I called EDAH after my regular vet was was unable to provide a "fast" appointment for my extremely sick cat. I was able to get a SAME DAY appointment late in the day. After several tests, Snuggles was diagnosed with Diabetes. Dr. Curd explained everything completely, she was fast but thorough. I knew I was in for some serious vet bills (the staff gave me an estimate prior) and was offered the insurance option, but declined. I was able to pay AFTER his stay (3 days) which gave me time to gather my funds. It has been about 2 months since Snuggles was diagnosed and I buy the diet food and insulin directly from EDAH which prices are expensive but comparable to (1800petmeds and petRX). I have realized that owning a diabetic pet is going to be expensive. If you are a pet owner, you must be willing to pay what is required for a healthy happy pet. If you are not willing then maybe you shouldn't be a pet owner. I recommend EDAH to anyone if you want a friendly, knowlegable veterinarian... Read more

If you walked into a medical clinic without insurance or military backing you wouldn?t be served for free or for pennies. Medical treatment for pets cost about the same as humans. I am a client and friend of Dr. Curd. It is very disturbing to think there are individuals who are so ignorant and argent about pets and people. Dr.Curd is a christen woman who for the past two years has been running her Vet clinic and taking care of her 3 kid?s while her husband has been serving our country in Egypt and Iraq. I find it insulting when ignorant and argent people expect a free ride, and when they don?t get one; they take it out on innocent people. All I can say is MY GOD HAVE MERCY on those who judge with such self-centered argent hearts. Bye the way this past summer I had to have my 15 year black-lab boxes mix put down. Dr.Curd came to my home and helped my family with this hard decision. Unless you own a large farm animal most Vets don?t make house calls. Sincerely, Satisfy and Grateful C... Read more

I love this hospital...i've been a client for about 5 years now and all i can say is that the staff and doctors at ellison are GREAT!!!! Any time terminator needed anything all i had to do was call and they were able to fit me in their schedule, unlike my son's doctor's office which is usually booked about 1 week in advance. I love the fact that i am able to drop him off for daycare and get everything i need done whether it's shots or grooming this place is a one stop shop. As far as prices goes well let me just say they never tried to drain my wallet. They are able to give you estimates after the initial exam and that allows me to see what is in my budget. Dr. Curd and Dr. M are wonderful careing people and i would not have any other doctor touch my pet. It's like what Dr. Curd says she is our other family doctor. To this day still refer everyone i know to them and every new client I send them i get a $10 credit so as far as my concern its a win win situation. LOVE THEM!!!!!

The doctor was compassionate to our needs and very knowledgeable about what to do in order to help my daughter's cat. I would highly recommend Dr. Curd's services. I'm not sure why some people thought this vet clinic was a money trap, but they took great care of us. All fees were explained prior to any services. They even took steps to help reduce my bill and ensure that I felt comfortable in giving the required medication to our cat.

I'm very familiar with pets and their care. I care for strays, fix them up then adopt them out to good homes. Every stray I have brought there has been lovingly cared for, at a reasonable ( not cheap) price, similiar prices to many other vets . They have even scanned for microchips (no charge )and boarded the pets. I believe they have three strays for adoption I saw when I attended their open house saturday, The doc's have paid for all their food and care until homes can be found. I have never expected the care of my strays to be at no cost. So how can an owner complain about the cost of lab work or what sounds like a health certificate for travel, or a bladder infection on a pet they own? I have never had the doc's there do any tests that were not needed or asked for first. Are we sure this is the same doc she saw? Surely it was a misunderstanding on the clients part. She probably did not fully understand what she agreed to or changed her mind. Also, spays at Ellison are 100-200 dol... Read more

First and foremost Ellison Drive is one the best vet clinics in san antonio. Doctors and staff are very compasionate and try their hardest to accomodate both health and safety of animals as well as clients financial budgets. Offering care credit as a type of payment plan makes it an option for clients to be able to provide care for there animals in time of need or emergency. Treatment is never taken in action without a VCPR. Vet-client patient-relationship and a full understanding of the pets condition. An estimate of treatment is given and signed authorization is needed by owner. The importance of diagnostic testing is to narrow down what factors are abnormal in a pet. Pets cannot talk therefore it is VERY important. It is also important in chosing the correct medication to be suscribed to a pet. For the bad reviews that are on here, I expect for anyone to know more about veterinary medicine before mentioning "bad medicine" than to just focus on the cost! Talking bad about doctors o... This is an excellent veterinary clinic. I have taken all my dogs to this clinic and will continue to take them. I have taken one dog for a neuter, which was a very reasonable price and another for a dental, which i was very pleased with. I also take them all the time for shots and check up's. They always have great specials on their website and offer many different kinds of help if money seems to be tight such as Care Cedit. Dr. Curd and Dr.M are great docters who show care and compassion for the client and the animals. The whole staff is great and answers any questions i may have and are always very curtious. This place is excellent and people have to remember that this place does get very busy so if you have to wait remeber they are not just ingnoring you! I will always recommend this place to everyone!!

Ellison Drive Animal Hospital is the greatest place i've ever been to for animal care service! I actually adopted a dog from EDAH and she is a wonderful dog, very playful and healthy. I take her every month for a check up and i am always sure she is well taken care of! i've actually been shown the clinic behind closed doors and their facility is very neat, clean, smells fresh (unlike any other boarding facility i've seen before), and the staff and doctors were so kind and caring to my dog and my concern for my dog's health. If you value your pets life, you better not think twice; trust Dr. Curd and Dr. M and the rest of the staff with your animals, they know their stuff!! Recommend this hospital to anyone and everyone you know!

PET OWNERS BEWARE! I took my dog here for a simple exam and left with a $180.00 bill full of charges I never consented to. Dr. Curd was very rude and in my opinion a total quack! Instead of doing a physical exam she ran unnecessary bllod test which cost me $180, but when I refused x-rays and a $700 procedure to spay my dog, I was shown the door . I went in to make sure my dog didn't have a cold and left with unanswered questions, poor customer service and a $180 bill to boot. If the empty parking lot isn't indication enough, let my experience be a warning to you. Don't let the military discount lure you in. Dr Curd is a very dishonest person who cares way more about keeping the light bill paid than she does about your pet!

This is the first time I have owned a dog. I'm no expert on them by any means. My husband and I went to this hospital because it is close to home and we liked that they gave a $25 coupon. We were going in for a bump in my dogs (Sunny's) back. While we were in there I mentioned that she was having trouble urinating. They said they would have to take a urine sample. They returned saying that she had a bad urinary tract infection and she had some Crystals in her bladder. So those results lead to them wanting to do another expensive test. The test just confirmed that the urinary tract infection had gone to the kidneys. So they put her on 10 Simplicef 100mg, and said it would take care of everything. I made sure to ask because we were leaving 2 weeks later. Well after the 10 tablets were gone Sunny's urination dwindled fast. She started urinating less. So I called them and asked what we can do, having already spent $157.00 on a urinary tract infection. They tell me that I need... Read more
