Many Many people depend on this drug for their pain and I know several people infact that cant live without it, or function without it and Purdue changed this drug without one case study Fda said they didn't have to but what they added to this drug changed the drug unknowingly and it's counter acting with the pain meds and making people sick and they don't care that many people are in severe pain again and the pain Dr's will not perscribe this new so called oxy to their patients anymore all the pharmasits are getting complaints from EVERYONE> I Think everyone should let people know what they have done! They think it is the answer, BUT They are causing every one to get sick and be in severe pain Without ONE case study How fair is this to the people that really use it for pain. That was the one pill that helped now everyone is helpless. Fda should be held accountable as well as purdue...Purdue should care that people are getting sick. The pain Dr i know contacted Purdue and found this o... Read more

All it did was back me up. I think I'm naturally tolerant to morphine derivatives.

In a weaker moment a few years ago, I tried it recreationally, but it didn't do much for me(although I confess that my tolerance for opiates is high). I've learned since that if you chew it, it can make you as high as a shot of heroin might. Not that I'm about to "experiment" again. From what I understand, it's extremely addictive and has driven a large number of its abusers to suicide.

I have had severe chronic pain for 2 years and have tried everything, the bad press on oxycontin scares people and doctors from prescribing it. I was heading to disablilty , unable to work, or have a decent life because of the terrible pain. Finally my doctor prescribe this drug, and it has been a life saver. I am 50 years old and this drug is for long term use for control chronic pain. There are a lot of people who benifit form this drug but like in life bad press is heard stronger that good press. My condition is never going to get better but with this drug I can manage the pain and still go forward with my life.

I had surgery last month and this was prescribed for the pain. Other than actually taking care of that pain - as prescribed - I honestly didn't see what people are talking about (of course that's most likely because I took the recommended dose). I really don't understand people who play with drugs. It only takes one major or semi-major illness to realize how stupid it is to abuse anything - especially your own body. You don't have to take my word for it - screw around with your immune system and you'll eventually get the point.

This is by no means a recreational drug. People that do not have a tolerance to this will either get sick or die the first time they do it. Should be used only for chronic pain and by people that have already built a tolerance to opiates. I have a family member that must use this everyday and so many idiots that abuse it and die or become addicted give this drug a bad name and at times has been almost taken off the market. One strength, 160mg, has already been discontinued due to abuse of it which effects people that need stronger doses, for then billing issues with insurance come into play. No drug should be recreational including smokes or alcohol but if your gonna try drugs stay away from this one and leave it out of the media for people that are suffering everyday like most of us will never endure.

DO NOT USE TO ABUSE !!! Yes, it may make you feel like your on top of the world, but IT WILL DESTROY YOUR LIFE! Financially, Personally and Health ! I lost a very very close person to this stuff. He isn't dead, but he might as well be. He spends most of his money, just about all of it for a pill. It is addictive. Duh about that eh? You think you enjoy it? Well if that's the case, look around you. Do people who love you support your use? Did you lose close friends and family because of the use? This is some bad stuff, real bad.

Dangerous stuff if used inappropriately, from what I understand. I have a second cousin who was hooked on this crap, and it really wreaked havoc on him.
