The laughing effects were actually necessary because almost every joke was flatly dull), to the end where the family members hug and rejoice when the problem is resolved or some beautiful lesson is taught, from beginning to end every minute of the show screams corny and sweet. The overdone, lame humor and the frivolous script didn't do much to attract me either. I'll admit it was sickeningly saccharine at times but it was sweet, clean and made many kids happy. You learned a lesson and a got a warm fuzzy moment every week. Bad actors, lame writing, but I liked the show and still do.
