with beyond expectations food. I highly recommend it.

Geraldine's has great food and a lovely room. They're patient with families with kids and are always warm, even when they're swamped. It does get busy on weekends so we go early - like 9am - for breakfast. The Emerald City Scramble is delicious and my husband loves their steel-cut oats with fresh fruit. Columbia City's got another fun place to go!

The past three visits to Geraldine's have been very disappointing. The service was horrible and the food was ok. We keep on giving Geraldine's more chances, but keep on being let down. It's ok for take out, but even midweek it takes forever to place an order for a beverage or a meal. Every time we have been there we see people leave after waiting for several minutes to be seated.

In Short The bright, sunny dining room has a row of windows looking out onto Rainier Avenue, a checked tile floor and cheerful walls. Families from Mount Baker and beyond sit at retro diner tables simply adorned with daisies or share booths; singles prefer the long lunch counter. The menu offers updated comfort food, with dependable standards like burgers (accompanied by sweet potato fries), BLTs and breakfast items.

The experience I had at Geraldines was less than average at best. Our server had an attitude and apparently did not know how to smile or conversate with their guests. When our food finally came, it was ok. Nothing to write home about. The portions were small. For the prices, I would expect better quality and a bigger portion. With so many places to choose from, I will not be back....

Geraldines Counter is an absolute must! Whether it is for breakfast, lunch or dinner you will be so pleased. The staff has always been friendly and full of personality! A relaxed atmosphere with comfort food!! Just the right touches...they know what they are doing here! Sit at the counter or bring a friend (s) and dine at a table. You can see the efforts of the excellent kitchen staff and the owner is present and simply a delight!

Food is pretty good, but service is bad. Slow and not very attentive. Menu is very limited, but tasty. Wait for food can be long, so order ahead and take it to go.
