I heard about this place on a podcast; the comic called it one of the best clubs in Chicago. I wouldn't disagree. We saw a great lineup on their monthly Sunday night open mic. What I was not aware of was the neighborhood we were going. When the cab driver dropped us off, he said "how did you find out about this place" in very cautious tone. He warned that we would not find a cab in the area. We got there, and quickly noticed that we were, well I'll just say out of place. It's not that we weren't welcomed but when they called a cab for us on the ride back, no one came, and it just so happened that one spotted us around the corner after thirty minutes of waiting. He said he never answers calls from that area because he has gotten stiffed on the fare. He said it's the worst neighborhood on the South Side; lots of gang violence. That being said, I got back in one peice and had a great time.

SOMETIMES THE COMEDY IS AWESOME AND SOMETIMES ITS ????. PARKNG CAN BE A PROBLEM, IF THE VALET SERVICE DON'T BE YOU TO SPACES BY MARKING THEM OFF WITH CONES.

Contrary to the review I just read, I was very impressed with the professionalism of the staff, the visual ambience and entertainment. Fortunately, I have been able to attend a show on Wed. Thurs and Sat. to see the difference in the entertainment. I believe that the Thursday show consists of spoken word mostly and some comedians and vocalists. I know that Wednesdays have open mic for comedy and I have seen numerous local comedians there, cause its one of my favorite nights being that the hosts are Deon Cole and Damon Williams and they are some of my favorite Chicago comedians. I've only been to a weekend show once but the talent then was great also. I saw Teddy Carpenter there just last week. The very personable box office person explained to me that only accredited comedians were booked for the Friday & Saturday shows so BET Comic View and Bad Boys of Comedy acts are featured every weekend. I plan to go back to see more shows on the weekend. This is how the comedic acts we love today... Read more

I called b4 going, to find out the cover. Lady was helpful & pleasant. Cover: w,t,sun $10- f,s $20. Entrance area very nice, bar set up nice. They have the entrance set up like they want it to be a classy joint, well they tried. Went in-cheap black tables and chairs. There were maybe 20 ppl there, mind you we got there show was starting at 8pm. I was told on the phone that there would be a show of local comedians. Wrong!! This had to be talent show night. A few rap groups, a few singers (who could sing), a spoken word artist, an a comedian. The host was Tony Sko who you would only know by listening to the radio, and talked about ppl in the audience all night, not real material.
