Assara is great. Almost done with my treatment there after 8 months. Totally recommend. Angela is super nice and does a fantastic job. She is a perfectionist and make sure you get the best results.

I've been to Assara a few times for the laser facial plus microderm. The whole experience is about 60 minutes and not painful at all. The laser moves fast all over your face and it can get a little hot when it hits darker skin spots. This type of facial treatment isn’t like a essential oil type of thing. Its high tech, there’s the laser beeping and the micro machine whirring, but somehow the technician makes it all seem enjoyable. Afterwards, my skin looks noticeably smoother with a real-life-swear-to-god glow. I am extremely satisfied.

Angela remembered my name on my second visit. I know she wasn’t reading it off a chart because I first saw her in the waiting room. She’s very good at what she does. She’s wonderfully chatty, so she gets an extra star. She’s quick and efficient.

My husband and I are critics of everything. We both had laser hair removal at Assara last Saturday. He had his back done while I did my legs. We tried to be critical, but we have no real complaints overall. Our services were great (the actual laser is a little painful but bearable; I'll probably get the numbing cream next time). It’s clean and professional. Good Job Assara.

Assara Laser was a great experience for me....the service was excellent and the laser techs were so nice. I got my bikini line done about 2 weeks ago and still i feel great about the job. I recommend you try this place out. I also found a deal that can help out anyone who doesn't want to pay alot. Its at halfoffdepot and its in the new york section.....check it out!

Unlike most customers/reviewers for laser hair removal, I'm a guy. I've signed up for the "Unlimited" monthly plan and I love it. Here's why... Assara is located in the heart of midtown, right next to Rockefeller Center. It's right next to three subway lines. The office is discreet and never crowed. They have two clean, private treatment rooms just outside the waiting area. They have the Cynosure Elite laser system (among others). This laser is designed for the majority of skin tones/types out there. I have olive skin (not Caucasian or African American) and the laser works well on it - amazing results. The laser is effective and quick - most treatment sessions last about 45 minutes. And the most important thing - the laser technicians. Liz and Angela are professionals. They know the laser system well and will answer all your questions during the initial consultation. They have experience treating all areas of the body (even those sensitive areas for guys or gals) and will give you... Read more

I just finished a 7 month treatment at Assara. I'm disappointed that competitors are posting fake derogatory reviews here. It shows badly on them and on citysearch. How can real new yorkers get info when there's all this fake info here? Let me give you some straight info... I was a customer of their unlimited plan. That meant I pay $499 a month and I can laser every body part I want. The staff have a lot of experience, they are licenced estheticians and laser specialistst. The prices are very good, if you call around, you'll see that they price the lowest for services, and they do great work. I know 2 of the technicians at Assara personally, they have treated me, I know they work hard and are good people, so it makes me sad when I read mean spirited reviews like the one below... Bottom line... I've been an Assara customer for 7 months and I'm 100% satisfied. And that's news you can use. Happy holidays!

I looked in to laser hair removal a couple years ago, but the prices were ridiculous. It would have cost me $9,000 to laser my body. At that price I decided to continue shaving, waxing and plucking. I saw an ad for Assara and it said $449 a month and you can laser every body part you want. (I did: upper lip, arms, underarms, bikini and legs). At that price you can even do little areas like toes and nipples that sprout little hairs too. Very cool for me, indeed.

My fried who’s a modern dancer had laser hair removal last year and she was so happy about it she never shut up about it! Then I couldn’t’ believe my ears when I heard Kelly Rippa say on Regis & Kelly the other day that she did laser hair removal too. Now everyone is doing it! Knowing that real moms and honest celebs have done laser hair removal made me more comfortable. It sounded too high tech or extreme but I’ve done it twice now and it’s amazingly easy and now my hair grows back much slower and lighter and in small patches…. A HUGE improvement over my old dark hairy days! If you’re hesitant about laser google it and you’ll see how many ‘normal’ people have done it! (Including me lol jk)

I always read online reviews before I book a hotel. I didn’t know that there were reviews for places that do laser hair removal. It turned out to be really helpful because I’ve been thinking of doing some areas on my body but there seem to be so many laser places in Manhattan and I didn’t know how to make head’s or tails of all of them. Anyway, I read some reviews on a couple sites about Assara and figured that if all those people wrote favourably about them, they must be good. So I went in for a consultation and it was very good. I met with Angela. She was very pleasant. The place is clean and the girls who do the lasering are very polite and professional. I know you can’t always believe online reviews, but this place lives up to a lot of the glowing positive things people have said.

Two of my friends are clients here and have been pushing me to try it. I finally caved in and did a single session last week on my bikini. Obviously, this is a most sensitive region of my body. It was over before I knew it and it’s a really good job. I can’t imagine never getting a bikini wax again. It sounds too good to be true, but I’ve seen the results my friends have and I’m excited to see more.

I have experienced 3 laser facials and microdermabrasion sessions at Assara and I’m writing this here to review my experience. This clinic is in Midtown, so it’s convenient for me (I go on my lunch) I am only 32, but I find lately, that my skin is declining rapidly. I’ve read a lot on laser facials and microdermabrasion and I find this to be the last frontier before plastic surgery. It’s almost painless and quite relaxing and I see results. My skin feels like it’s stabilizing. Aging can b really scary, but the technicians here know a lot about skincare.

I was a client at another laser hair removal place in the City and I had NO results. My hair continued to grow as thick and annoyingly even after 4 treatments at the other place. So I switched to Assara and now I understand what real laser hair removal is about… My legs are completely smooth and I’m thinking about doing my underarms too.

I’ve done 3 treatments at Assara and I’m writing to tell everyone out there on CitySearch that this is a really good place to get lasered for hair removal. I’m only doing my upper lip now (not that I had a beard or anything!) and I think I’m done. The hair has not grown back at all. I think they do a really great job and it hurts less than waxing. Trust me, I know!

I received a great service at Assara last week and I wanted to tell you about it. The laser technicians were very discreet and respectful, because I was lasering my bikini, Brazilian of course. I was already dreading the embracement of having the technician zooming in on my bikini (front and back!). But she did a great job. She immediately put me at ease. She was polite and friendly and made me feel comfortable.

Like every other girl in western civilization I struggle with keeping my bikini hair controlled. It’s not only a summer worry, what about swimming at the gym in the winter and boyfriend rendez-vous and hook ups? I’m not into drastic solutions, but I realized that my shaving regimen had become drastic. I tried laser hair removal at Assara 2 months ago, (I went twice so far) and I have to say that I’m really happy with the results. My hair has already started to thin out and doesn’t grow as fast or as thick. It looks really good without the red bumps I usually got with waxing.

I had started a laser hair removal treatment in Austin, TX, and had crummy experience. I got a little burned and felt that it was kinda painful. I wasn’t going to venture into laser again, but my friend Laura kept telling me about this place and how good it was. So with a ton of trepidation I booked a visit for a treatment on my upper lip. It took 3 minutes, my session was great and it was not painful at all. The laser technician even had some extra time and agreed to laser my bikini and under arms on the spot. I guess not all lasers are created equal.

It’s hard to make head’s or tails of all the types of lasers companies are promoting for hair removal. There are IPL’S and Yag’s and who knows what else. But I’ve done some research and it turns out that for Caucasian people with dark hair the best laser is Alexandrite (Cynosure) and Assara has these lasers. That’s why when I get treatments they really are super effective and don’t burn me. They have the best lasers here.

I’m writing to give you all a good tip that Liz at Assara gave me yesterday. I’m the type of girl who spends lots of time in front of the mirror checking for hairs to pluck. I always find it hard to grab those tiny little ones that grow between my eyebrows. Sometimes it’s not even a hair it’s just the tip of the tiny beginning of a hair… Okay, so sue me, I’m very into looking groomed! Ok, so I told Liz about this and she said I could just do laser hair removal on that one tiny little space between my eyebrows and those hairs would never grow back. Trust me, I promise you that unibrows will never come back in style (sorry Frida Khalo!) so I'm safe to remove those hairs permanently.

I always thought laser hair removal was some kind of drastic procedure that people like dancers needed to get done. I mean, it’s not that my monthly waxing appointments didn’t really bother me but it all just seemed so extreme. Call me old fashioned but zapping off any hair sounded a little crazy to me, even if the hair would never grow back. That was, until my sister drgged me to the Assara open house last week. She figured that the only way I’d try it is if it was free (she figured right!) and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. It’s a little high tech, but this is one instance where technology really helps! At the open house I treated my underarms. The laser technician kept stressing to me that she was doing it faster because lots of people had come to the open house. She said that if I came for a real appointment the experience would feel much more personal. Well, this woman must be a crazy perfectionist because my underarms don’t have a single hair. I’m smooth and soft and t... Read more

I dragged my dad in 2 weeks ago to laser the hairs in his nose. Yes I did. Girls, if your father is embarrassing you with hairs growing in places they shouldn’t like ears, noses, eyebrows… Bring him in because if he’s like my dad he wants a quick solution. Well, to be honest my dad didn’t even care about the protruding nasal hairs… Oh gosh… Bit. we forced him anyhow. it took 5 minutes and he was done. And now I can look at him without being annoyed (heeheehee). One thing he said was that he smelled burnt for a couple hours. ( I guess the hairs in his nose we so long they got a little singed) but he said it wasn’t painful at all. And he actually just called to thank me. But I think the happiest person in all this is my mother.

I’m not into beauty treatments so laser hair removal was not my thing. Or so I thought. I went to the open house and got a free trial of laser hair removal on my arm pits. I’ll never shave again. The people who work there are really friendly and young and dynamic. They really take their time with me and I appreciate that. I’m more of a tomboy, but that doesn’t mean I like to shave!

I’ve been a aqua fit addict for a couple years and being in a bathing suit year-roud has turned me into a shaving addict too. Some of the younger ladies in my swimfit class suggested I try laser hair removal. It sounded a little draconian to me, but I still booked a consultation at Assara. I may not be a spring chicken (I’m 47) but I can still try young people’s new technologies if it’s going to make my life easier! So I did it at Assara. I did bikini and under arms (my leg hair is pale and patchy so I just let it go). The price was good and I’m at my 3rd treatment, they say you need about 6. Already my hair barely grows back and I haven’t shaved since.

I went to the open house at Assara last week and got a treatment to see if I wanted to go through with lasering. Okay, I won’t lie, I also went to get the FREE treatment they were offering. They had a pretty nice set up, (wine and food and free laser treatments? pretty cool huh?). One of the laser technicians that I met was a European woman. She had a pretty cute accent, but was incredibly knowledgeable about the lasers, my skin and how to get the best results. I strongly suggest you check out their next open house or book a consultation here, they are beyond professional.

I spent last Thursday night at Assara at their open house. MY friend has been a client of theirs for a couple months and she wouldn’t shut up about it. She kept saying ‘just try it’ just try it’… Like all I have to do in my life is spend money to have my upper lip laser beamed just to find out if it works for me! That was my attitude, but boy was I wrong. (Contrary to popular belief, I can admit when I’m wrong!) What got me to try laser hair removal sessions at Assara was their free trial they were offering at the open house. I got my upper lip lasered (it seriously took 3 minutes… and I walked out with a smooth non-irriated upper lip)… So I’m booking a package to have my upper lip hair lasered.

Wow! Where are so many reviews on laser hair removal it was hard to make heads or tails of it all! It’s like booking a hotel in Vegas, how to choose one when there are so many options? Anyway, let me help you cut to the chase. I’ve done lots of research and even went to 2 other laser centers to have consultations before I chose Assara for my laser hair removal center. The other places were more expensive, but I was willing ot pay more if it meant I was going to get better service, more convenient appointment times etc. Anyway, turns out that Assara is the best in all fields. They keep it clean and professional, the laser techs are thorough and they don’t waste time so I can have appointments on my lunch break.

When I heard about the open house at Assara I thought it was a scam. I mean, isn’t a business open every day like an ‘open house’??? Anyway, I got dragged to the open house by my friend who’s obsessed with my hair. (Okay, so I might have a little ‘lady sideburns’ and hairy arms…) It turns out that going to the Assara open house was a great decision because they were giving away free treatments that night! Seriously, lasering can be pricey (I thought) so a free treatment was just what I needed. So we got there had a few glasses of bubbly and some sandwiches (thanks for dinner Assara!) and then the laser tech called us in. She let my friend come in to the treatment room with me because I was nervous. She explained how the laser works and gave us some ridiculous eye protection glasses to put on. Then she did a little zapping on my sideburns and OMG… I was shocked and I still am shocked… the hair just POUF! Disappears… and the skin wasn’t red or irritated… Anyway, lasering is something you... I started as a scared client, thinking the laser would probably kill me! Now thanks to Liz I understand how it all works and I’m seeing amazing result! Through our little lasering sessions I’ve gotten to know her and she’s realy great. The best part we always share great skin care tips! I was at the spa getting a facial last week and I mentioned that I hated the blue veins around my nose. The aesthetician looked around guiltily and whispered to me that I should try going to this place to have them lasered off. I have to admit that all this laser stuff is a little weird to me. I mean, please, what is this star trek? Anyway, I went for it because my aesthetician has never steered my wrong. It was a little painful but only for like, 5 seconds. After that it was over and a week later the friggin spider vein is gone! Whadda ya know… the darn thing actually works! Thanks Assara.

I sent my boyfriend to Assara to have his hands lasered. I know, it sounds weird… but he has these long lean beautiful fingers (he’s a bass player) but he’s insanely hairy… right up until his pinky finger. Anyway, he said it took 10 minutes and wasn’t really painful and his hands look amazing and 100% hair free. He might just become a hand model. He came home from his second appointment talking about having his chest, back and shoulders done… I’m shocked. He usually doesn’t want to do anything remotely beauty-related now he wants to do more laser hair removal. That’s a testament to the good people at Assara.

I’m from New Jersey (Englewood baby!) and my friend told me about Assara in Manhattan. I had laser hair removal on my underarms at a place here in NJ and had okay results. Nothing like, wild that made me want to laser anything else. Anyway, my friend swears by Assara so I decided to book a bikini treatment when I was in town shopping. How convenient, they’re a block from all the best shops on 5th Avenue! I can’t believe how amazing the results are. The laser tech was really nice and did an amazing job. I’ll spare you the details, but let’s just say my bikini is very smooth and soft and 100% hair-free! I never thought I’d find something better than NJ… but Assara did it!

Hello. I would like to review my experience at Assara. The laser center on 51street. I lasered my back and shoulders. I am a man of a certain age (young and single at 47 years of age!). Lately I am noticing that women do not like the hair on me. They like me, but the more I ask about it the more they tell me it seems they would rather it was smooth and hair free. So I obliged and started a laser treatment to remove the hair. I am completely surprised and blown away, I mean, where did the hair go? After a lifetime of being the dark hairy man, I am a smooth lovable man once again. They are professional and courteous and I suggest you try them at Assara. Thank you.

So my dad had these annoying freaking nose hairs always sticking out. And me and my sister bought him a nose hair trimmer last Christmas… He laughed when he opened the present and then proceeded to leave the trimmer under the bathroom sink collecting dust. Did he even use it once? Judging by his nose hair situation, I’d say it was never used. Anyway, we decided to get my dad a gift certificate for 1 laser hair removal treatment on his nose hairs. Thinking he would just take the certificate and never use it, we also booked him an appointment, which he actually showed up at. He was so surprised that it took only 5 minutes, and his freaking nose hairs never grew back. The laser girls at Assara told him this is not typical, usually it takes more than one treatment, but he’s got no more protruding nose hairs, and it’s 9 months later! Thanks Assara.

It seems a little too futuristic for me. But anyway, I was always getting ingrown hairs on my bikini and it ended up looking a little gross. Anyway, that was then this is now. I discovered that lasering is the only way (if you have a sensitive bikini line) to achieve a smooth hair free bikini area. Seriously, you’ll want to try it. I have zero ingrown hairs, zero red bumps and the hair does not grow anymore! What a /$%?&*! Miracle!

I am currently suing another laser center in Manhattan because they burned me. I have pictures to prove it and my lawyer is confident I’ll get a nice settlement. You’d think since getting burned I’d never go under the laser again… But I found Assara and I started again. They are very trustworthy and careful with their lasers, the clinic is clean and they take all the right safety procedures… I’m almost done lasering and I’ll have hair free legs and bikini soon.

Hi, I just found out from my friend that it’s actually common to be burnt when you’re getting laser hair removal. When my friend told me this I was shocked because I’ve been lasering my legs and under arms at Assara for 6 months and I never had anything you could classify as a burn. So am I just lucky? Or do most people go to shoddy laser centres that don’t care enough about their clients? But Assara is a wonderfully consistent laser center where they take great care with their clients. If you’re been burned, like my friend, you owe it to yourself to try Assara.

I’ve been researching laser prices for almost a month. I wanted to make sure I got the best deal before I signed up. I wanted to laser my bikini, legs, under arms and maybe upper lip and arms. The prices vary wildly from one place to another, so calling around is smart. But let me save you some time, Assara has the best price. They do this thing they call UNLIMITED where you can laser any part of your body as often as needed for $449 a month. Sounds like a lot of doe but if you’re paying $300 for legs, and $100 for upper lip and $200 for bikini… Well needless to say it adds up and the unlimited program is the most economical way to go. I’m only saying this to help… Don’t overpay for lasering, go to Assara.

Everyone cares about overspending, not one single person will knowingly pay too much for something. SO listen up, ‘Cause I found out that there’s a whacked out overcharging scam at most laser places in the city. Most centres charge crazy high prices per area. So upper lip will be $100 per treatment and legs hundreds more, and bikini more hundreds. So you end up paying SO MUCH MONEY! It’s crazy. Anyway I realized that if I signed up for this Assara unlimited program for $449 I could laser anything I wanted. So I go in once a month and do upper lip, under arms, bikini, legs… and even those little hairs on my toes! And it only costs $449. It might sounds expensive, but it’s the cheapest price around… Dare to compare guys; Assara is the most economical way to become hair free!
