We went to the bistro with party of five. We tried chiken Momo and special platter as an appetizer. It was very good. For main course we orderd chicken tikka masala, chicken sag(nepali), Mix tandoori grill and alo govi. Every thing was very very good. Must try!!!

I ate at Himalayan Bistro and can not recommend. Food was not good and not fresh. Ordered chicken masala, rice, naan and somosa. Somosa must have been a week old, not edible. Masala was watery and not very flavorful. Naan was cooked to charcoal. Restaurant was pretty clean, counter needed to be washed down. Decor is sparse. Service was adequate. Not recommended.

We'd seen some positive reviews here, but were still stunned at just how good this food was. We wound up going through an appetizer (Nepalese), two naans, two entries and dessert because we couldn't get enough. Nice atmosphere, superb service, they were quite accommodating to our baby. The only problem we had was spice -- if they ask and you really want mild, order mild. =) Great times -- we'll be back..

I visited Himalayan Bistro with a party of 3 for dinner. Service was very good, everyone was attentive and helpful. Mango Lassi there is one of the best in Boston, I definitely recommend to try it . We ordered a variety of Nepali/Indian dishes, both types were excellent. Lamb Momos were great, same for Lamb Korma and few other ones. Beer and wine selection is pretty good. Overall we enjoyed our visit and plan to go to this restaurant in the future.

We've eaten at many Indian restaurants, but have never had any Nepali food, which tastes similar, but not identical to what the Indian dishes. With that in mind, we chose mostly Nepali options: The vegetable Momos were delicious and unusual -- somewhat similar to Chinese steamed vegetarian dumplings, but with a filling and a sauce with a strong flavor of cumin. The Bhanta Bharta (cubed eggplant with peppers and other vegetables in a spicy sauce) was also excellent and quite different from any eggplant dish I've had in the past. The other dishes were a fish special and "vegetable bolls in a sauce" (which was very much like a vegetarian chicken tikka masala), were also delicious, but they were much more "Indian" in flavor and therefore very familiar. The service was helpful and friendly. There were 3 of us, and with drinks and tip, the bill came to about $70. It's well worth the drive to West Roxbury. Highly recommended

This is not authentic Indian food. Very limited Nepali menu. Food was bland. Service was good. Ambience is OK. The chef was not able to explain the ingredients in English. Overall I will not rate it as high as other Indian places around.

Serving North and South Indian favorites including curries and dosas, as well as unique Nepalese dumplings and other regional specialties.
